Diner Reviews
  • "My wife and I loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious and unique. We have gone several times and have recommended Crudo to many of our friends. Great place."

  • "Excellent and unique menu. Excellent seafood. Nice selection of specials. Has a old city vibe. We will be back."

  • "This is a hidden gem in the North Dallas area. The place is small, cozy and a great place to relax with someone special. The staff treats you like a regular from day one. The chef is wonderful and the food is fabulous!"

  • "We really enjoyed the food and service at Crudo! Each menu item we received was outstanding. The only thing that kind of bothered me was that we made a reservation, and still had to wait almost 30 min for a table. Regardless, we sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves."

  • "I'll be back to Crudo. The service was a little slow, but I think it was because they were understaffed and not because of lack of effort. The food was very good, although not quite as authentically Italian as I'd hoped. Still, you could do a lot worse for a nice meal with the wife."

  • "I looked this establishment up online not knowing exactly what to expect but hoping it would turn out good. I was blown away by the service, treatment and food. This place truly is a neighborhood gem and worthy of greatest honors. My only gripe if it really mattered, (which I don't think it does) would be that the place is small; however, this makes it nice and cozy! No, no complaints but many compliments! Great job and thank you for making my anniversary great! I don't know how I forgot my servers name but he was also exceptional! Sorry."

  • "I just happened to stumble upon this little gem, thanks to OpenTable! The food was fantastic (I had the Chilean Sea Bass -- perfectly prepared, well seasoned)! I enjoyed it so much that my date and I stayed for dessert (the smoothest Crème brulee I've ever had). We definitely plan to return!"

  • "We really like this restaurant, but have had some hit's and misses. First off, I will tell you that I have NEVER sent my food back before. Our 1st visit to the restaurant I had to send my appetizer back because it wasn't hot enough, but the food was fantastic. Lunch was great. This past Sat. it was raining and I don't know if that's what put them behind. We waited some time for our waiter to visit our table. When we finally ordered dinner, again my steak was just Luke warm as was my husband's pork chop. My son's Sea bass was excellent though. I'm hoping this was only a bad night due to the rain, because this is a wonderful restaurant!! I gave the service a 4 because it's usually great."

  • "One of our favorite neighborhood finds. Not cheap, but also not terribly overpriced either. Love the unique specials and wood fired flavors. They have some unique wines that are worth trying as well. Hard to believe the tiny kitchen can pump out such quality food. We've always had great food and even better service. It's always nice when the staff recognizes you by name when you return. We'll continue to frequent this little gem."

  • "This was my families first visit at Crudo's. When we first arrived there wasn't a sign that indicated exactly where the entrance was. Once seated we found that the atmosphere was pretty loud. We had a hard time hearing each other and We had a hard time getting our waitors attention. As for the food, I had the stuffed salmon and it was excellent! I would return, but this will be a place I'll dine for lunch or during the week. I'll avoid Friday/Saturday nights. Many enjoy this kind of atmosphere but for me I prefer a quieter dining experience."

  • "Supposedly a romantic restaurant, but the place is very noisy and you could barely hear each other. It was so bad we left."

  • "Margaritas were too expensive at $15 a pop. Dessert had Hershey's syrup instead of a real chocolate sauce."

  • "The food was good but not outstanding, and the atmosphere detracted from the overall experience. The noise level was excessive for an upscale restaurant, and the lighting was atrocious. I fully understand mood lighting, but when most people in the room were reading the menu by the light of their phone, it's too dark! And...I like to see what I'm eating. Overall: not worth the price. I doubt we'll go back."

  • "The food was outstanding. wonderful wine list . Our waiter James was tops!"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "Good food (but not great), excellent wine list and superb service. But way too crowded. The tables are jammed together in the main dining area. The bar/waiting area is on top of those jammed-in tables. A 7:00 reservation was meaningless because I was told the four couples ahead of us also had reservations. Friday night may not be the best night to choose Crudo."

  • "We had dinner at Crudo at a recommendation of some friends. After reading the menu online I was not expecting anything spectacular . Boy were we wrong. We selected our dishes from the long list of specials. Starting with the smoked pasta, which was a lightly smoked pasta with a truffle cream sauce. It was our favorite. I had the salmon and Sea Bass wrapped in filo dough on a bed of palenta (wonderful), the greek salad was good as well. The wine list they have on the menu is misleading in the fact that it is only a small sample of wines they have. If you have a favorite wine or grape make sure you tell your server what you like and he will give you some options that are not on the menu. It is our new Plano/Frisco restaurant!"

  • "This place could easily stay busy with twice the real estate. It was buzzing at the long bar all night as people waited on their tables. The tables were close together, but not too awkwardly. The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting with romantic low lights and the glow of the wood burning stove at the end of the restaurant. We were seated at a two top behind the hostess stand. Mostly two and four top tables throughout the restaurant. Servers gracefully moved between tables as it held room for one way traffic only. It was super busy being Valentine’s weekend, but our server James still took great care of us. Food did not disappoint! French onion soup, pork scallopini, filet, and homemade apple pie a la mode were favorites!"

  • "aside from the awkward hostess and cramped reception area, the place was great. definitely make a reservation if you want to go on a busier night. th two of us shared several plates so that we take advantage of the varierty of things on their menu. the bluberry white chocolate bread pudding dessert was fantastic. nice wines and our server was great. they have a lot lof specials off menu to also select from."

  • "The food and menu is very good, as well as the wines. But, be ready for a very very loud bar scene atmosphere. It is not a place to have conversation or a comfortable dining experience. It was a very crowded floor and the waiter had to yell to be heard over the noise. And that was at adjoining tables. I'd suggest, at best, for a late evening dinner / tapas."

  • "Me and my fiancé came in for the first time on my birthday and then 4 days later again on his birthday! We absolutely fell in love with the restaurant and we will be coming back again and again. We want to try everything on the menu! I have recommended you to all my friends. Also the staff was outstanding and waited on us hand and and foot!!! Thank you for making us extremely happy:-) Dollie Lockley"

  • "We had a 7:30 reservation, we were told it would be about 15 minutes. At 8:00, the hostess let us know she forgot about us and we would be sat momentarily. I wasn't super happy. We were sat in a corner, stuffed against the wall, very close to the next table, and by the bar. Bar folks bumped into my husband several times. But the redeeming part of the evening was our server, James. He didn't bump my chair when he squeezed by me to get to the other table so that made me happy. He was very informative, explained their concept, the menu, made recommendations, he was great. So nice and very professional. Food was great, best creme brûlée I've had in a while. Gnocchi was good; not special but tasty. We will return and ask for James."

  • "My wife and I chose this place off of Open Table and we were not disappointed. Excellent service, excellent food, and a great wine list made for an experience I will want again. Chris, our waiter, was very good and took time with us as we tried out some different food items. My wife had the special (scallops) and I had the tenderloin on the menu. Both were cooked perfectly. The bruschetta was tasty as was the apple pie. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to find a great neighborhood restaurant. We will return."

  • "Service was very good. The food was also very good and uniquely served, example was the warm Greek bread served with goat cheese and kalamata olives. They run 1-2 daily kitchen specials for lunch and server noted 8 daily dinner specials."

  • "We have been here on two separate occasions. Food is always incredible. We have had the Osso Bucco, Sea Bass and the Pork and Veal Tortellini as the main courses. The beef carpaccio appetizer and various bruschettas were also amazing. Everything has been delicious. However, the noise level is fairly high because of the energy level there. But this will not deter us from dining here. Just don't come expecting a quiet, romantic dinner. Love the food!!"

  • "They had a set menu, but with 5 outstanding chioces for both appetizers & entrees. My husband ordered the lump crab biscotti's and filet minon, I had the lobster butternut squash bisque and Chilean sea bass. All was excellent!!! That was our second time at Crudo and the food and service have been excellent both times. This place makes you realize you don't need to drive into Dallas for great gourmet food. We'll definitely be back."

  • "I'd been to Crudo once before for a friend's bday celebration and picked it when my family wanted to take me out for my bday. It's a very small restaurant, but we had a late lunch and there were only two other groups dining. They have recently enclosed their patio to increase seating. They serve a tasty foccacia with olives to start. Everyone from Grandma to picky teen enjoyed their meal. The tortellini is fantastic. We will definitely go back."

  • "We've eaten here twice in the past two weeks and both meals and service were excellent. No complaints whatsoever. Both appetizers (calamari friti, escargot) were excellent. Greek salad fresh and tasty. The entrees: jumbo shrimp with capelini pasta was fantastic, chicken breast and beef tenderloin were very good as well. This has now become our new favorite restaurant. Quality of the food is up there with Hibiscus but its only a 20 minute drive for us versus an hour. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I've been to crudo before and was impressed, but this visit was a little strange. first, they couldn't find my open table reservation, even though I had the confirmation (so I probably didn't get my points), then they guy who greeted me kept walking away to take care of a bigger party, so I was left standing at the door. Later when we were having dinner, I sent back my martini because I thought it wasn't very good. I had a martini there before and it was great (different bartender the first time). When I sent it back the bartender actually came by the table with all his ingredients and made the martini again right in front of me. Weird, I didn't know if he was being flip or trying to show me he did his best. I thought it was rude."
