Diner Reviews
  • "This is our go-to place for brunch on Sundays. The food is upscale, the staff is friendly and attentive and the mimosas are delicious and plentiful. "

  • "Ricardo was our server, and he was Amazing! he made the whole experience Fantastic! We even hugged him adios! The food was great, yet the mimosa were even better!!!"
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The place was small and intimate and the staff were very nice, generous and helpful (as it was my first time there, my waiter assisted in choosing my meal and he was on the money!). On Sunday the mimosa's were unlimited. My glass was never empty! After we ate, my friend and I stayed to catch up, but we were nicely asked to wrap up our conversation as there were people waiting to be seated. It was not crowded, in my opinion, and there were several open tables to be used (guess there could have been reservations, who knows!). Other than that, I had a great experience there. I'd recommended it."

  • "Known for such a great bottomless brunch, it can definitely get packed quickly. However because of all the busyness, I felt like the host was not very cordial to me while I waited for my friends. He was a little harsh when asking whether or not that everyone in my party was actually coming as if I was kidding. Mind you we were only three. While most people go for the unlimited mimosa brunch, I went for the Bloody Mary one and was overcharged not once but twice. After it was corrected the first time, I still saw that I was charged extra for the coffee, which the menu stated was actually included. But since I had to go, I just paid the extra charge. BUT the food is amazing. My only tip is to make sure to check your bill twice before paying."

  • "I've been to crema now two times, and I'm continually impressed by their brunch. The service could be better in terms of frequency and attentiveness, but otherwise I love this restaurant for a very affordable and fun brunch deal. I highly recommend the mole burrito."

  • "Typically eat here 2-3 times per month. Friends visited and decided to take them here. Food, as always , was terrific and the host/manager was very accommodating to our changing schedule. The wait staff continues to improve, some continue to operate in the weeds, while others are on top of their game - when cocktails glasses are empty, offer a refresher round - don't wait until half of the table guests are within bites of finishing their main course... This is a missed revenue opportunity. The team will improve - and the food always brings us back."

  • "Extensive menu of creative Mexican dishes. Terrific margaritas. Excellent service, explanations and suggestions."

  • "Every time we dine at Crema Restaurante, we are reminded why we love it so much. The Mole Duck is a MUST have. And everything else we order goes back as a clean plate (the chicken budin- yum!) Too boot, the service is always wonderful."

  • "We went to this restaurant with high expectations, but were severely disappointed. The service was fast, but I wish they had taken more time to make the food taste OK. Should have expected"Crema" to put cream in everything, but was still surprised to find the salsa smooth and creamy and, to our taste, not flavorful or spicy at all. We asked for and got some pico de gallo instead and that was OK, but not great. We both ordered tacos- one had fish, one steak. The steak tacos came with basically nothing on them and were essentially pieces of (again unflavored) steak and beans in a tortilla. The fish tacos had way too much mayo (!?) on them. Neither of us wanted to finish our (half-sized) portions. Awful experience overall, would not recommend."

  • "Great brunch menu, and the mimosa deal is fantastic. Food is very unique and delicious. I would definitely go back."

  • "Trying different restaurants over Restaurant Week, booked a table here based on the menu. Tortilla soup! It was excellent. A very charming restaurant, good service, positive vibe. The chile relleno is more like a croquette, the chef is inventive. Will be back."

  • "I met an old friend for lunch at Crema. The ambience was lovely. The service was good. Two drawbacks for me were that there were not as many vegetarian entree choices as I thought there would be, and that when I asked the server whether a particular dish was spicy, he said "No." Unfortunately, our dish was very spicy. My friend lives in California, eats Mexican food regularly, and found it too spicy. Granted, the server might not have considered it spicy for his palate. Still, the overall experience was favorable because our server was nice, the restaurant did not rush us out, and the salad was good. If you like spicy food and are not constrained by your entree selection, you'll probably enjoy this restaurant."

  • "the ambiance doesn't align to the quality of the food. Very well done and creative cuisine but the dining space is rougher and very noisy. I think the basement type environment with low ceilings creates some of this situation."
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "The food was great, and the portion size was perfect (which it didn't seem like at first). I would definitely go again."

  • "I visited Crema during Restaurant Week for Dinner. My party was seated promptly, but we had to wait a long time for the waiter to come to us. Unfortunately, this continued on throughout the night. The restaurant wasn't so full that one could excuse how incredibly late and cold our appetizers were. Luckily, the main course and dessert were served promptly. Portion sizes were small (as expected, I suppose), but the presentation was nice. Overall, the food was good -aside from the cold entrees - but the service was slow and subpar. I don't think it's worth the money, and I'm glad I just went during restaurant week. There are too many options in the city to return to a restaurant were you don't have a great experience...."

  • "I found Crema when I was searching for a new place to eat during restaurant week. Their price fix menu for dinner really drew me in. Extremely happy I chose this place. Great food, (Mexican with a French influence) great vibe and the service was perfect. I have already promoted Crema to my friends on Facebook and have been talking about it to my colleagues in the office. I will go back again - the Skirt steak is a must have!! ."

  • "I am a huge fan of Mexican food and have tried almost all NYC has to offer. This place is at the top if the list the food is off the chain, and 2 pineapple/jalapeño margaritas and you are set!! Don't miss it."
    Dined on 2/17/2014
  • "Unlike many unlimited mimosa brunch promotions in the city, these were actually pretty good, and they were on top of refilling our glasses. It also says on the menu that seating is 1 hour only, but they let us stay longer. Food was good, not like other brunches I've found in the city."

  • "Our first waiter seemed new and was highly inattentive. Then sat down for his break right in front of us without even checking in...we all had empty glasses and didn't realize brunch was over. We did stay for happy hr and ordered additional cocktails with a new waiter but still we had issues. There were only a couple other tables in the restaurant yet any request we had would take 20-30min for a response. Anyway food was delicious. Next time we'll choose a brunch special with unlimited mimosas and such that lasts more than an hr."

  • "First time here and although the service was a bit slow, not sure if our waiter was the only one covering all the tables, the food was really very good. Dishes were creative, presented beautifully and tasted great! Everyone in our group was very impressed. Pricing was in line for quality, ingredients and taste. Would definitely return."

  • "First let me say we love food! Note to restaurant management: At these prices you should NOT be training wait staff during prime time! Not a good look!"
    Dined on 2/9/2014
  • "It's been too long since I dined at Crema and I had forgotten how extraordinary -- complex, flavorful sauces; sparking, tangy, fresh ceviches -- the food is. I won't wait so long to return again; and the additionl of a $35 prix fixe makes regular visits a delicious and economical option."

  • "Cocktails are fresh and tasty! Guac is really good and I especially like the tuna burrito & fillet mignon entree. Oh, also the shrimp. Don't forget to try appetizers too. There are so many really good dishes, I will run out of characters here Service is great and very friendly. I've been a couple of times and really enjoyed myself."

  • "Wonderful, fresh take on Mexican. Everything we ordered was amazingly delicious with just the right amount of kick. It's a pleasant place to sit although the tables are too close together in my opinion."
    Dined on 1/16/2014
  • "We thought the food was terrific, but when it came to dessert, they didn't have the one dessert that was included with the prix fixe, churros, and the other choices weren't appealing. As it turns out, we didn't take the prix fixe, but intended to have the churros. It seems like such a simple dessert and not to have it available was pretty weird. That didn't detract from the appetizer and main courses which were delicious and beautifully presented."

  • "...need I say more? Apparently that is common in NYC, but certainly not what this Bostonian is used to! Mimosas were delicious, food was even better and the attentiveness of the staff was great. We got there for the first reservation at 11:30am and it was quiet, but by the time we left it was packed! Great spot for groups. I definitely recommend checking out Crema!"

  • "Consistently good food and service - always an interesting menu."
    Dined on 12/18/2013
  • "Brunch was better than I expected. But, personally, a bit of a turn off that their menus keep scolding patrons to leave the unlimited mimosa brunch after one hour. Folks...it ain't brunch if you are done in one hour. But they staff let me and my guests chill and enjoy a leisurely brunch anyway."

  • "I went again after a 6 month hiatus and once again I loved the flavors that the chef creates. And that after eating mexican I do not feel laiden with guilt from all the calories consumed. Excellent and highly recommend this restaurant"

  • "I stumbled upon Crema on the NY Mag site, and I am glad I did. The cocktails were different and yummy (spicy margarita, yum!) and the food was wonderful. I will definitely be back!"

  • "The space is very nice, the service was fine and the drinks were excellent... but the food did not quite measure up. Menu was more taco/burrito laden than I expected. Would rather do a Rosa Mexicana / Dos Caminos."

  • "The food was not the regular mexican restaurant you go to its the real authentic mexican food you crave. The flavors are elevated and well balanced. Its the unique dishes that catch your eye and taste amazing. We started with the Queso Flamendos appetizer wow it blew us away. The salsa was so different and amazing. Probably the best salsa I have had at any mexican place. We ordered the veggie tacos and the enchiladas with guacamole and plantins. Everyhting was amazing!"

  • "Good place for a date or special ocassion, great if you come early but can get crowded, seating next to the windows are good and food was also very good, nice mix of spices and cocktails, would recommend to most if you are in the area."
    Dined on 11/16/2013
  • "Food was OK. Felt like a factory. We came for bottomless brunch and it was bottomless.. but not good quality.. not a cute restaurant, so many other better brunch options to go to. I wont go back"

  • "Great brunch experience here. Those mimosas kept on coming! I will definitely be back."

  • "We eat here about once a month. Food is creative, flavorful and portions are good sized. Service is friendly and the staff is knowledgable about menu pairings for sharing. This time, we had the opportunity to sit in the back, close to the small kitchen. The crew was energetic and friendly. Will return."

  • "I was trying to book an 8:00 pm table. Crema showed nothing except a 6:45 seating available. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant from 7:00 to 8:00, so they are no showing valid seating availability and that makes a user of Open Table, like me, doubt their seriousness and question whether they are just forcing you into certain time slots. Of course I'm mad. J"
