"The food parings were a odd combination of flavors. I order the yellow tuna, which was great, but it was paired with sour pickeled green beans and very sweet polenta. My other guest were also puzzled at the combination of foods on their main course. The salad and bread were delicious as were the drinks. Really pricey too."

"We really enjoyed our dinner. Shared the mushroom soup and sauteed mushrooms; my husband had the beef tenderloin and I had the venison and both were excellent. For dessert we both had the wonderful creme brulee. My only complaint is that the restaurant was pricey and they charged for each soda refill which is chintzy in such an expensive place. We came primarily to hear Blake Pace in the Piano Palour, and he was fantastic, as usual."

"It was our 2nd visit to Crippens -the first was years ago. It was every bit as delightful as the 1st- the Chocolate infused filet was the reason for our return and we were not disappointed when we all ordered it again and again were amazed with the unbelieveable combination of flavors! Our favorite restaurant and favorite meal!"

"One of our very favorite places to go for that special night out. In fact, it makes a night out special! The menu is always different, and makes you want to try everything. We particularly like to go in a small group of four or six so that we all can order different items and sample each. The new desert chef has taken your last memory of the meal to a new height. A trip to Blowing Rock would not be complete without one or two meals at Crippens."
