Diner Reviews
  • "My friend and I ate here a couple of days ago and opted for the summerlicious menu, which was very good (I would come back to try the other items on the regular menu as well). Sheldon, our waiter, was excellent, making very good food and wine recommendations. Professional service, good food, roomy patio - all in a fun and trendy neighbourhood. Would definitely return."

  • "one of the best patios in TO. summerlicious menu particularly good value."

  • "Very nice setting -- mostly glass-fronted, to let in the maximum amount of light; you could almost imagine you were outdoors even if you weren't. Tables nicely arranged, to allow maximum ease of movement between them. Food ... the bread was wonderful, the texture & temperature suggesting it had very recently come out of the oven. The chicken was flavourful & tender, the accompanying vegetables in a very nicely spiced sauce, just right without being overpowering, & the green beans were lovely & crunchy. As a chocolate addict, it would take gross mismanagement for me not to enjoy a dessert like the chocolate pot de creme -- delicious! My only quibble is that the service could have been just a little faster. Overall, a good experience."

  • "I highly recommend this lovely restaurant. The location is perfect (tucked into a courtyard in Yorkville, so beautiful and peaceful); the food is divine*, the service was absolutely incredible. This is my second (or third) time here, and every single time is wonderful. (This time, we ordered from the Summerlicious menu.) Our server (a woman, don't remember her name) was amazing, and the maitre 'd actually wished me a good evening USING MY FIRST NAME (he must have gotten that from my reservation). Very impressive touch. *I had a heavenly brie-and-fig "bruschetta", their grilled flank steak (so tender!), and a gorgeous chocolate pot de creme for dessert."

  • "You can never go wrong with this restaurant. The ambience is nice. The staff are friendly. The service is good! But most importantly, the food is consistently delicious!"

  • "-service was slow and it was not busy -food did not meet Yorkville expectations--wasn't very fresh -the manager was very friendly"

  • "Very quiet place in a little nook off Cumberland. Easy to miss if you don't know the area too well but it lends itself to a quiet and relaxing time with your company and your meal. Had a Summerlicious lunch experience there and the food had very nice taste combinations - a great example would be the bruscetta with pickled figs and brie. The Moroccan chicken was tender and juicy with a very nice flavour."

  • "A great meal. Again. My favourite place for a languid, sensual, gastronomic meal. The vichyssoise is superb."

  • "Food and service were great. I was expecting the patio to be prettier. It is located on an inner courtyard and is quite noisy."

  • "The whole experience was amazing, from the food to the atmosphere, not to mention amazing wine! I will definitely be coming here more often."

  • "I had a great time at Creme Brasserie. Order the duck steak instead of the regular steak because of the portions. If you are very hungry, you will be disappointed with the portion size. If you had a good breakfast, its a good find."

  • "Food was excellent. Pleasant atmosphere and great service. It's tucked away in a central courtyard so it's quiet, no traffic to be seen or heard. A pleasant place to dine"

  • "Creme Brasserie has an amazing outdoor patio that is located in a quiet square off the main street. We were hoping to sit outside, but as it was early in the week no one else was on the patio so we ate inside. Hopefully next time we can enjoy the outdoor patio! The food was tasty and the service was very attentive."

  • "I was looking for a restaurant close to Koerner Hall as we had a concert to go to that evening. We were a party of 6 varying in ages from 21-90.After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It is a lovely spot in a pedestrian lane-way between Cumberland and Yorkville Rd. You can easily sit quietly outside or inside, either way it was very bright and relaxing. Everyone's food from the appetizer, entrees and desserts were fabulous! Service was very good and the meals were reasonably priced; especially for the area. A party of 6 left for just over $600 with a generous tip and that was with wine, beer, appetizers, entrees, coffees and dessert. We would definitely return to this restaurant when in the area."

  • "I was in the mood for a great hamburger medium rare and a glass of wine - and they had one with bacon and cheese for $15 - great value - and a good selection of wine. The rest of the menu looked interesting and it was recommended by my lunch mate who goes there often."

  • "Positives: The food was good, we weren't blown away but not disappointed. The table setup was great and good for a group our size (12). When the food arrived, it arrived promptly for all diners, something that is a challenge for larger groups. The kitchen appeared very well coordinated. Negatives: We had an 8pm reservation we weren't seated until 8:45. Overall the front of the house service was very amateur and slow. While waiting for our table, drink orders were placed that never arrived, the wrong drinks arrived several times and one guest found a plastic wrapper in her drink! Even after the restaurant was empty the service was slow."

  • "It is such an enjoyable dining experience to be at Crème. Food is very good, the service is excellent, very friendly, all servers having good humor and very attentive. Everyone in our party of 4 enjoyed the evening very much. Thanks."

  • "This was our second visit to Creme Brasserie. The appetizers were wonderful, we had the beef carpaccio. The mains were also great, Australian (giant) lamb chops and fish. Desserts or the cheese course, both excellent."

  • "We enjoyed our recent dining experience at Crème Brasserie very much. The food and service are terrific and well presented. I enjoyed excellent beef tartare and lamb chops while by partner enjoyed the vichyssoise and the salmon. We even found sensible parking. "

  • "Fantastic restaurant over all. The best steak tartar I've ever had. The Octopus however didn't have the described lemon thought. Lamb Rack was amazing. It's a classy small place with great service. Great for date night or a parents dinner."

  • "3 of us dined here at my birthday. They made an extra effort to make my day special. They decorated my dessert with some birthday theme. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. Everyone in our party had different meals, all of them were delicious. We will go back again."

  • "We were there with a group of six friends on Saturday night. The restaurant was charming, but very tightly packed. Because it was so crowded, it took almost an hour for us to receive our entrées. The noise level, quite honestly, was deafening on a Saturday night. I go here again, but during the week and early."

  • "Service was excellent, not intrusive, but very attentive and pleasant. For appetizer, hubby had the french onion soup which he thoroughly enjoyed (something he very seldom order because they are usually salty and cheap). I had the grilled octopus - very tasty. For Main, I had the striped bass (perfect) and hubby at the salmon with Morrocan spices. Perfect cooked and light, love the sauces. We had the same dessert, chocolate crepe with flambe banana, strawberry, cointreau - love, love, love it."

  • "Went for my birthday with my family and all I can say is wow. Chef Ricardo Roque is a master and put on a spectacular night for us. Wine selection was great as was the service. the staff were knowledgeable and made you feel at home and part of their family which not many places do. The venison is a must try as well as the rack of lamb and steak tartar. The scallops were fabulous including the ribeye. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new spot to try, a foodie who wants something new and especially special moments. Keep up the great work! Greatly enjoyed it. TC"

  • "The food is delicious and the owners are gracious and make you feel as if you are a family friend coming to dine in their restaurant. Warm and inviting and the ambience is casual and inviting. A must for any occasion particularly if there is something special you want to celebrate. Attentive service at its best."

  • "Soups and sauces are very sweet. Not good for diabetics. Wine list is way overpriced. Service is poor, other than tyring to fininsh your wine bottle very quickly so that you are done before the appetizer. Crepes for dessert were cold."

  • "Awesome service. Was a bit loud because of large group party, but still a great experience. Smaller restaurant but very nice. Would like to try the patio when it is nicer outside. A little disappointed with the dessert menu, nothing that interest me."

  • "Great food, spot on, no complaints. Food was well prepared, seasoned and presented. Felt like some love went into it. The chefs here care about their food. Menu was well thought out, but did have some entertaining spelling mistakes. Service was great, friendly and attentive. I like this place, tucked away from the rest of Yorkville. Warm and inviting ambience, great date location. Really great coffee. Looking forward to going back soon."

  • "It was basically my first time eating in the Yorkville area and I'm happy I went to this restaurant. The service was great. I ate with my friends who took pictures of me with my food and we found out later that one of the waiters "photobombed" the pictures but we were fine with that because it is nice to have a waiter with a sense of humor. We tried to mention that we had reserve a table but I guess they couldn't hear us. It didn't matter much since we were seated at a great spot without wait time. The food was great and each dish bursted with flavour. We didn't have to wait long for the food. Overall, it was a lovely restaurant that I was glad to have went to as part of Winterlicious and I hope I can find time to visit again."

  • "I had a great time at Creme Brasserie. Our service was quick, polite, and very helpful. The food was delicious and excellently proportioned, not to small, and was rich and very flavourful without being over spiced."

  • "I had an amazing experience at this restaurant in the Summer, so I insisted with my friends that we'd go for Winterlicious. One of my guests arrived 30 minutes late, our server came to check on us a few times, but was not pushy at all. Food wise, we ordered lamb shank and braised rabbit- both were overly salty. Dessert however were spectacular!"

  • "The restaurant is on the small side, and the bar in the back not easy to sit at. Food was served quickly, well presented. I had a pasta dish that was fantastically prepared."
