Diner Reviews
  • "We had been given lots of recommendations for our recent trip to NOLA but no one mentioned Crescent City Brewhouse. However, my husband loves microbreweries so we decided to have lunch there. He tried the 5 sampler beer and particularly liked the Weiss and Black Forest (as did I and I'm not a beer drinker). The food was delicious...I had the BLT and he had the étouffée. Best of all was the service. Peter B. was excellent, attentive without being obtrusive. We cannot recommend Crescent City Brewhouse enough."

  • "Ate here last year while in NOLA but just sat at the bar and had oysters which were great. Came back this year and decided to go there for a quick pub food dinner. We both ordered poor boys, a shrimp and a pork. Neither were very good. Pretty much the worse poor boys we ever had. Very disappointing meal."

  • "Stopped in for lunch, and it was great! My waiter, whose name I forget (skinny and I think tall too, young fella) was very knowledgeable about the menu, and his suggestions were spot on, both the lunch and the drinks. I was very impressed and WILL return next time I'm in N.O."

  • "Birthday party for girlfriend. Couldn't have been better! Service fantastic, food some of the best in New Orleans. If you miss going here, you have missed a great time."

  • "We went for the beer and we blown away by how good the food was! Everything we had was excellent. The seafood cheesecake so delicious. The oysters were also great, as was the duck. We loved it."

  • "I was somewhat disappointed in the portion size in relation to the cost of the meal. I had the red fish with a soft shell crab ($30) and my wife had grouper w/crab meat ($23). There was no bread provided with the meal. While the quality was OK, not worth the price paid. Beer was good. I would say that the service person was attentive but it was by far not great service."

  • "This is a very typical tourist restaurant in New Orleans and if you are visiting for the first time, you should at least try this place. Food is fine, service is nice, beers are excellent, and you will have the full tourist experience. Why not--you're a tourist. For truly wonderful food, go elsewhere."

  • "Admittedly I am not a beer connoisseur but I found the beers pretty good. My wife and I wanted to try something lighter after two consecutive big, New Orleans type meals and we were pleasantly rewarded at the Crescent City Brewery. I had a good, solid burger and she had a better than expected crab cake."

  • "Not only was the beer great the food was just as good. The Redfish Pontchartrain was awesome. Great way to end our trip."

  • "The food was nothing to write home about. I had the sausage platter and my husband had the jambalaya pasta. Both were relatively bland but not bad."

  • "I went to the brewhouse the Wed after mardi gras so the city was a little less crowded. Overall great experience, our food came out quickly, great beers, and our server was adorable. Perfect last night in NOLA"

  • "The atmosphere in this place is great, the fresh oysters were really really tasty. The rest of the food were good, but nothing spectacular. Overall we had a wonderful time there!"

  • "The beer is fantastic and the food compliments it well! It is a little pricey but well worth it. You can purchase to go beer growlers for when you fall in love with their beer."

  • "Got several recommendations from some craft beer junkies around the area and really enjoyed the experience. My girl friend absolutely loved the steak and the beer sampler was great in deciding which of your beers I liked. Would definitely return again next time I'm in New Orleans."

  • "We appreciated the prompt service, the live music, the beer selection, and the food. The prices were moderate, too."

  • "Saturday night at 7. reservations went great. however the staff was unfriendly as we were waiting for the other people to move from the bar to the table a waitress from another section took our menu and silverware for 3 of the people before they got from bar to table and acted like i was wrong to say something to her for doing it. i order a steak and it was good but i could not finish it because i ate to many wings by the way they were great . so here i am with about 3/4 of my steak left and after dinner the waiter comes by and grabs my plate , thinking he is putting it in a Togo bag i let him , however he threw it in trash. a 30 dollar steak that had literately 4 bites taken out of it. he just threw it in the trash ."

  • "Seating was quick and easy. Service was prompt and reasonably attentive. The food was alright too. This is a good restaurant, but this is in New Orleans, and there is nothing remarkable or quaint about it. That may be just what you want, a straight forward, no hassle brew pub with good food."

  • "Good food, prices great. Beer excellent. Their raw oysters are fresh shucked and grest!"

  • "Great appetizers.. The meat pie and wings were great. The entrees were awfull. I ordered the pulled pork po boy, it should have been called the pulled fat po boy. my friend orderdd the same thing and he got all fat also. Why would serve this to people? The steaks were way undercooked. Why would you call your self a brew pub when you only offer four different kinds of beer?"

  • "We ate here for an early dinner our first night in NOLA. Our server (Sarah) was great. She was very attentive and helpful in recommending foods. We tried the fried alligator bites to start.....they were pretty good. Then we ordered the Shrimp and Grits dish, the Fried Shrimp Po Boy , the fried catfish po boy and the grouper on flatbread. All the dishes were very good. The flavors on the grouper flatbread were all very good! Would recommend for a good casual dinner."

  • "Went to crescent city brewhouse with a group of 6 for my husband's birthday. The service was excellent despite being busy for New Year's Day and the night before the sugar bowl. Very accommodating to groups as there were several parties larger than ours dining at the same time. The food was excellent!! Oysters were very fresh, some of the best our group has ever had. Our favorite entree is the full slab of ribs. They fall off of the bone and melt in your mouth, With a tasty sweet and mild sauce. Not a huge fan of microbreweries but the wheat beer was pretty good. Definitely will go back the next time we are in town. Love the local art hanging around the restaurant and facts about the brewing process."

  • "Of all the restaurants we visited in NOLA, this one was one of the best. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. If we hadn't had other places to visit I'd have come back here more than once."

  • "Second night in a row here, this time stuck to beer and burgers and did not disappoint. Relaxed, great beer, but, please don't venture into the local food. The burger was great, the ribs were also great."

  • "I read the reviews before making a reservation, and decided to go here for the music and beer. My husband enjoys life music and plays music, so he liked the nightly act. Something we did not realize first time we came here: live music is over by 9 pm, so plan a 6 pm dinner . We ordered the beer sampler first, and both agreed it was great. The weiss beer was our choice for the night. As far as food goes, nothing special , salty fatty bar food with a Cajun twist and restaurant prices. As far as ambience, the place was relatively quiet for a bar, even after the music started. The band is at front of the restaurant, and our table was in the middle on the first floor, we could still enjoy the music and have a conversation."

  • "This was our third year in a row visiting New Orleans prior to Christmas and, similarly, our third year in a row for Crescent City Brewhouse. It did not disappoint! Love their brews, and the dinner was excellent with great service. Our dinner companions brought their 11-year-old twins, and there was something for them as well. Thanks again for a lovely evening."

  • "The food was pretty good. Wife had the beer-garden salad, and I had a very nice pork po-boy. However we had expected live music and it wasn't happening on Christmas Eve, despite advertising online and on the door. Asked our server and she never got back to us on this, and also forgot our appetizer until I reminded her. The beers are good but the overall experience was underwhelming."
