A word from Cravings Restaurant
"If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies." Author Unknown.

Cravings is proud of being a neighbourhood gathering place. We have changed a lot since 1991. Some may remember our first years as a soup and sandwich spot or a jungle diner. Since then we have come a long way! We have conducted numerous renovations and upgrades to remain up-to-date and relevant to our changing community.

While our restaurant service retains its current charm, Cravings' new lounge offers a full-service bar and food service in a relaxed setting- a perfect escape from the toil of daily life.

Whether you crave a formal dinner or light snack, tasty libations and friendly banter, you can find it at Cravings.

  • "Have been to this restaurant several times. Never disappoints. Always pleases. The three course menu choices well priced with lots of choice. Yummy deserts included? Smaller portions great for kids and seniors. Don't drive downtown. Dine locally. Less stress. Less cost."

  • "Great pork chop and white chocolate creme brule, and service was great, but atmosphere was odd. Was sat right next to loud couple even though there were many tables available. Decor was mid 80s and lighting was a bit harsh. By the time we finished there were lots of customers which was good for a January evening. Must be a local go-to place. Was OK. Probably wouldn't rush back, but would recommend for locals."

  • "I have been here 3 times in the past month with friends and business acquaintances. The food and service had been good on all occasions. I enjoy the quiet ambiance for visiting with friends- background music is pleasant and at an appropriate level for dining. Recommended."

  • "Low level music and quiet diners was great for visiting with friends. Food was good and orders came quickly. We were not disturbed and allowed to talk after most patrons had left. Have booked again for this week."

  • "We had a very good relaxing time cerebrating Mom's birthday. They brought a dessert with a beautiful rose and with BD writing. Very nice touch!! Good service!!"

  • "My friend and I recently dined at Cravings Restaurant for dinner on a Thursday evening. I have been to Cravings several times, and I still like it and would definitely go back. The service and atmosphere are great and menu prices are very reasonable. I started my meal with their spicy chicken soup and it tasted good. However, I ordered the chicken and fig linguine and the flavour was a little.. dry. The goat cheese was too strong and the pasta was a bit on the dry said. With that said, I would still give it a 3.5/5. Dessert was good; I had the white chocolate torte although it was a bit too sweet. Cravings is a great place for casual and special dining. I will definitely go back!"

  • "Been to Craving few times. It was always good service & food. But this time the Chicken was dry & tough. The Tuna has a fishy taste all the vegetables were tough and stringy . Not crazy about the barley instead of potato or rice."

  • "Cravings continues to provide a very good menu and wine list. The food is consistently great, the servings are generous, and the service is top-notch. It is comforting to know that this restaurant continues to thrive in this small corner of Marpole! We split a salad which seemed to be two full salads when they arrived! Followed by the stuffed peppers and chicken/with barley and vegetables. Very tasty and perfectly cooked. We were there for a small, quiet birthday celebration. The Cravings server made it special by presenting a rose with dessert to the guest of honour. What a nice touch! Downtown restaurants could take a lesson from this restaurant in how to provide great food, service and ambience...! Can't wait to go back. And soon."

  • "I must say, the chefs here are amazing. The food is spectacular, but the serving staff are absolutely horrible. We were sitting there for 2.5 hours over a simple dinner trying to flag the 2 staff down so that we could finally order, or to tell them to take our empty plate away but they were completely avoiding eye contact and refusing to look our way. On top of that, they never came to fill up our empty water glasses once. The worst part was it wasn't even busy there!! Talked to friends about our experience and they agreed and said their servers wasted their time as well and they were not going back. I agree - Would not go there again. Would also never recommend this place to anyone unless they want to waste their entire evening."

  • "My garden salad, Sicilian linguine and mini brownie dessert were all very good, and excellent value as a 3-course dinner. My husband enjoyed his beet salad, stuffed pepper and lemon meringue pie, also as a 3-course dinner, but I think I got a better bang for the buck. Cravings is a great place to go before a show at the Metro Theatre, another under-rated neighbourhood gem."

  • "Cravings restaurant is not the most noticeable restaurant as it's well-hidden in the marpole neighbourhood. However, don't let that affect you from searching for it. All of their dishes are a fusion between comfort food and pizazz. The service I've received every time I attend has been top notch and they serve every dish with an incredible smile. It's a shame that they can't expand because I'd love to see more restaurants with quality service around"

  • "We took my father to Cravings for Father's Day. It was a great option for a restaurant in Marpole. Food was ok as it was well priced and tasted good. I had the seared Abercore Tuna sandwich. Problem was the tuna was not Abercore and it was not seared. I felt that the meal in general was not that fresh. The restaurant itself is due for a renovation, saying that though I would go again. None of the issues were enough to turn me off... Just below average to what the competition is in the city."

  • "We were passing through Vancouver and pioked this restaurant based on location and recommendations from this site. It was an enjoyable meal; the food was tasty and the staff friendly. The biggest negative I had was that, despite the fact the server was very friendly, even though the restaurant was less than half-full, the service was somewhat slow. We felt like we were waiting long stretches for the next course. My daughter and I both got the 3 courses for $26 special...which I felt like was a good not great deal. For a main course, I got the pork, she got the chicken. Both came in appropriate-sized portions and had good flavor. I did feel like the dessert portions were small."

  • "We chose this place because it was close to the airport. Upon arriving we encountered a lot of seniors in the restaurant so decided to eat on the lounge side which offered us another option, privacy and more room. The ambiance was a bit too bright, almost cafeteria like but at least we could see what we were eating. Food was fine for the price and the service was really good. It would be a good place for a large group that wanted to have space and privacy but not have to spend a fortune to get it."

  • "The restaurant has two set menus: $15 for three courses or $26 also for three courses (but with more entree selection). Overall the food is decent, especially considering the price you pay. Service was friendly. Wine selection was very limited. It was a pleasant experience but not exciting enough to bring me back again."

  • "Was delighted with the restaurant. Excellent food, very competitive pricing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We weren't attended to very quickly upon arriving but think that was due to a wedding reception held in another room. After this small glitch everything was perfect. They are located in a very unexpected location in a semi-residential, semi-office area but definitely worth seeking out. There is ample parking."

  • "My wife and I ate off the gluten-free (Celiac) menu and ordered two sandwiches with Artisan salads. They were delicious and well-plated. Altogether, we enjoyed our second visit here as much as our first and will definitely be coming again!"

  • "Well I've done it! I've had all three meals at Cravings. The Brunch was, as expected, yummy! There isn't a celiac menu for Brunch but they have rice bread and so can make lots of the Brunch menu Gluten free. It was a hard decision but I finally picked the Brie and Apple omelette. I automatically said no toast but the server remembered me eating the sandwiches there so included it with my omelette. I could have had French Toast or a Benny. Lots to choose from and the service was excellent. I will continue coming here as long as it's here. Now that I'm moving I'll just have to drive here. If you live around Osler and 72nd Ave. it's just a lovely walk with a delicious meal at the end,"

  • "Cravings is the nicest thing abut living in Marpole. You just walk out the door and down the street. I think I'll try Brunch tomorrow as it is the only meal I haven't eaten there many times. Everything is so delicious that I'm sure Brunch will be a treat. Better have a reservation as it is always busy! The staff are always pleasant, though. Now I can't wait for tomorrow and a new treat from Cravings."

  • "Cravings restaurant continues to provide this little corner of Marpole with high quality, reasonably priced food selections which can be known to cause the top button on many peoples' pants to be undone when leaving. The 14.99 menu and the 25.95 menu are filled with many excellent choices of one appetizer, one entree and one dessert. The restaurant is especially busy on weekend nights as many long time customers come back for their favourite dishes. The Canadian pork chop and the stuffed meatballs are two excellent examples. Everyone I have brought here has requested we return so now I will become a long time customer."

  • "As always this lovely neighbourhood gem never disappoints. The gluten free Cava burger was sooo good and the duxelle meat balls were also very good. One of many thoughtful touches are the two-bite desserts. My mother has enjoyed a couple now and has loved them all. Also, the chocolate mousse has a lovely little surprise for you and it is divine! Usually crowded a reservation would be a good idea."

  • "Never disappoints! Great food and service for reasonable prices, especially if you go for the 3 course meal. I love the beet and goat cheese salad. My husband loves the spicy chicken soup. Also, make sure you try the flourless chocolate almond cake! It is amazing! I am sorry to hear the restaurant is up for sale."

  • "This is perhaps one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The location of 'Cravings' is well hidden to most of the public but don't let that prevent you from searching for it. There are constantly great deals, food, and some of the most friendliest staff that you will ever encounter. If I could rate this restaurant out of 10, I'd give it a 20."

  • "Charming, popular neighbourhood restaurant on 72nd and Osler Street. Usually busy so reservations are recommended. Food is always good and service is pleasant and quick. The 14.99 and 24.99 dinner choices are excellent value. They have special menus for celiacs and other allergies and they are full menus not tow or three items. Great place for lunch or dinner!"

  • "Quiet, attractive restaurant located on the corner of Osler Street and 72 Avenue in Vancouver. The menus are very accommodating with special menus for different allergies. I highly recommend the Celiac menu. It is usually busy and I would recommend reservations. It is close to the Metro theatre and if you let them know you are going to the theatre they will make sure your meal is finished in time. The food is delicious for lunch and dinner(I haven't tried Brunch) and is presented attractively and tastes delicious. Highly recommended."
