I took two friends there, the food
was good and the service was prompt, but the waitperson appeared stressed and distracted. Maybe having a bad night. I was under the impression he did not expect a good tip and treated us according. I 'very eaten here several times, though, and will continue to recommend this restaurant as a good choice for Albany."

If you're looking for a great
place to take your significant other or have lunch with the girls, Creo is the place. The Ambiance is so modern and elegant. The food was not all that enjoyable but the drinks were wonderful. I would go again because the overall package was great but if you're looking for a place with delicious food I would reconsider."

We dined here on Valentine's Day
2014. The food was good, dessert was excellent, and went early (4:30) and liked that we were not crowded until the table next to us was sat. Luckily they didn't sit down until halfway through the meal. At that point we felt like we were eating dinner with them because they were part of our conversation and we were a part of theirs. There was no way to avoid it. We were close enough to eat off of their plates. Overall high marks but the table (that we sat at) were to close to another table."

Creo delivers a consistent delight
and the gluten-free options make it a top choice for the Albany area"

Food was just ok. Service was slow
- training, not attentive. Music too loud for lunchtime - business lunch. Even heard some of the waitstaff saying to make it lower when we arrived."
Dined on 1/27/2014
Service was very good and the menu
had many selections including specials, the portions are large. Can't wait to return."
Dined on 1/17/2014
Moderate prices, food was
excellent and the service was great. Nice atmosphere, definitely coming back!"

Was looking for a nice place to go
and enjoy an evening with my husband on his birthday! It was everything we wanted! Great food! Our server was exceptional! & the place is beautiful!"
Dined on 1/7/2014
Creo rates superlatives across
numerous categories. The food is delectable, the service fantastic, and a great ambiance in the restaurant which never seems to get too loud for conversation (unlike many restaurants). This restaurant is a find!"

When we arrived had a cocktail at
the bar, great service and.ambience Table was ready on time and sevice and food was excellent Regular menu and a special menu for New Year was available"
Dined on 12/31/2013
Food - excellent! The featured
appetizers and flatbread pizza we ordered were all delicious. We had to remind ourselves to leave room for dinner. Much appreciated the various vegetable selections that are not typically offered, healthily made and wonderful to taste. Service - excellent! In addition to the sit-down, we asked for a takeout and if we could look at the lunch menu for this takeout. Because this was after the lunch menu was closed, the waiter asked to check with the chef. An affirmative response with an apology that it may take a few extra moments (no apology necessary). Waitstaff continued to check on us without interfering with our conversation and meal."

Having started the meal with the
delicious brussel spouts appetizer...we knew that we were in for a treat for the other dishes that we ordered. The halibut on the regular menu was delicious as well as the flat bread pizza....and the pasta with bolognese sauce. The apple pie with vanilla ice cream a wonderful topper to the meal. The only bummer....the restaurant wasn't able to provide the cappucino's we ordered....they apologized...as the person who makes the cappucino had an accident and there wasn't anyone available to take care of the request. oh well.....next time.....and there will be a next time!"

Have eaten here several times
before John O Leary wasn't present but Jay the server was. I didn't sit at Jays seating and John was absent. Food wasn't as good as it's been. Lobster bisque was not good at all may have been old, calamari was the worst I've ever had from there and that's our favorite app. Lobster Mac was good and halibut was cooked very well. But for the $100 bucks for that dinner I was not happy. I've been there before and have had great dishes but lastnight dining there and the pricing just doesn't sit well. I dine at 677 prime on a regular basis and live a mile down the road from Creo. I just feel it's very overpriced in certain aspects mainly appetizers. Dinners are good but apps are too overpriced."

Never liked Brussel Sprouts as a
kid. I blame that on the way my mother cooked them. The roasted Brussel sprout appetizer that they have is amazing!"

service, a definite return to place for a special occasion."

Bar Scene is great, Dining room
atmosphere is perfect. Service is fair at best, the waiter wasn't engaged in our table, it was like we were putting him out"

I was at UAlbany for parents
weekend and we ate at Creo. Nice place with a great menu. The bar service was VERY spotty. We waited a while for our glass of wine. In fact, we were ignored for quite a while. The waiter at the table, however was excellent. We started with then Lobster Mac and Cheese - AMAZING. My wife had a Cipollini. It was was a huge dish and tasty. My son and I had the strip steak. I wasn't impressed with then quality of the steak but it was cooked perfectly. The sides that came with then steak, a squash and a bread pudding were great. Given the limited options in uptown Albany I would go back but it didn't exactly knock my socks off."
Dined on 10/20/2013
All of the food we ordered was
great, especially the appetizers fried calimari and brussel sprouts. The only issue was the portion size on the salads."
Dined on 10/20/2013
I met a friend here for lunch. We
decided to splurge this time. I have been to Creo many times. I ordered the lobster tail with farro and mache. The lobster tail was fine, the farro too salty and spicy for me, and the mache was not particularly fresh. We both ordered tea afterwards, and instead of getting a pot of hot water, we were brought mugs of hot water with nothing to put our tea bags on after steeping, a small but important part of serving tea. Service was acceptable, but the waitress was also trying to serve a large table nearby with about 18 people. So, she was understandably rushed. Overall my experiences are uneven at Creo because the components of a really good restaurant don't come together well here at times."
Dined on 10/10/2013
Although a bit pricey, the food
and service is very good at Creo. Worth a visit!"
Dined on 10/11/2013
my friend and I had a hard time
coming up with a menu choice. The menu needs to be changed and so does the individual wine list."
Dined on 9/30/2013
This restaurant gets better each
time I go. It's a little pricey, but the presentation and quality of the food is always spot on. The filet is to die for."

7 pm reservation with my
girlfriend and my first impressions were that the . The noise level was surprisingly high and that that carried out throughout the evening. Crowd was prob older, would guess mid 40's and up (im 27) I appreciated the seating near the kitchen away from the main dining area. More of a large bench with seats on the opposite side and probably enough tables for roughly 5-6 couples but luckily it was there were only 2 more otherwise it would have been way to tight. Appetizer was great and set the bar pretty high, entrees were good but nothing special, my girlfriends pork was cooked to order, but very dry and cool to the touch and my lobster risotto seemed slightly over salted. Service was poor"

Special occasion dinner planned
with the wife and that's what it was. A little busy/noisy as we were seated near the open kitchen bar, but not unacceptably. And it ensured great service; we could not have asked for better. The food was simply excellent, well prepared and beautifully presented. Not the most extensive menu, but eclectic with many good, unusual choices that made dinner a joyful culinary expedition. Probably not the place to take the younger kids, but a very good choice for adults."

After two days of outdoor
adventures in the Adirondacks, we decided to treat ourselves to a well deserved dining out experience. This was my first time visiting this establishment. Interesting selections (don't understand where pizza fits in) with lots of interesting combinations. They are very accommodating...I wanted the rib eye special with the sides for the NY strip. No fuss, no muss. The blue cheese bacon bread pudding was fantastic! Beet salad was tasty...it was a molded salad of arugula and mixed beets which made for an lovely presentation...a little less dressing would have made it even better. Waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. Don't order the Italian Wedding soup...had to send it back it was terrible."

Original menu, deliciously fresh
food, beautiful décor, personable and efficient service with affordable prices. Add an environmental ethos and you have it all. My favorite restaurant experience in the last year including… several in New York, London, and Montreal! Very creative menu offers unique flavors in many familiar dishes. The presentation was spectacular. My wife’s toasted goat cheese salad and a lobster and avocado tart were beautiful and fresh. I had fresh-from-the-ocean oysters on the half shell and a veal ravioli. Fresh and flavorful... Great place for a special meal but plenty of options to make it affordable as a regular dinner spot."

Been a while since I have been
here, still a very good spot."

The food was delicious. The
waiter, Eric was very attentive and didn't overfill the wine glasses. The special app of beef tartare was prepared perfectly meat was obviously hand chopped no huge chunks of onion-very nice and topped w/micro greens and a horseradish cream accent, delicious. The Swordfish special very generous and done perfectly, very moist. A side of risotto was a big hit. Second dish, Veal Tortillacci. Several large veal ravioli with a nice thick veal red sauce. Yummy. Third dish, Chicken Pesto pizza. Pesto chix, local grape tomatoes (halved so as not to pop hot juices) mozzarella and marscapone cheese, basil, with a thin crust. Desserts flourless choc cake and lemon creme brûlée. Great coffees. Wine list very reasonable."

We stopped overnight in Albany NY
on way to New England and consulted Open Table for dining options once we arrived. We found Creo, as luck would have it, a mile from our hotel. An unexpected treat!"

Food was xcrumptious. Not
recommended for large groups. We had 7."

Creo is a wonderful dining
experience. The food, service and ambiance is above and beyond other area restaurants. We had a great lunch with cocktails, we were not rushed in any way. I would definitely recommend Creo for your next dining experience."

This is one of our favorite
restaurants....you can always count on a wonderful meal and the waitstaff are super friendly....we always look forward to visiting this restaurant when we are in the Albany area!!!!"

Great meal, nice service, friendly
staff and ever changing menu"
Dined on 6/18/2013
If you don't eat red meat or
seafood, this is not the place for you. The ambiance tries too hard to be upscale chic and is rather loud. My food was fine, but not at all spectacular. Perhaps for meat and seafood the menu is a hit. But, there were only 3 vegetarian or chicken choices."
Dined on 6/15/2013
The menu always has interesting
things, so is a good place to explore variations on normal dishes."
Dined on 6/5/2013
We were almost sitting on top of
the diners beside us."

Celebrated my youngest's 12th and
my wife's 45th with dinner. Food is always interesting and freshly prepared. Menu just changed and their were some nice additions. $8 for Mondavi Pinot Noir is a bit pricey for Albany region. Appetizers of Lobster Bisque ($10 each for a cup!), Beef Tips ($14 excellent!), and Kung Pao Calamari ($12 worth it!). Filet Mignon ($36) was nicely done, but again overpriced for this area. Halibut ($32) was well presented and tasty with chunks of lobster mixed in with onions, celery, and corn in the sauce. LRG Ravioli for the birthday boy ($20-favorite) is well worth the price. Wife started with a nice garden salad ($7,pricey). If they lowered prices by about $5 on main entree's, they might be more busy."

Creo is one of my favorite
restaurants in the Albany area. The quality of the food is consistently top notch. So is the service, presentation , and value. Had the lobster roll and it was fantastic. Also love their shrimp and avocado salad and their risotto. The menu is varied enough so that everyone can find something they'll enjoy."
Dined on 5/24/2013
We needed to host a dinner for our
son's graduation. Our table was ready and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a number of appetizers, the lobster avocado tart was amazing and easily fed two people. The Maytag blue cheese chips, very shareable. Salad with shrimp and avocado very fresh . Great variety of choices and none of them disappointed. Our entrees were also very good. I am a huge fan of risotto and their risotto is very unique with real crabmeat on d-lish! The others had the ribeye steak which was prepared exactly how they liked it. Apricot glazed chicken ...another winner. Creo's helped us cap off a very exciting day for our family with a very enjoyable, relaxing dinner celebration. Should have visited sooner!"
