Crazy Weed on a cold winter night in Canmore was warm and inviting. Service was excellent and the food was very tasty. The rib eye was done just right but the potatoes underneath had a little too much fat. Enjoyed greatly nevertheless.

Four of us enjoyed dining on a Saturday evening at Crazyweed. As always, the food is fresh and delicious. And, I'm sad to say, the service a bit unprofessional. The server was friendly but not very experienced or knowledgeable about the dishes. Great food and good wine selection.

This is the second time that we've dined at Crazyweed and this visit even surpassed the first. The Pesto, Stilton, and Fig pizza served to be an amazing appetizer. One of the best taste combinations we've had in a long time. The scallops with gnocchi and the linguine with shrimp were both quite good as well. Great service, too.

We went to Canmore/Banff for the weekend to go to this restaurant for a special occasion. Busy, we waited about a 1/2 hr for seating due to lingering couples, but the maitre d' was attentive, and all the staff were moving fast, so clearly everyone was doing what they could. The cerviche and calamari, our first appetizer choices, were out by the time we ordered, so we went with the waiter's advice of the meatballs and Indian truck stop noodles to share - excellent. I also took the waiter's advice on the sablefish, while my husband had the Thai curry bowl as a main. Both delicious and well-presented. We would have tried anything on the menu - it all looked interesting and appealing. Service was just right - we'll be going back soon.

They ran out of half of the food on the menu. All the salads were gone! How do you run out of salad and sandwiches? It was very disappointing. The waitress was appologetic and bought a round of drinks. I was looking forward to their pizza's and they were not on the "lunch menu". They would not serve their dinner menu at 2pm.

Food was excellent as always. We were there with my wife's parents and were surrounded by several large groups (10+ people in each) and it was hard to be heard without shouting. The large groups also meant our food took longer than usual to arrive. The food was still piping hot from the kitchen not from a heat lamp and the taste was amazing. Just poor luck on our part that all the parties were there.

It was my first time dining at Crazyweed, and at the start it was very nice. We were seated in very quickly, although the woman who seated us seemed very put out that we asked for a few extra chairs. We were a large group (about 11 of us) but the fact that we had to wait about 15 minutes to get our drinks, and then an extra 40 minutes or so for our food was a little off-putting. Our server was nice, if very quiet and didn't really seem like a people person but more like she just wanted to leave. The food was amazing and I would highly reccommend it just for the food alone. Unfortunately they added gratuity tips to each bill already, and we had to discover on our own that we didn't have to tip them an extra 15%.

Very busy restaurant and despite having a reservation our table wasn't ready. There was no apparent hostess and we were not acknowledged for greater than 15 minutes upon arrival. They were out of our wine and menu selections. Our wine came at the same time as our appetizer. It all felt very rushed and not a nice relaxed dinner as we were hoping.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 9/9/2012
We went on a Sunday at 1PM. The restaurant appeared to have about 50%-60% of the tables filled. Our server was attentive to us and we ordered within 10 minutes of sitting down. The food (sandwiches and burgers) took over 35 minutes to arrive, and we noticed other tables waiting just as long for their meals. The severs were doing well apologizing to the diners on behalf of the kitchen, which we were told doesn't employ as many chefs during the lunch hour period as they do during the evening for their dinner service. The food was quite good once it arrived, but I wouldn't recommend going for the lunch hour unless you are wanting a more leisurely dinning experience. Maybe try hitting it for dinner, though we were told that was their busy time.

Food was excellent, service was okay. Out waiter seemed to be slammed and, at times, left us alone for far too long. At one point he even asked us to let him finish telling us the specials. Our chatter was about the appetizer specials, so it was exceptionally rude to be told to, in not so many words, be quiet. The next day we couldn't really believe after paying quite a bit for our dinner, we were treated in this manner. Too polite to complain in the moment.

Crazyweed offers a great dinner menu of Asian-inspired dishes. The portion sizes were just perfect, allowing you to enjoy starter, entree and dessert for the complete meal experience. Although our waitress was knowledgeable about the food and was attentive, the hostess was rude and cold. Despite the poor first impression of the restaurant, the rest of the dinner made up for the indiscretion.

Had made reservations and was seated right away upon arrival. Fresh bread served before food came. Pork meatballs were filling. Told by waiter that halibut tartare was not available but tuna was. Hubby liked it. Scallops with gnocchi was cooked perfect. 1/2 rack of ribs was ok. Big size. Too full so no room for dessert. Got food in a reasonable time for a busy night. Will return on our next visit.

I had heard so many great things about this restaurant and was super excited; had been trying to get here for 3 years. Greeter was fantastic - had made note of our reservation, got us a great table & even glasses of bubbly while we waited. After that it went downhill fast. It took too long to place a drink order, too long to get drinks, and too long to place food order. No one spoke with us except server who was clearly too busy with other tables. Food was good, but not good enough to make up for the rest. Didn't even stay for dessert. So sad to say won’t go back.

We went to CW on the recommendation of our daughter's friend who has worked there. All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals from start to finish. Appetizers were excellent! It was a bit noisy but it was a packed Saturday night so I would expect that. We did have quite a wait for our first drinks, and dinner was a bit slow in coming as well but the waitress did apologize and was very pleasant. We were not in a hurry but if you were it may have been a problem. Overall a great meal and I would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.

Good food but not a ton of choice for those that do not like seafood. I would have like to see a little more selection that included beef, poultry, or other meats outside of the treasures of the sea, especially since we live in Alberta. As well, the service was extremely slow. I'm not sure if this was deliberate, but it felt like we were constantly waiting. My boyfriend asked for a refill of his drink and it took a good 20 minutes to get. Overall though, good experience.

This is one of a few restaurants in Canmore/Banff that stands out for presentation, ambiance, price, selection and vibe. It's not to be missed when you are in the Banff area. Inventive menu, open air dining room to patio and minimalist design, not to mention an interesting and varied wine list, are part of the restaurant's winning recipe.
