They sat us right away even with one person still coming. Cocktails were great. To start we ordered the squid, the pickle jar and a salad and for our meals we ordered the halibut and the fried chicken--both were delicious. The wine was also really great.

The menu is great for this because you can have a great and satisfying lunch without doing a main. We did a lot of sharing and loved everything. We converted a person who doesn't like kale into a believer with the tuscan kale and radish salad; the buttermilk dressing made all the difference. It is very rare to get tongue on a menu and it is one of my guilty pleasures. Everything there seems to have just that extra touch that makes it different and special. The table was a perfect sized round table- great for our 9 person party.
The service to get a first round of drinks was a little slow, but once we started ordering wine, they became more attentive.
The food was very, very good. I wouldn't call it exceptional or outstanding this time, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes.

This night we enjoyed several appetizers: fried artichokes, beet salad, spicy wings, asparagus, and followed them with two of their best pastas: the meatballs and the Bolognese. Enjoyed wines by the glass, because even their by-the-glass list is excellent. The noise level was perfect, because it wasn't too busy at that time. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. It was my birthday and they took the extra step and printed my name with a "Happy Birthday" message across the top. Nice vegetarian options, so I could eat happily with my carnivore husband. We both used to work in the industry and we were thrilled with the menu's options. Even something simple like grits were so delicious, with a smoked tomato jam to compliment the smooth grits. The crispy artichokes were delicious. My husband loved his port belly.

It is obvious that they make a real effort to serve foods that are in-season. The most difficult part was deciding what to order because it all sounds so delicious. Fortunately, there are lots of small-plate offerings so you can try lots of things. They have a wonderful selection of wines as well as a fun cocktail menu. The food was really good (as expected) but it really was the extra attention that made us feel extra special.
