A word from Crispo
Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002.

Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine.

We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004.

Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs.

Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

  • "A go-to neighborhood Italian serving modern, authentic, fresh cuisine. Always good."

  • "I'm a regular here and highly recommend their fresh pasta. But one of their best dishes unfortunately disappeared from the menu. I hope they'll bring the bucatini back"

  • "Outstanding dishes: Short rib ravioli, Bone Marrow Oreganato, Zucchini Blossoms Good service, tight seating, great food. Location is cool with the brick and the cellar-feel. Will be back."

  • "I brought my family in from Michigan and we truly enjoyed ourselves! Every dish was delicious and there is lots to choose from. The setting felt intimate, lit with candles! Service was excellent and the birthday cheesecake was amazing! Highly recommended !"

  • "We done here every 6 months or so, usually with others who haven't yet experienced the food and ambience! Once again, the zucchini blossoms, kale and squash salad, spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli a were a hit. Finished it off with the delicious creme brûlée and pot du chocolat and a bowl of fresh berries and creme! Service was attentive and friendly, as always!"

  • "They had one of the best pastas!! Amazing carbonara."

  • "This is a go to place for consistent, well-rounded rustic Italian at its finest! Great courtyard dining, superb food and friendly service. Carbonara is amazing, but the spinach short rib raviolis were nothing short of out of this world. We always can rely on a fun atmosphere, top notch food and a real crowd pleaser, especially for out of town guests."

  • "Close to home and a favorite place to bring out of towners. Food very good. Honored request for garden seating no problem. Service a bit in attentive. Had to get up and flag someone down twice."

  • " They honored the reservation to the moment. We came in, they told us the table was almost ready in the back, in the atrium. It was a perfect seating, we had asked to sit in that section via Open Table reservations. The food we ordered was great, delicious. Their prices are very reasonable, the food is very good, and the staff is friendly and respectful. I highly recommend, Crispo."

  • "What an amazing experience. Great casual restaurant with many options! Atmosphere and outdoor dining was fantastic."

  • "Entering a dim cellar area that was a contrast as we walked off W 14th. Friend recommended the place for our anniversary - quiet, romantic that allowed for conversation and time to enjoy our meal. We ordered 3 plates from their Antipasti. The risotto balls were the highlight. We shared their Chopped Salad which was ok. My husband had the pork shank which he enjoyed. The meat fell easily off the bone with slight touch of his fork. I enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara - a Crispo signature dish. It came with a poached egg on top which I quickly integrated into the pasta creating a nice sauce with the prosciutto. My husband wasn't impressed with the zeppoles - fried dough is better at a street fair. I enjoyed the tiramisu."

  • "Always a wonderful dining experience. A simple olive served as garnish explodes with flavor. Never disappointed!"

  • "food and service above average BUT very noisy and a bit chaotic atmosphere"
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Sat in the open back room area which is a cool place, but very noisy when the all the tables are occupied. Not sure how you fix that, but some of the walls could have fabric hangings on them. We had pastas which were good, but my meatballs were dry and without character. Fairly good value for money"

  • "All the entrees were outstanding. Service was prompt and efficient. Desserts were a hit."

  • "I am a frequent visitor of crispo. The wait staff is a hit or miss. The waitress we had was just rude and unfriendly. If she was having a bad day then don't let it on your patrons."

  • "We have been here several times, this time we brought friends who are real foodies. Well they are still talking about since Friday eve. We had salmon, branzino, and the ink seafood pasta. Followed by the cheese cake, and zeppoles. All amazing definitely worth going to."

  • "We love Crispo because of the numerous and various appetizers! We sat in the garden. Quite lovely... though it was extremely loud and warm. We will be back!"
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "It's great out back but the large groups made it unbearably loud. We went inside and it was great."

  • "Always delivers, the food just gets better here. The ambiance is great, staff friendly and professional. The garden room is wonderful in the summer. A real winner!"

  • "We enjoyed dinner in the back garden at Crispo, a lovely spot with enough noise to allow private conversation, but not so loud as to be a problem. The mozzarella risotto balls, and the cheesecake dessert were good, but nothing extraordinary -- but the pork shank and the gnocchi verde were both very, very good. Service left us waiting a bit longer than I expected at times."

  • "Everything we had was delicious. The brussel sprouts, cauliflower and risotto balls were all very tasty. The standout dishes for us were the Spaghetti Carbonara “3p Classic” Pancetta, Smoked Pancetta & Prosciutto and the fettuccine in lobster sauce special. A solid reliable restaurant choice!"

  • "It was our time at Crispo and we loved it. The staff is friendly and always attentive. The food was delicious. I had veal Marsala, when it arrived my first thought was oh no it's thick and it's going to be tough but it was so tender I thought I was eating filet mignon. We also had the salmon special and two small dishes. We were pleased with everything. Can't wait to go back! "

  • "Excellent food and service. Tables very snug!Would certainly return on another visit to New York."

  • "Great food! Was a bit noisy & tables close together but other than that really enjoyed our evening. Loved our server, she was very sweet & helpful in recommending dishes."

  • "Went on a Saturday evening. Crispo's was packed with people. A few tables street side looked cozy, but hectic with al the coming and going. Main restaurant had a hip vibe. We sat in the back garden room. Really nice experience as the weather was perfect. We were seated immediately and attended to fairly quickly. We had a nice time at the restaurants but I am not sure I'd rush back unless in the neighborhood. Food was good, we had Salmon and Chicken Parm. Salmon was a bit undercooked and had to go back to the kitchen. Ricotta cheesecake was ok. Noise level was high so conversation was challenging. Larger groups seem to be seated in the garden. We were 2 people. Nice restaurant, but nothing was remarkable enough for us to rush back."

  • "I went here for dinner with my boyfriend on a recent trip to NYC and it was fabulous. I loved the classic italian food. All the staples were on the menu and were near perfection. Thanks you for such an enjoyable meal!"

  • "This was my third time to Crispo. We took our foodie friends from Austin. They were blown away. With every bite they shook their heads in disbelief at how good it was. The homemade ricotta and burratta, the amazing brussel sprouts, the caramelized cauliflower, Grilled Branzino, truffle ravioli. There wasn't one thing which was less than amazing. This pace is a true New York find. It's a neighborhood restaurant with "foodie" quality ingredients. Perfect price point. Crispo is my go-to place when I want to impress friends from out of town without breaking the bank."

  • "Tucked away on 14th St this restaurant with a small street terrace is a great find. Enjoyed my homemade lasagne & house red. Felt comfortable and well looked after as a single diner. Would be a great place to eat with friends too. "

  • "Made dinner reservations for a friend's birthday this past Sunday. Waiter was very good and attentive without being smothering. Found a hair in risotto ball, dish was comped. Got a birthday dessert on the house. Noise level was moderate throughout whole restaurant, but woman sitting at table next to ours found our chatter to be obnoxiously loud and kept giving us dirty looks and making comments. I would come back on my own or with my husband since we have been here several times and enjoy the food. My friend probably won't come back because her first experience here was less than ideal."
