The place was almost to capacity, and yet the service was still second to none. Our orders were taken quickly, after all our questions about the menu were answered by a very knowledgable and charming server. Everyone in our group enjoyed what we each ordered........ from soup, salads, oysters, steak tartar, to omelettes, sea bass, fish and chips, shrimp tempura, etc..... and finally desserts - crepes, home made ice cream, apple strudel, chocolate bomb..,,All delicious, nicely presented and attentively served.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTravelzoo OfferThe diner was very nice and the restauraant has a beautiful decor in a quiet courtyard in the heart of Yorkville. It was unfortunate, however, that as a travelzoo offer the resaurant put an upper limit on the cost of the main course and would not allow you to pay the difference between the upper limit in the voucher and the actual cost of the main courses that we wanted.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect service, delicious foodIt was amazing – the service was excellent – they took a good care of me while I was waiting for my daughter so I didn’t feel lonely.
The food was delicious – I ordered steak mignon - oh, it was so tender, juicy & flavoured. My daughter enjoyed crispy duck leg (duck confit). We weren't sure what we would be in for considering we had a dining voucher...but were very pleased. The food was great (I had grilled calamari, done to perfection, and the bass special), the ambience was wonderful. Very nice experience and would recommend the restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a cozy and romantic lookingIt's a cozy and romantic looking place, unfortunately the tables are a bit too crowded and so it can be a bit noisy. Still, the atmosphere is great and the waiters were lovely and courteous. I had the rabbit and my date had the steak frites, both were very good but not awesome. The mixed greens salad was on the other hand delicious. Portions were good too, not too small not too big. You're given good time between servings to let the food settle, but not too much. The deserts were very good, though they over-baked the lava cake a bit.
The only real knock against the place is the price. Even taking into account the nice atmosphere and the attentive staff, I still felt like it was more expansive than it should've been.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
