Specializes menu each night. My husband ordered the crab appetizer and found it to be Too nouvelle ...very small portion! On the other hand my salad appretiizer was too large and too expensive for one. It was delicious though. The tuna entree was spectacular! I am running back for more!

  • Crave is an excellent addition,
    AriFVIP

Crave is an excellent addition, especially for the Midtown East lunch crowd. Its combination of food and atmosphere makes it a new found gem in an area where most lunch spots are overcrowded and unremarkable. It is anything but either of those, and the food is outstanding, while perhaps even a half step cheaper than other Midtown sit-down options. During happy hour and into the evening, it turns into a hot spot with the same high quality food, and also great beer on tap. Highly recommend! -Ari Frankel

Welcoming and friendly great service Food was very good, just not outstanding. Skate wing was overwhelmed by a parsnip flavor and the monkfish a bit chewy even for monkfish. Clam/kale chowder is outstanding . All in all, worthy of going back!

Went for lunch with a group, it was busy as always. Very attentive service, helpful and knowledgable on special gluten free questions. We had the shrimp salad, fish tacos and Hake Ramen. The Fish Tacos were very good, if a tiny bit oversalty for my liking. Both Salad and the Ramen soup seemed less special, however it is a great place to eat fish any way you can think of and accompany it with some nice wine from the impressive wine list.

  • Saturday Evening

    Dined on 12/15/2012
My sister and I went to Crave Fishbar on a recent Saturday evening, and were immediately impressed by the cozy and low-key atmosphere. All of the courses that we had were delicious, with flavors complementing the seafood. We started with the grilled octopus (both of us found the mustard vinaigrette worked well with the tender, smoky meatiness of the octopus). She then had the yellowfin tuna, while I had the lobster curry. Both dishes deserve the good reviews that others have posted. All in all - a very enjoyable evening!

I work nearby and have to say it did not feel like I was next to my morning Starbucks in midtown! The service was great - the server and manager checked on us many times in a sincere and intrusive way. The raw fluke was mediocre, but I guess that is my fault as I don't love celery or cilantro. The merluza (described as being in the cod family) was amazing. Poached in olive oil and served with spaetzle, mushrooms, citrus and onion, that all somehow went brilliantly together. The homedmade cavetelli was also delicious. Sadly, we didn't save room for dessert. Definitely a great midtown find!

We ended up at Crave on a rainy NYC night after our plans fell through. We kind of "settled for it." But we couldn't be happier. Every bite was delicious. My boyfriend said MY skate wing was the best fish HE ever had (yes, he ate 2/3 of my dinner). The raw scallop appetizer was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We live in Baltimore and don't get to NYC often enough but he insists we go back soon so he can order the skate wing. (I guess his 2-1 sharing of my food wasn't enough!) The service was attentive without being annoying or rushing us...and they were packed on a Tuesday night. The place is laid back and fun. 5-star food in a casual setting. Perfect for any night in NYC, especially a rainy one.

What a treat to have Crave back in the neighborhood. My husband and I dined there 3 times within the last 5 weeks and can't get enough. OpenTable Diner Since 2010

The perfect place if you are looking for really good fish/seafood. Everything was extremely fresh. A little concern I had since we visited after Sandy had hit the area. The prawns were true prawns (not large shrimp as some restaurants tend to claim as prawns)that had the perfect amount of firmness on the outside, and sweet and tender on the inside. The lamb ribs were on the fatty side. If you don't like fatty lamb take a pass. The Tilefish was nice and meaty, cooked perfectly with a nice hint of smokiness from the bacon. We also had red fish for the first time. It was delicious with a nice balance of flavor from the accompanying ingredients. The wine list has excellent options at all price categories. We will definitely be back
