Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent food, good service, reasonable prices. What more could you ask for."

  • "Overall a disappointing experience. Food felt overpriced for what it was, wine list was not nearly as extensive as I would have thought going in, and the food itself was mediocre at best. For a restaurant servin a lot of italian dishes, the tomato and mozzarella salad was anemic at best. It was flavorless, with no seasoning, and possibly with the worst tomato I've ever been served in a restaurant. Entrees weren't much better, with chicken coming out overcooked and so dry, it had to be helped down with some mash potatos with each bite. Will not be dining here again."

  • "enjoyed the meal - nice ambiance; however, they had run out of several of my food choices"

  • "Excellent, excellent food, varied menu, great (and well-priced) wine selections. Friendly service, competent, but needs a bit of fine-tuning (they seemed under-staffed). Only real downside is the lighting needs to be turned down one notch, and the music two or three. We were there on a Friday evening, certainly past happy hour time and into dinnertime, and the sports on the large flat screens by the bar and the loud music detracted from having a relaxing dinner conversation. That said, the food really was good (and vegetarian friendly) and I'll definitely add Crispin's to my neighborhood go-to list. The fact that it's a bit off the beaten path is a plus!"

  • "Now I understand why this restaurant was empty at 7:30 on a Thursday night. Were out of calamari and meatball app, which was a bad sign. Wound up ordering muscles which were way too fishy. Asked the waiter for opinions on entree and he said the best one was the pork chop, but that they were also out of that for the night. The restaurant advertised their homemade pastas which sounded delicious but disappointed. The homemade gnocchi were mushy doughy balls. No one enjoyed their food and what sounded like a great menu was highly disappointing."

  • "A bit off the beaten path, on 10th Avenue, this new, cute, neighborhood place needs to be supported. The food and service are quite good and the prices are reasonable. They need to keep their wine list updated, as our first choice of wine was not available. Normally I would not mention this, but many reviewers on Yelp mentioned it as well so it is obviously an recurring problem."

  • "This was our first visit to Crispin's. Nice neighborhood place. I believe they pride themselves on their wine list, and we ordered a wine we wanted, only for the waiter to return and tell us they did not have it. We ordered another, and the same story - they did not have our second choice. Finally on selection 3, we got one we ordered. Our food selections were fine, service was OK. Our waiter was new on the job, and we asked questions about some of the wines, and he was not knowledgeable at all. As it is a nice, quiet restaurant, the food was good, we will give the place another try at some point. Hopefully better with respect to wait service and wine selections."

  • "Food and character along with a very nice wine list at a reasonable price, how could you ask for more. Also convenient to the theatre which was an added bonus"

  • "This is a very nice little restaurant with excellent food and service. It is not fancy, but a definite neighborhood find. We would recommend it to others and will go back ourselves when in that area of town."
