  • "Fresh finds on the daily chef's choice are always a good bet at this great restaurant we have been several times tried both fish and meat and found each tasty and prepared well with chef'a choice of seasoning and presentation"

  • "The ambiance is a bit too dark and the menu print kind of small for the older group. Food was good and selection of choices. Bar could supply prices on beverages. Pricy if you want to drink. Tulip beers (specialty) aren't filled up as a regular beer would be. Nice time had by all."

  • "Had a wonderful meal in Sandusky Oh. At first glance menu items seem fairly typical but the chef puts a unique stamp and bold flavors on all items. Highly recommend Brussels sprout app with balsamic - would endure a water park weekend for another meal at crush!"

  • "This was my first experience at Crush, and I can guarantee it will not be the last. The food was excellent, and prepared in such a way that it was both familiar and new. The staff was friendly and helpful, without being a bother."

  • "I went to Crush to celebrate my mom's birthday. They offer small plates and full sized entrees. We ordered a few of each. I especially like the bacon wrapped dates, Brussel sprouts, and the duck confit pizza. Our server was knowledgeable and make some good recommendations. The wine list is extensive and we had no trouble finding something that everyone liked. They also have several daily specials and a full bar. The bar area seemed pretty busy and the bartenders were doing a great job keeping up with all the action. I would definitely go back to Crush and highly recommend it!"

  • "The food and the wine list are quite varied. Food flavorful and seemed accurately described on the menu. Portions on the large side. Neat ambiance. Restaurant was quiet on the Friday night when we were there. (probably due to the weather....because it seems crowded most weekends). Service, though, was nothing spectacular. This may sound snobbish....but in a place like this I expect "steakhouse waiter" service...not "diner waitress" service. (Meaning absolutely nothing about the gender of the employee). I'll go back again. This place and Zinc Brasserie have excellent menus and wine lists."

  • "We enjoy great food and wine, and Crush is definitely on our top ten list! Looking forward to the blood orange martins to welcome summer!"

  • "I made an online reservation. We arrived and the hostess immediately acknowledged our group and led us to our table. Such a simple thing but many screw it up. The evening is off to a great start! Our Server was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and kept a keen eye on our table. My guest from Dallas TX loves wine and I brought him to the right spot! He thoroughly enjoyed your wine list. We had calamari and a pizza to start which was very good. The steaks were great and so were the Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos! Your restaurant truly is a Neighborhood Gem. I will definitely be bringing guests back. I can't believe it's taken me this long to stop in. I will recommend Crush Wine Bar to anyone asking me where a good local restaurant is in Sandusky."

  • "Crush has everything you are looking for now! Fresh ingredients variety large plates, small plates, chef specials. Great wine list if you choose to imbibe and good fresh coffee if you don't. Service is attentive and quick on refills. They really are everything you want now at a reasonable price."

  • "Loved everything except where we sat. It was too close to the large windows and we became cold. High table was not conducive to evening dinner"

  • "We visited Crush on Feb 19th for a surprise party for my best friends 24th. We will not be returning to Crush for many reasons. They initially denied the bday girl a drink because she needed assistance walking through the door. But she was blindfolded so anyone who is blindfolded can't see and will require assistance and instead coming over the check the situation the "manager" sent of server over to tell us. We found that EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. After we squared that away we order drinks that were a bust. Not very well prepared. We went to order 4 orders of the Mahi tacos, calamari, pierogies, and duck wings. The tacos tasted very burnt, the rest was blah. The food followed suit. It was overpriced for what it tasted like."

  • "I find that Crush takes ordinary dishes and changes them up with herbs, oils, spices and cheeses. I enjoy trying new dishes every time I go. Great wine list and sampling, also. Wait staff is excellent."

  • "Great atmosphere and dinner specials that you could tell where not mass produced. Loved our first visit. Reasonably priced too - we will come back"

  • "Started off at the wine bar and had great service and soo many wine choices to choose from. Loved the live band playing! Then went over to restaurant side for dinner. service was great and so was the food. Very reasonable prices. FRUITTI DI MARE pasta dish is to die for...very fresh tasting seafood in the most amazing sauce ever...cant wait to go back!!!"

The food choices range is from a mouth watering burger to elegant dishes of salmon or small plates. Warm weather offers a seating outside in an intimate space. The wine list is extensive complimented by a full liquor service. Do not leave without having the Crème Brule!"

  • "Awesome night out with friends at the crush wine bar."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "It may seem a small thing, but among the virtues of Crush is that the menu, the presentation, the service--everything is consistent (and consistently good) from one visit to the next. We live some distance away, so we're hardly "regulars," but we enjoy returning and bringing new friends. If anything was off, it was my ribeye, a special for the evening. This is a steak known for its fat and accompanying flavor, but even though it was prepared exactly as ordered and attractively served, it simply was not a good piece of beef; a big section, almost a third of the cut, was fat and gristle, and the leaner parts were not very tasty. But I discovered this more in the piece I took home, so I didn't complain at the time. Still, a great meal."

  • "We love Crush and consistently have outstanding food there. Tonight was unfortunate because we had an unfriendly server, but that is not the norm here. We typically have an excellent experience and the food speaks for itself."

  • "Great place to eat. Seasonal menu along with great appetizers. The smoked salmon with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes is awesome. Great wine list. Many beers on the menu with a good selection of craft beers on tap. Highly recommend this gem for a nice place to eat, and enjoy a glass or two of wine. Prices are what to expect for chef inspired cooking and a wine bar. Prob not the best place to take minors."

  • "Chicago and New York - move over! Crush Wine Bar in downtown Sandusky delivers a five star dining experience. The ambiance and top drawer service sets the scene for dishes that transport your palate to pure joy! Small plates are just enough to satisfy your appetite with delight! I have tried the roasted beet salad, pecan and cranberry salad, sautéed scallops, homemade pierogi, gourmet pizza, wonderful pasta dishes and the best duck ever! Always hit!"

  • "Reservation for 8 on NYE. Everything was perfect!! 6 of the 8were out of town guests so we wanted to impress. Mission accomplished!! The food was excellent! Not one complaint! The wine flights were perfect! Prices very reasonable. And for the first time a friendly waitress! The service was 100% better and we look forward to a return trip. Highly recommend"

  • "NEVER EVER a disappointment. Our Mother's Day meal was fabulous, yet again. A favorite dining spot for our entire family - daughters 19 and 17 years, and son 16 years, all had a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere, phenomenal service, and food worth reviewing."

  • "Our services sucked and the waitress are rude and avoided us half the time. The food was fair at best. I expected much better especially for the price. Crush has two sides one side has sushi the other with the regular menu but you cannot order from sushi on regular side or order off regular menu on sushi side. This needs to be explained better before people make reservations. All in all no one had a good time and it was a disasterous dinner. Will not return."

  • "Food and ambience were great for a night out with friends. Excellent musicians provided entertainment. Service was slow, but it was corded and we were in no hurry. Overall, a great place to eat in Sandusky."

  • "Another great night at Crush. We had a lot of small plates and most were good. Duck wings are a bit heavy/oily. One complaint would be that the features rarely change. I have been here 6 times in the last 4 or 5 months and very little variance to the feature menu. Could be that the owner is overly busy with running/startup of other properties. The eclectic feature menu is what originally hooked us. Seems the features at Zinc do no change as frequent as well. Both are still top of our list."

  • "Be prepared to bring a wrap; even with heavy drapes, it is drafty. The noise level is high. However, those are my only negative comments. The food is excellent. The service is outstanding. Sandusky is sooo lucky to have a restaurant like Crush. It could rival any restaurant in any major city. One last thing, I am lactose intolerant, and there are many items from which I can choose. Too many restaurants only offer items covered with cheese or made with cream. Last week we dined at another local restaurant for lunch, and there were only 3 items I could eat, and they were appetizers! Crush is a jewel in Sandusky; we love it!"

  • "Perfect wine pours, excellent food presentations, varied menu for a wine bar. Attached is the Kitchen Bar with sushi, also! My favorite place in Sandusky!"

  • "We just love Crush. The food is amazing - stand outs to me are the trout pate, thai cucumber salad, crispy duck wings, pierogies, and the pineapple upside down cake. Great drinks too. Will definitely return!"

  • "Great food great service and good friends, what is needed after a long week! Just a little chill when the front door opened and closed, will ask to sit further back next time."

  • "Very reasonably priced menu American bistro style food. Offering both small plates (tapas style) and full entrée we dinner before the symphony just delicious. My partner had pork with a balsamic glaze, I had grilled mahi tacos that were obviously made fresh with a lime garlic aioli. Our waitress was very attentive and the service was excellent."

  • "Our party was seated at our table for about 10 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged us. By that time, we had already decided on both dinner and drinks. The food was incredible. After dinner, we were not asked if we would like another drink or dessert. Our waitress just brought our checks without asking. It gave us the feeling of being pushed out the door. Would definitely go back again, but only because the pizza and burgers are amazing."
