I've eaten at Crispin's on several different occasions. Each time I tried a different entree and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The only drawback to dining at Crispin's is the entrees are overpriced for my liking.

When I walked in, loud rock music was playings, which set a distinctive non-Italian, non-intimate tone. The service was nice. The menu was uninteresting and stale. The food was unremarkable.

We went to Crispins after a taping of the Jon Stewart Daily Show - 3 mins walk from the studio. Had salad app and pasta main course - both were absolutely excellent...especially the Lobster ravioli - a steal at $20! Service was very good, atmosphere was great (win bar/rustic eatery) - would recommend to anyone!

It's hard to find a place near Times Square that isn't either mediocre or packed. This place is just far enough off the path not to be packed and good enough for the the extra block. The food is cared for and the service is even better- worth the visit and can't wait to go back.

What a nice neighborhood find! After we saw a show on Broadway, we walked a few blocks to Crispin's for dinner. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a nice table in the rear of the restaurant which gave us a nice view of the other tables and the street. Our meals were delicious, I had the scallops and my husband had the pasta with clam sauce. We were eager to have a Tartufo for dessert but they were out of that and our second choice, Tiramisu. We opted to finish our wine and skip dessert. Overall a good value. We will return when we are in the neighborhood again.

You'll have to wait for service. That said, the portions are quite generous and you'll likely have leftovers. Somewhat noisy; I mind because of a hearing impairment. The food is good, not great. Maybe just a busy night (indeed, it was Friday and a friend who dined on another night had no complaints about service.) if you're hungry and it's not Friday, it's a deal by NY standards

An innocuous neighborhood corner restaurant that holds delicious surprises within. It's a simple place, but we were taken care of by an extremely attentive and surpassingly formal waiter who brought us the most delicious food. I had a delicious snapper dish, and my party of five had all different main dish's ranging from a seafood pasta to a broiled chicken. Everyone insisted that everyone else try theirs,, it was al that good. When was the last time that happened to you and your family/friends. We look forward to our next soiree to Crispin's.

Good reviews led me to Crispin but it was not to be. It took almost 30 min to flag down a server and we ordered both drinks and food together in hopes of getting either or both. FIVE attempts to finally get bread and an hour before the salads came. The maître de tried to make it all go away by offering a round of drinks and sending over two small desserts but it was too little too late. The food was good, for sure, but not worth the stress of such a disorganized place. And there were two extra charges on our bill. I won't be returning.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 2/14/2014
Overall a disappointing experience. Food felt overpriced for what it was, wine list was not nearly as extensive as I would have thought going in, and the food itself was mediocre at best. For a restaurant servin a lot of italian dishes, the tomato and mozzarella salad was anemic at best. It was flavorless, with no seasoning, and possibly with the worst tomato I've ever been served in a restaurant. Entrees weren't much better, with chicken coming out overcooked and so dry, it had to be helped down with some mash potatos with each bite. Will not be dining here again.

Excellent, excellent food, varied menu, great (and well-priced) wine selections. Friendly service, competent, but needs a bit of fine-tuning (they seemed under-staffed). Only real downside is the lighting needs to be turned down one notch, and the music two or three. We were there on a Friday evening, certainly past happy hour time and into dinnertime, and the sports on the large flat screens by the bar and the loud music detracted from having a relaxing dinner conversation. That said, the food really was good (and vegetarian friendly) and I'll definitely add Crispin's to my neighborhood go-to list. The fact that it's a bit off the beaten path is a plus!

Now I understand why this restaurant was empty at 7:30 on a Thursday night. Were out of calamari and meatball app, which was a bad sign. Wound up ordering muscles which were way too fishy. Asked the waiter for opinions on entree and he said the best one was the pork chop, but that they were also out of that for the night. The restaurant advertised their homemade pastas which sounded delicious but disappointed. The homemade gnocchi were mushy doughy balls. No one enjoyed their food and what sounded like a great menu was highly disappointing.

A bit off the beaten path, on 10th Avenue, this new, cute, neighborhood place needs to be supported. The food and service are quite good and the prices are reasonable. They need to keep their wine list updated, as our first choice of wine was not available. Normally I would not mention this, but many reviewers on Yelp mentioned it as well so it is obviously an recurring problem.

This was our first visit to Crispin's. Nice neighborhood place. I believe they pride themselves on their wine list, and we ordered a wine we wanted, only for the waiter to return and tell us they did not have it. We ordered another, and the same story - they did not have our second choice. Finally on selection 3, we got one we ordered. Our food selections were fine, service was OK. Our waiter was new on the job, and we asked questions about some of the wines, and he was not knowledgeable at all. As it is a nice, quiet restaurant, the food was good, we will give the place another try at some point. Hopefully better with respect to wait service and wine selections.

The place is clearly disorganized or it was on the night we went. They said something about the computer being down when we walked in so they couldn't access our reservation, and when the waiter came over he gave us a long list of items on the menu that were not available. Amazingly long list. The food was decent but there are so many great Italian restaurants in the city that this one isn't one I'll go back to.

This place is new and close by so we really wanted to try it out and see what it was like. I think it is just starting to find it's feet because for a Friday there were not too many people present. The whole vibe wasn't helped by the "thumping tunes" playing throughout so they may want to have a think about turning it down until they fill out a little. The menu itself looks like a straight lift from Bocca de Bacco but fortunately the quality is better. Overall the food was average but hopefully they will get a little more creative and popular in the weeks and months to come.

Crispins is a new place that opened in Hells Kitchen in July 2013. I live in the neighborhood so have been a couple of times for dinner. While they are still figuring out a few things (service was a bit slow on the 1st visit but much improved on the 2nd), it's overall a great little place and a true local gem. Staff were very friendly, there is an extensive wine list, and food has been great -- the short rib is particularly delicious!
