The Scallop and Pork Belly appetizers were both solid additions to the experience as well. The setting is a beautiful, open air, art-deco atrium with character to spare. The cocktail menu is highly inventive and fun. The food was executed to perfection. The cherry bomb appetizer is simultaneously familiar and brand new.
Above all though was the outstanding service. Few places still maintain the professional caliber of care their wait staff provided. This is a delightful setting to show off what Cleveland really has to offer: amazing, creatively prepared food, an intriguing and beautiful reuse of architecturally appealing space, and wonderful service -- our waiter is one I'd like to have at every meal out, knowledgeable and perfectly but not overly attentive. My sons are proud of Cleveland's finer restaurants and it was great to be able to share our pride with the grandmother and future wife who haven't seen all our fair burg has to offer -- particularly, knowing that CROP is an example of what can be found here in comparison to what they've encountered in NY, Chicago and Dallas. It is quite extraordinary. The artisan drinks were terrific and the food and service were quite wonderful. Service was outstanding. We didn't feel rushed at all, but the service was not slow, but just a perfect pace. The balsamic popcorn (yes, popcorn) appetizer was tasty, a very creative combination. The walleye special and CAB ribeye entrees were excellent, and the chocolate napolean dessert was to die for. Overall, just an excellent experience, perfect for a special night out. We went on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was busy, but not crowded. We arrived early so the 6 of us sat at the bar for drinks. Our bartender, DJ, was very knowledgeable, offered suggestions and was funny. Our dinner was excellent. We shared 3 appetisers - deviled eggs, oysters and calamari. All were excellent. For our main entrees, 3 of us ordered the veal chop, 2 fish dishes and a steak. They were all done perfectly and the sides were also excellent. The server was honest and helpful about dishes to try, and others to avoid. The mixed drinks were perfect, little to no waiting for our food and special attention paid throughout the meal. The beef short ribs were slightly dry and a little cool. I don't want a hot meal but they should have been warmer and more moist. Lemon risotto was nothing special though the texture revealed it was made in true fashion. Scallops were excellent and we thought the flavor of the chorizo roma tomatoes was divine. We were seated right on time and our server greeeted us within 5 minutes. My wife has the scallops with were very good. I had the pasta special which was papardelle with lamb and a cream sauce. It too was good but not as good as the scallops. It was a little salty for my taste. The wine list was creative and fairly priced for an upscale resaurant. The only negative was the ambiant noise. If you want a quiter table get as far away from the bar as possible. It's such a large space I'm sure it's a challenge to buffer the noise.

We went on a Wednesday evening so the noise wasn't bad. I can imagine on weekends, it could be very noisy. the builiding is beautiful, however. We told them that we were going to a play and our server remembered and was attentive to this need. We sat at the "chef's table" which is a bar seating area over looking the kitchen which I think is super cool, although would not be the easiest for groups larger than two to converse. Food was all fantastic I had a breaded pork chop that was the bomb, and we had started with the scallop appetizer which was awesome.

I had noticed they changed up their menu so we went back for a birthday dinner and everyone was floored by the food. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while!
