Croton Reservoir TavernGood restaurant in Bryant Park areaWe stayed at the Bryant Park hotel and wanted to go to a restaurant that wasn't too formal or expensive. I found out about the Croton Reservoir Tavern through Open Table. It is one block from the Bryant Park Hotel and Bryant Park. We had dinner there and then went back later for drinks. Our dinner was good and the server was very attentive. The menu is a little limited but we both were able to find something we liked. The atmospher is nice with a big long bar on one side and tables on the other. We went back for drinks later in the night. There was a DJ and the bar wasn't that crowded. They receive high marks across the board. Excellent beer selection. The menu has a wonderful mix of light and heartier dishes. For dessert we split a plate of the fresh baked cookies; they were the perfect end to a great lunch. Small so make reservation if trying to do a pre-Theater dinner. Lobster Bisque was delicious. Crab cake appetizer was meaty and sizable enough to share if you are also getting another aapetizer like the cajun spicy shrimp.
