CreolaThe service was great!.. theThe service was great!.. the food was delicious!,.. .6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm trying to think if thereI'm trying to think if there was a way to make the food better, and the only thing I could come up with is bigger portions. I got the Jambalaya and my dinner partner got the Salmon and I found myself scooping up the apple glaze on the Salmon almost as much as I did the bisque. The chicken that came with the Jambalaya was absolutely, text book, cordon bleu perfect. The deserts were "cute" and tasty. I could not eat the jambalaya fast enough, I can't say enough about the food here and the service was more than attentive. 4.5/56/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FindWent here to celebrate a birthday and everyone really liked the food. Shrimp was good, crawfish was good, buttermilk chicken was excellent. Had to place another order of the taco tuna tartar, it was delish. Bread pudding was also a great choice!
Service on the other hand was mediocre. I'll leave it at that.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur third visit. Really goodOur third visit. Really good food and outstanding service.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceThe food was great, the service excellent, the seating perfect! We enjoyed every minute of our dinner. I recommend the bisque and the appetizers (all of them). We could not decide between the Jambalaya and the Taste of New Orleans, so we got both. Excellent. We will dine again in this restaurant.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best is still the bestMy husband and I found this gem of a restaurant years ago, when we lived in the area, and even though we now live in Morgan Hill, we still make the trek to Creola for special occasions. The ambiance is heart warming, the food is to die for, the whole dining experience can not be duplicated anywhere else.
For us, Creola is a 5 star eatery.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!My husband and I looooove Creola! We love New Orleans and this restaurant never fails to bring us back to when we were there enjoying the food, atmosphere, service and special New Orleans food and drinks. We always take friends and family there for a different and special kind of meal. Can't wait to go there again.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, feels like NOLAThey have a pre-fix menu in addition to the ala carte menu and that is quite a steal. The portions are large, the food is great, the hurricane is good, any of the chicken dishes such as the Sunday Chicken and the Fried Chicken are finger licking good. The Bread pudding is excellent.
Let the Good times roll5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBack in NOLA!Great food! Always fresh fish cooked just right! It's like you are in the French Quater!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Amazing! This is my third time at Creola, all of which has been for a special occasion. The service and food is always amazing. However, it tends to be a little to warm in the restaurant in the early evening. My mother always enjoys the bread pudding. I love the pecan pie cheesecake . This is one of our favorite places.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMyummygreat food, best beignets this side of the missippi!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMContinued Good FoodDelightful! We always look for a new opportunity, but why fuss with success? You cannot miss with Creola.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy AnniversaryCreoLa is our favorite restaurant! We recently moved from San Carlos to the East Bay, but made it a point to visit CreoLa for our anniversary. The food was amazing, as always. We highly recommend checking out this restaurant for lunch or dinner...4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, we had a really niceOverall, we had a really nice time there. Our server Jesse was a very nice young man and was very accommodating, as we had a few special requests. The food was prepared very well, and we enjoyed the dishes very much. Until the age of 20 or so, I spent about a third of my life in New Orleans, as my late mother was from there. I am also a very capable chef and this kitchen puts out great dishes...4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for the price pointExcellent for the price point ($30 Mardis Gras special, appies, salad, entree and dessert). Highly recommend the hushpuppies and crispy Boudin balls. Jambalaya was excellent as was the Shrimp Etoufee. Tables are a bit close together, but its a fairly small venue. Service was excellent.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe tried to get in on a WednesdayWe tried to get in on a Wednesday night and they were booked until 8 pm. So we made reservations for Friday night (still couldn't get in until after 7). The place is very popular because the food is really great. We all chose something different from the menu and it was all delicious. Couldn't pass up dessert. My favorite is the bread pudding. Our service was slow but they don't rush you so you can enjoy your dinner. Overall I'd say that the food is great but a bit expensive. Definitely worth it if you want something different.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! AmazingGreat restaurant!
Amazing food great service! Will go there again!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Reasonably PricedMy husband and I dined for the first time at Creola on April 19th. The food was very good and you get lots of it. He ordered a side of red beans and rice that was suitable for a meal. Also, his jambalaya came with a wonderful grilled chicken breast that we were not expecting. You definitely don't go away hungry here. The drinks and wine were good and everything was quite reasonably priced. They also have what looks to be a great price fixe menu for only $24. We will definitely go back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and a wonderfulGreat food and a wonderful staff. We had the chef/owner, Edwin, be our server and he did a phenomenal job getting us everything we needed in the 1-1/2 hours we requested, from appetizers, soups/salads, entrees and to finish off with dessert.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a very nice experienceIt was a very nice experience - the food was very tasty (especially the Ahi), the ambience is pleasant, the service was very friendly without being intrusive. We'll go there again for sure4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent. ServiceFood was excellent. Service needs work. Waited at least 15 minutes (and that's being kind) for server to run my credit card and bring me my bill. That ruined my whole experience-being that service wasn't up to par with only two tables left (and I was one of the of two).4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat creole and cajun inspiredGreat creole and cajun inspired foods. This is not like grandma used to make but is fresh versions of some creole classics. I enjoyed the crawfish etouffe and the fried okra.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were 6 of us dining,There were 6 of us dining, celebrating a birthday. They were welcoming and the food was good. This was the first time for many in the party and all said they would return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was overall prettyThe food was overall pretty good. The Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee and gumbo are very good, not the best I've had, but very good. My wife ordered the Red Beans and rice which was supposed to have Andouille Sausage but it tasted exactly like standard smoked sausage. It is strange that both the gumbo and the red beans and rice both have Andouille and only the gumbo tasted like Andouille. The restaurant was noisy but, we were able to have a conversation without yelling. The service was very good, I have no real complaints, the servers did a good job. So far this is the best Creole food that I have had in the Bay area.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service! DrinksGreat food and service! Drinks were great!Host was very accomandating to our early arrive and offer us drinks. The waiting area is cute...felt like i was a guest in someone's home. Felt like I was in New Orleans. Def. get the steak and crawfish! Reasonsable priced!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMhave been there b4 but yearshave been there b4 but years ago and have been wanting to go back. Food is xcellent. Have not had a better roast chicken (sunday chicken), when I go to a restaurant w/ a roast chicken dish, am always afraid that it'll be dry, this definitely wasn't. We had the pre fixe menu ($30 for choice of appetizeer, salad, choice of entree, dessert), what a value! Also, they make the best red beans and rice that I've had anywhere. And there fried chicken is not to ignore. wonderful.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI have enjoyed eating at thisI have enjoyed eating at this fine restarant since it opened. It is always fantastic .
A possible side effect of Cerola is that you wil want to eat there often.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is an excellent restaurantThis is an excellent restaurant with terrific food and service - this is a must frequent!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the Mardi Gras specialWe had the Mardi Gras special menu. Everything on it was very good and just the right amount of food - not too much, not too little. I would go back again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, authentic New OrleansVery good, authentic New Orleans cuisine. Bourbon shrimp and hush puppy appetizer were excellent. The taste of New Orleans was a hit at our table with a solid etouffee and a very good soft-shell crab. Good service and a decent wine list as well. Fairly reasonable. Highly recommended.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always the food and serviceAs always the food and service were wonderful. Eddie has created a restaurant that is comfortable and yet so special......it is our go to for celebrations....xo3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a table of 13 and everyoneWe had a table of 13 and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food. I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes in the future!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Creola 3 timesI've been to Creola 3 times and have had a wonderful experience each time. The fresh crayfish are as good as those in New Orleans! The hush puppies and crab cakes are also awesome. I have only ordered the fried chicken entree...which means it's so good that I keep coming back for more! My husband really enjoys the jambalaya and roasted chicken.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal, romantic spotWhite linen tables, great cajun food - best I've found in the Bay Area. Love the jambalaya, catfish belle chasse, double cut pork chops (a frequent special), filet mignon. Alligator in interesting but not a standout, roast chicken quite good for the unadventurous. Carry a few good new orleans beers, wine list small but reasonable.
Desserts are house made and delicious, love the beignets and the bread pudding, pecan pie is quite good too.
Often have a special or two on the weekends. If they have the double cut pork chop it's a real standout. Dinner reservations advised but drop-in can work during the week. Service professional and courteous, as you'd expect for a quality, white-linen restaurant.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
