A word from Credo
At Credo, we believe that good food and good company go hand in hand. We believe in the time-honored tradition of the dinner table debate and the swirling mix of ideas that makes this country great. We believe simple things can be brilliant, like authentic, responsibly-sourced ingredients, attention to detail and gracious hospitality.

Credo's menu reflects a deep appreciation of Italian culinary traditions combined with Northern California sensibilities. Distilling robust and complex flavors from simple ingredients—including local produce, sustainable fish and imported Italian specialty items—and classic preparations, our selections are quintessentially Italian...with a distinct point of view.

Diner Reviews
  • "We had a large group and were not the only large group in the restaurant at that time, yet service was still swift, attentive, personable and UNhurried. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I have to say I even ate things I know I wouldn't like but were absolutely delicious! The kitchen staff is amazing!"

  • "I am not a vegetarian, but just want to note that Credo does wonderful things with vegetables."

  • "We sat downstairs and the noise level was drastically quieter than upstains"

  • "The staff made us feel welcome for our early dinner. There was an interesting drink menu. Three of us had pasta, the gnocchi was the best. Pillow soft pasta and a wonderful fresh tomato sauce. I had the salted Carmel pot de creme. The roasted, Spanish peanuts were a nice touch. I will return for sure."

  • "it was a little over the volume for my taste. Now, I was there for a business meeting, so it may not be the best for that. However, it is ideal for a friend's hook up or dinner with a group. Lively and energetic environment!"

  • "Have begun to dine here frequently because the food is always great and the staff is always very friendly and professional. What more could you ask for?"
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Italian cuisine blended with a Californian touch. Try the octopus with brussels sprouts, it's excellent."

  • "This was the second time to Credo. The food was great both times. However, the service this round was horrible. Our server kept disappearing or was too busy chatting with coworkers. We had to ask manager for more wine after we were almost through our meals. We were so over it by that time that we skipped dessert. Wish I remembered his name to make sure others could avoid same situation as food is really good."

  • "Credo is a very good restaurant with a good balance of Italian food with a California balance. We were lucky to attend on night when it was not manically busy. The restaurant is not large and while pretty busy the service was attentive and appropriate. The menu is sensible with not too many options. We all ordered a different dish and all were pleased with the quality of the food. A good blend and balance of flavours was common to each. I found the wine list interesting and reasonably comprehensive with a reasonable balance of CA and Italian wines. A return visit is definitely on the cards."

  • "Noise level to high for normal conversation. Luckily we were seated in the lower level."

  • "This was our second visit to Credo and it was even better than our first. The food was perfectly prepared, the service was friendly, fast, and efficient. I consider Credo to be a great find, especially since I can walk there from my home. Highly recommended!"

  • "Louder than we expected. Difficult to carry on a conversation. Tables are very close together. Food was good but not great."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "This is one of those places that has wonderful food, friendly staff, and tables so close to each other you can use your neighbor's salt shaker. As a result it is hard to carry out a conversation. However, the place empties out after 8:30 or 9 and is delightful at that point."

  • "I looked around open table to find a place to eat and celebrate the very important 19th birthday of my guest. "Credo" meaning " I believe" seemed to be a good fit. This is not a place for romance! This is not a place for intimacy, this is a place to drink and eat. Shortly after seating we were greeted by our server who asked if we would like a drink, I do not drink and my guest is still 19, we said no, Well we might as well have left because is could literally see the disappointment in his face. The food was good I had the pork shoulder which was good, salty and overpriced. My guest had the salmon, he enjoyed it. I did tell them we were there to celebrate a birthday, they responded with a candle in some gelato. Sigh...."

  • "Dined here on a Saturday evening for my birthday and a girl's nite out. Pretty quiet when we got there at 6:30 for drinks but livened up by 7:30 when we sat down to order dinner. Server added a candle to my dessert. My friend brought a soecial bottle of wine to celebrate and they were very nice about it. Corkage fee was $20, about what we expected. Food was nice, moderate portions, and reasonably priced. Loved the fried asparagus app. Good ambience, not too loud, so we could have nice conversation. Would go there again!"

  • "bu nothing seriously memorable; the food was good and service as to be expected but left with no great desire to return"

  • "The team here is fantastic! Always accommodating, and super adaptive to group get togethers (I.e. Work teams with/when people trickle in after work). Great food, but I do miss the pizza varieties. That octopus was delicious! Great bar service!"

  • "Love the atmosphere, cuisine & service! But the NOISE level makes any conversation at table of 5 or more extremely difficult if not in the lower level room. Book few lunches of 5 or more due to this factor and would recommend more Round tables so larger parties can actually have reasonable conversation."

  • "I loved the seasonal risotto. The texture was perfection and although the flavor was rich and buttery, it wasn't heavy. I also couldn't resist the fried asparagus."

  • "Went to Credo for the first time last Friday after reading some great reviews and had a wonderful dinner. Lots of attention to detail was evident on my plates, and the service was friendly and very efficient. Really good food and service aren't found everything, but Credo was spot. My only complaint was that there weren't just a couple more main dishes to choose from. But filet just melted in my mouth. I'll definitely go back."

  • "We really enjoyed our meal. The buttermilk fried asparagus was delicious as was the chopped salad and mushroom soup. Our pasta dishes were delicious with all the pasta made fresh. Great wine selection as well."

  • "The food was good, but nothing to rave about. I was looking forward to the octopus starter, but it was too spicy for me. The pear and arugula salad was pretty good. The king salmon was also good, and so was the pasta dish we had, but nothing to die for. As I said, good, but nothing that especial."

  • "I meet a friend for lunch. We both had salad. I had the ceaser with chicken, she had chopped salad. Both were excellent. It's more than I would spend on lunch normally, but great option for a special occasion."

  • "The food was fantastic! I had scallops and pork belly on risotto and it was perfectly cooked. The fried asparagus appetizer was tasty and not at all oily. The best part was the octopus and brussels sprout appetizer...this is the only way I'll eat octopus! Friendly and attentive service, too."
