Diner Reviews
  • "We know of Aaron Sanchez through Food Network. Made reservations and got right in. The staff were courteous and efficient. Our waiter Matt was friendly and engaging without being pushy.I ordered lobster and macaroni. I loved it, there were several rather substantial pieces of succulent lobster. I sampled my son's and daughter's barbecued ribs and we agreed they were awesome. Portion sizes were large but we managed to do our delicious meals justice. For dessert I ordered the key lime pie. It was a generous slice of the most delectable key lime pie I've had. I enjoyed the creamy consistency of it. We loved our visit. What a stress reliever after a long hectic day. We'll dine with y'all again when we have the chance."

  • "this has to be the best bang for your buck at disney, although my ribs were a bit dry and didn't fall off the bone the food overall was well portioned, cole slaw was very fresh and the mash potatoes were real, "

  • "The food was really good, very tasty. The service was excellent. They have a lovely sitting area outside. Will go back to have drinks in that area. "

  • "I booked this based on other reviews. However, whilst it's called the house of blues inside there was no music and no atmosphere. The server was more interested in getting the check signed than serving us, most unusual for the states. Food was ok, This was the worse dining experience in 3 weeks and I would not recommend "

  • "Great food and fun for the whole family. Lots to look at although we were finished before the band started playing I'm sure they sounded great"

  • "This was a great night out. We went because we had tickets for a show next door. Food was very tasty and the service was excellent."

  • "I had made a reservation online for 8 because with that number I knew we would probably have to wait a while. We arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes prior to our reservation and ended up waiting over 30 minutes after our reservation. This leads me to ask myself what is the purpose of making a reservation. I had noticed multiple parties, including one with 8 or more people, be seated before our party was. When I approached the hostess and asked how long, she informed me the table was still being used, and she was waiting for the party to cash out. Our waitress was not available much for refills and etc., they ran out of the beer my wife ordered, which we found out 10 minutes after ordering, and the jambalaya should not be titled so."

  • "The service was great. The food is amazing even for my pescatarian diet. And the environment was to die for!"

  • "We went early so it wasn't crowded at all. Food was ok. Cornbread was a favorite. I got a sandwich and the bread was a little dry. My wife got pasta, she enjoyed it. We had a spicy shrimp app that was awesome. Service was great, fast and friendly."

  • "The food was from $15 (chicken) to $28 (ribs/steak) a portion. Portions were pretty small. Mac&Cheese lobster (forget the price but in the $20's) was in a very small bowl. Not what I expected as a main course. No bread, no salad. I'd get a burger or something light and less expensive than meals. Not worth it for the price and the food was just "ok". Chicken was the best."

  • "The food is good but the server gives you a warning that if you are not able to handle spicy foods, you better speak up. Heed this warning! The staff was great. We had a birthday at our table and they helped me be sneaky and get a candle in a dessert."

  • "Chose this because we had concert tickets at the House of Blues and dining there gets you to the front of the line. Good food, soulful southern cooking. Wish they would offer lighter options with no grains but it was still very good. Waiter was knowledgable, friendly and the food came put hot and fast."

  • "Our opentable reservation was ignored! We arrived on time but were put in the same queue as the walk ups. Our server shamelessly begged for an on-line at-a-boy. They mixed up our request for a an extra spicey jambalaya and instead spiced up a meat loaf. I guess one shouldn't expect much from such a high volume factory restaurant."

  • "We had looked forward to going here but were so disappointed. Our server was great, very friendly and accommodating, but the food was a huge disappointment. Mac and lobster was just OK, wings were dry, and shrimp and grits was so hot it couldn't be eaten (even by someone who loves hot and spicy food). The management did remove that from the bill. Only had blues music inside on Friday and Saturday nights so that part of experience was misleading. We were looking forward to live music while dining."

  • "Outside - with music - wonderful. Would love to have had dinner outside but the menu was limited. Inside wasn't nearly as nice. Food was okay but nothing special. Good central location at Disney. Service was very efficient and friendly."

  • "Food was delish...hubbs ordered jambalaya and I had the shrimp and grit cake. Food and arrived hot, was nice and spicyand our waiter was terrific! His name was Ray, he was very knowledgeable about the menu and was friendly as well as providing prompt service. Highly recommend the House of Blues and ask for Ray!"

  • "The food was very good but the problem that I had was the wait time. I made a reservation 4 weeks in advance for a party of 9. Eventhough we were 10 mins late, we had to wait 45 mins to be seated."

  • "All the food is stellar, but you cannot pass up the chocolate mousse if you love chocolate. Savor every spoonful because it's gone all too soon!!!"

  • "My companion and I love Crossroads at the House of Blues. Don't worry even if it's packed with families coming out of the park, the atmosphere is still good for couples. He had the fried chicken and I had the pork chop both excellent. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Couldn't have enjoyed it more."

  • "I made reservation for fiance' birthday and because going to a show at HOB. Waiter was horrible! Ordered souvenier drink $15.00!! Supposed to keep hurricane glass. Received drink in a MASON JAR not right glass, waiter says "Oh we're out this is what you get", when I appeared disappointed he says "We can't control inventory" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Inventory is someone's job. He didn't have the decency to tell me in advance of brining the drink. Paid $15 for a dry club sandwhich with little meat but the bacon was good. Fiance' got burger and it was big and tasty but not worth almost $20!!!"

  • "Went to Orlando on vacation. Booked this restaurant for last night in town, have been to others. Saw show at the music hall next door. I enjoyed it, food was good, properly cooked and served promptly. Staff answered all questions I had. Each location different, made it interesting, not cookie cutter. Would definitely go back."

  • "food was good ,wait staff was attentive , atmosphere was fine but I would think some blues being played as background would have been nice as long as conversation was not drowned out . check-in people could have been more friendly and helpful."

  • "Excellent experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our night special. We were celebrating my birthday, a new promotion and being newly engaged. They gave us fun Mardi Gras beads and buttons to commemorate the night and made us feel very special. Food & drink were delicious, moderate price & perfect size. Highly recommend!"

  • "My wife and I went to House of Blues at Downtown Disney. We split the buttermilk chicken because it is essentially half a chicken. Cornbread appetizer is no longer gratis and is way overpriced at $7.99. Also it is too large for 2 people to share without filling up before the entree. Entree portions seem big as it is apparently a Southern way/tradition. Our server disappeared soon after taking our order and we later found out that she was leaving for the day."

  • "Fun, energetic place to grab a bite at Downtown Disney, especially if you're going to La Nouba or a concert. Highly recommend making reservations on performance nights. Good variety of food with a Cajun influence. Our server was very friendly but must have been fairly new as he was not well versed on the make-up of menu items. It is important that wait staff know these things or be comfortable enough to say they do not know and make inquires. This is not a place to go for detailed conversation as it is very noisy and energetic. The Front Porch is a nice outdoor area for having drinks and listening to music. Their entertainment is always good."

  • "Waiter, Alex, was very friendly. Drink was ordered and forgot about though, till we told him again. Cobb salad ordered w/o peppers, came w peppers-- remade. Never asked what dressing we wanted... We questioned and he said it defaulted to ranch... We asked for balsamic (delicious) but came with ranch and had to ask for balsamic. Other couple we were with ordered a wedge salad... No blue cheese on it as described on menu, came with ranch, believed it should have come with blue cheese. Meatloaf was good, steak ok, lobster mac and cheese a bit fishy tasting for lobster and ribs were ok. Bill was a lot for what we are and taste of food. Very happy we had a groupon for $50 off, bill still $120+ Would not dine there again."

  • "we were a group of seven for an early dinner before a marathon the next day. The wait staff was very accommodating to our pre race meal needs and all the food came out hot and on time. The waiter to realized that we needed to hydrate and he kept on refilling our waters without even asking."

  • "When going to a show at the house of blues I like to use the "skip the line option" by having dinner and drinks before the show. That being said, they are very good at getting you taken care of with plenty of time to make the concert. Our server checked on us several times and the food was fresh and prepared well. I feel the food is a little pricey for this level, however this is the "theme park area". I would suggest this option as a nice way to get a little break from standing in line before a show."

  • "We got there 5 minutes before our reservation and got seated 45 minutes later. People with no reservation we're being quoted 20 minute waits when we got there. I don't think they got a table before us but they need to get a grasp of their seating and availability."

  • "It was a great experience and service and chef was great. The chef made a special request appetizer loaded with bacon it was a great good luck for aspecial adventure for my guest. Special occassions and attention to food allergies very careful. It was a great send off. Thanks. Food drinks service spectacular."

  • "Food below average. Portion too large. For having a celeb chef reinvent your menu, this was a bad attempt. The house of blues is known for being music oriented. No music at all played during our stay. Poor."

  • "Dinner at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney is fun . The menu is reasonably priced; food is acceptable. The décor is 5 star. Our orders: steak salad -4 stars; ribs -4 stars; and fish of the day, salmon -4 stars . Lots of positive energy in the room. Ray, our server, was 10 stars. Our reservation for 7:30 we arrived 7:25. Requested a booth. The so called receptionist (nurse ratchet) dismissed our reservation, said there would be a wait and it would be longer for a booth. she said go to the bar or sit down somewhere. we are not bar people and we were insulted by this suggestion. when the table became available ( a booth), a lovely young man showed us to it -- surprisingly we walked by at least 3 empty booths on the way to ours."

  • "We had dinner with the our extended family before the Panic! At the Disco concert and we had a great time. It is nice to get dinner before the concert to pass the line and get in before the main crowds. The food and the service were great and our server was on point and took care of all our needs. We will be back again before our next concert to eat again."

  • "Enjoyed the atmosphere, the decorations and the food immensely. Prices were moderate and server could have been alittle more attentive. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves and would go back next time we're in the Downtown Disney area!"
