Diner Reviews
  • "We stopped in prior to going to The Palace for a musical. The food was excellent and our server noted our need to stay on a schedule. Dining was not hurried but attentive and we enjoyed our meal and made it to the show on time! Love the building (an old bank)."

  • "With no more than a dozen people in the place, the noise level was too high for a private conversation. Not worth returning, even though the food and service were great."

  • "The food and atmosphere were outstanding. We order the Balsamic Popcorn and the Cherry Bombs as appetizers. Perfection. The soup of the day was Clam Chowder. It had huge chunks of clams throughout. I ordered the Duck entree. It was very hearty and delicious. I had the Crop Cosmo to drink. Freshed squeezed lime juice was a plus!"

  • "We arrived on a very snowy & windy evening to be greeted by smiling faces! It sets the right tone right from the start. We ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer & loved the combination of the quince jelly with the cheese & bread...very tasty! Our entrees were excellent as were our drinks. The servers were all very helpful & we couldn't have been more pleased with our evening at Crop!!"

  • "We celebrated a birthday at Crop over the weekend. I couldn't have been happier with the evening. Our server Will and the Crop staff took such good care of us from the moment we walked in the door until the second we left. We had the Pork Belly and Scallop appetizers. Both were amazing. For dinner we had short ribs, salmon, red fish (Special), and duck. I think the best part was sampling each of the dishes. For dessert we had the lemon meringue and crop sundae. Again - we were blown away by how everything tasted. This was our first time at Crop, but we will definitely be back."

  • "I booked Crop Bistro for my husbands birthday. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews regarding the noise level, but I have to say that it was a NON issue for us. It is definitely not the place to go to if you want a quiet, romantic night out, but if you want beautiful decor, and amazing food-it fits the bill. The appetizers were amazing, and the entrees didn't disappoint either. The cocktails are very strong, and the wait staff is knowledgable. We will definitely be going back:)"

  • "We love supporting the efforts of Cleveland restaurants which rely on local farms for meat and produce. Crop has been doing this a long time, and creating awesome dishes with local, seasonal food. I had the pork chop over greens and cheese grits and was a very happy diner! The maker's mark new fashioned must not be missed. It pairs well with everything."

  • "Crop Bistro is amazing. Those of us who can remember when it was a bank, it brings back a lot of memories. Kudos to the owners for trying to revitalize Cleveland. Was there for lunch and will definitely be back for lunch and dinner."

  • "Food was good - but compared to other high end restaurants - this was somewhat overpriced"

  • "Everything about Crop was perfect. This was the most perfectly prepared piece of salmon I have ever had the pleasure of eating. And it is reasonably priced. Good service, quick and friendly. Not too overbearing. I am looking forward to next time already."

  • "Really fantastic meal, but our one friend was vegetarian and didn't have a lot to choose on the menu. Would be 5-star review if there were more vegetarian dishes on the menu."

  • "In addition to great food and the historical appeal of the venue, it is a great place for pre-theatre dining. The staff made note of our time commitment and were very attentive to our request. We enjoyed every entrée and appreciated the integration of local ingredients and the creativity of the sides that accompanied the main course."

  • "The veal chop and potato is hands down the best meal I have had in my 38years on this planet!! The bartenders are knowledgable, freindly and appropriate. never felt fushed like some other places in Ohio City. I will return 100 times and I will recommend this place to all of my friends and family."

  • "What a gem! We ordered the chef's tasting menu with paired wine & every bite of every course was complex and delicious. Such a treat to get to meet & thank the chef for the creativeness of each dish. The wine was also excellent, a real value for just $30 with 7 pairings! Can't wait to return to Dallas to experience this restaurant again & hopefully introduce another friend to it."

  • "Popcorn appetizers were ridiculous. Who thinks of combinations like that ? That was the overall theme and experience at Crop. . Going with the specials is always a rewarding experience when coming here. Good selection of bottled wines and small but well rounded craft beer selections. Will continue to visit this establishment whenever I am in town."

  • "Crop never let's you down. The vast space that this restaurant is set in is so intriguing. I would suggest that it is not a place for a romantic date, as there is no cozy feeling in the air. The drink menu is impressive, as is the main menu. Our party of four left with nothing but great things to say!"

  • "Took a group out to Crop this time instead of it just being my wife and I. Been there a few times now and really have enjoyed my experience each time. Valet Service when pulling up is nice and affordable. The bar is great to start things off. Bartenders make good cocktails and are always moving ensuring you will get your drink quickly. The dining area, while loud when it's just two of you, is a cool atmosphere when you are there with a group. Set in an old bank, it has some beautiful decor. Food has been very good each time we have been there, ensuring you get what you pay for. I would recommend this place to my friends."

  • "The bar at Crop is a real gem. Bartenders are engaging and knowledgable, drinks are creative and there is a wide selection. The food service staff are nowhere as knowledgable. Not specific about the details of preparation and our server had very little experience with the wine list. We found the wine menu not up to par with the food preparation. Food is highly creative and the wine choices were pedestrian. The overall space is majestic and could be a real treasure for Cleveland."

  • "Smoked ingredient dishes are especially outstanding! Located across the street from the incredible Westside Market in vibrant Ohio City---just a couple minutes drive from Quicken Loans Arena, Tower Square, Progressive Field or anywhere else in downtown Cleveland. This building shares the ground floor of the beautifully restored historic bank building with Penzey's Spices, also worth a stop."

  • "This is the kind of restaurant where you walk in for the first time and wonder why it took you so long to go. The ambiance is amazing. The food is great. Everyone from the hostess to our waitress was so, so, so pleasant. I read on Foursquare that the balsamic popcorn and cherry bombs were must-have appetizers. Our waitress recommended the truffle popcorn, and it was delicious. The cherry bombs were great, too. We both ordered the ribeye, and were so pleased. We make steaks at home that are better than most restaurants, so it was nice to taste a really well-prepared steak dinner. The dessert, La Playa, was created so beautifully that we didn't want to eat it. Highly recommend this place. If you have someone coming from out of town, go here!"

  • "We brought my 78-year old mom; it was especially fun since her mother had worked here as a teller years ago! The gorgeous, cavernous space is echoey but the tradeoff is you can't hear other conversations, so feels at once huge and intimate. I've been here for lunch & private events in the vault, yet this was first exposure to full dinner menu. The beef was amazingly tender, the smoked chicken & waffles delicious, and my mahi perfectly balanced. I personally LOVED the calamari appetizer: lightly breaded, on a delicate slaw bed, with just the right amount of heat. Service was excellent. Server was happy to split a few shared dishes. It felt like a special occasion restaurant as we were all plated at once—nice touch that made us feel special!"

  • "Four of us enjoyed a lovely night at Crop Bistro in February. All of us had something different- the waiter even surprised a guest since she couldn't make up her mind. Paul added some fun to the evening. Food, service, ambience were all excellent. I would definitely go back. Would love to see what their summer menu looks like. The wine list was quite comprehensive and there were some creative mixed drink selections as well."

  • "first time very refreshing from start to finish apps great entree's good pairings without boundrys felt we were in a much larger city cant wait to go back, also was highly reccomended by our younger daughter who found it a good fit in her mid 20s age range"

  • "Great setting and nice service, but the good quality has deminished. I think this may be my last trip there. Notes for others - The cerry bomb appetizer was the highlight. Very creative and good. On the down side, we all also split the popcorn with truffle oil and something on it made us all feel ill the next day (I would avoid that one). The bolonaise was overly creamy and included undercooked carrots. I hope the improve soon as it used to be a great place."

  • "We came in from out of state to spend a weekend in Cleveland. My wife and I capped of our trip with dinner at Crop Bistro. The food was fantastic, however that atmosphere stole the show. The restaurant is in an old bank building, and the space is amazing. High decorative ceilings and an open floor plan make dining here exciting. Back to the food, we started off with a cheese plate, with 3 cheeses. I would highly recommend this, as the cheeses that we chose were a treat. My wife ordered steak, and I, the fried pork chop. Both were perfect. Desert was a bit of a letdown, but all in all, our experience was great, and the bill was very reasonable!"

  • "Stunning dining room in a great OHC location. Cocktails excellent, but pricey. To start, we ordered chili deviled eggs--good, but not as spicy as expected--and balsamic popcorn, which was really great. Then, we had a snapper special with mushroom risotto, which was very good, and the seasonal vegetables with brown rice, which was disappointingly bland. For dessert, we had Pretzel Unlogic, which would have been better with a crispier crust. Service was a bit inattentive. We weren't ignored, but our server didn't seem interested to be there. She was unfamiliar with one of the signature cocktails, and she had to read the special . . .Odd for a high-priced venue. Overall, a good experience, but we will try another restaurant before going back."
