Dinner was great! Got to visit with parents, in-laws and husband. Food was good. Service was decent...AFTER our server finally showed up. We had a reservation. And still sat at our table for close to 15 minutes before we even got water. Not so awesome... I wouldn't say the noise level was "energetic". Acoustics were bad and it was hard to hear the person sitting next to you...but it carried the laugh from te person at the other end of the restaurant. We will be back...but will keep this in mind when making plans.

I brought my extended family to the The Crush because my previous experiences had been very positive. Plus, my family are wine enthusiasts and excited to the idea of going to a "wine bar" to cater to their tastes. Unfortunately, the experience was not so great this time. And, unfortunately, it was when we were trying to make a good impression for the dining options in downtown Sandusky. With our early reservation made through Open Table, we found time time that was not busy, yet it still took some time for a hostess to greet us. Our server was coarse and impatient. The wine list was inaccurate with vintage dates. The server's recommendations were way off. Needless to say, our relatives we NOT impressed and will may not go again.

Remarkable varietals, create your own flight from 3 oz pours ($9-12 per flight of 3). Tasting plates range from $6-12. Loved saltimbuca scallops (3small) artichoke green goddess (fried). Dates in fontina bit too candy sweet. Pizzas ok. Bit crowded, not quite elegant enough to merit the $80 price tag for two (flight of wine for each) no dessert.

Always have a great dinner at Crush - good service, good food, good wine. We made the mistake of going during Sandusky "Bike Week" - Crush was located right in the midst of this and we had to fight our way through the drunken, noisy mess to get there. Otherwise, a lovely dinner!

We chose to eat outside which was tables in the alley between buildings. It was actually really nice. Brick wall of the building along with the birds made for a nice atmosphere. Service was a little slow, 10+ minutes just for drinks but we weren't in a hurry. Food was great and had a decent beer selection. Would decently eat here again.

Went here for the second time and was just as good as the first. Interesting and unusual menu items. The soup that evening was potato leek soup. The consistency was like velvet. Haven't had one like this in a long time. Our waitress was attentive without being over bearing. Our food was delivered hot and in a timely fashion. We lingered awhile but never felt hurried. Would go back again.

Skip all of the chain restaurants in Sandusky and head to this hip, little gem. Great wine list and a wide selection of high-end food ranging from apps to small plates to pizzas to full entrees. Factor is very knowledgable servers and you have a restaurant experience that will make you forget that Cedar Point even exists. The only negative is that noise levels can reach deafening levels when it gets busy.

This is one of our favorite local restaurants. We love the privately owned places. Food is spectacular but I wish sometime I would try something other than my favorite, mac & chicken but it is too good to pass up. We have never had a bad experience. The only thing I would love to see them change is doing away with putting the piece of paper on the tablecloth. I know this is to save on linen use but it reminds me so much of when our children were little and taking our children to dinner where the restaurant put paper on the table for them to draw on. Their customers are generally not children and an establishment like this should merit their diners linen table cloths to eat on. Minor glitch---we will be back.

The only complaint I have about my experience at Crush was that if you sit on the dining side rather than the bar side you are not allowed to get sushi. If you sit on the bar side rather the than the dining side you can't have the regular dining menu. They would make no exceptions. Bummed my party out because some were wanting sushi as a main dish.

The ambiance is a bit too dark and the menu print kind of small for the older group. Food was good and selection of choices. Bar could supply prices on beverages. Pricy if you want to drink. Tulip beers (specialty) aren't filled up as a regular beer would be. Nice time had by all.

I went to Crush to celebrate my mom's birthday. They offer small plates and full sized entrees. We ordered a few of each. I especially like the bacon wrapped dates, Brussel sprouts, and the duck confit pizza. Our server was knowledgeable and make some good recommendations. The wine list is extensive and we had no trouble finding something that everyone liked. They also have several daily specials and a full bar. The bar area seemed pretty busy and the bartenders were doing a great job keeping up with all the action. I would definitely go back to Crush and highly recommend it!

The food and the wine list are quite varied. Food flavorful and seemed accurately described on the menu. Portions on the large side. Neat ambiance. Restaurant was quiet on the Friday night when we were there. (probably due to the weather....because it seems crowded most weekends). Service, though, was nothing spectacular. This may sound snobbish....but in a place like this I expect "steakhouse waiter" service...not "diner waitress" service. (Meaning absolutely nothing about the gender of the employee). I'll go back again. This place and Zinc Brasserie have excellent menus and wine lists.

I made an online reservation. We arrived and the hostess immediately acknowledged our group and led us to our table. Such a simple thing but many screw it up. The evening is off to a great start! Our Server was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and kept a keen eye on our table. My guest from Dallas TX loves wine and I brought him to the right spot! He thoroughly enjoyed your wine list. We had calamari and a pizza to start which was very good. The steaks were great and so were the Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos! Your restaurant truly is a Neighborhood Gem. I will definitely be bringing guests back. I can't believe it's taken me this long to stop in. I will recommend Crush Wine Bar to anyone asking me where a good local restaurant is in Sandusky.

We visited Crush on Feb 19th for a surprise party for my best friends 24th. We will not be returning to Crush for many reasons. They initially denied the bday girl a drink because she needed assistance walking through the door. But she was blindfolded so anyone who is blindfolded can't see and will require assistance and instead coming over the check the situation the "manager" sent of server over to tell us. We found that EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. After we squared that away we order drinks that were a bust. Not very well prepared. We went to order 4 orders of the Mahi tacos, calamari, pierogies, and duck wings. The tacos tasted very burnt, the rest was blah. The food followed suit. It was overpriced for what it tasted like.
