A word from Craft Los Angeles
Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002 & five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. His new American dishes marry the finest ingredients, haute cuisine and family-style service. Under the execution of Chef de Cuisine Raymond England, Craft features produce from local organic farms, all-natural meats & day-boat seafood. With the award-winning architectural design of Bentel and Bentel & under the glow of filament bulbs, diners share dishes that celebrate 'single' ingredients, expertly & simply prepared.

Awarded Three and a Half Stars by S. Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times, she states:

“The menu offers a master class in contemporary American cuisine. You won’t find recipes with 17 ingredients or unnecessary frills. Each dish relies on simplicity & elegance, superb ingredients & expert execution to make its point."

  • "I eat here often and I'm never disappointed. The service was wonderful and the food is impeccable. Definitely worth the trip."

  • "I was in town for business and thrilled I was able to get a reservation on fairly short notice. Dined with two friends, had the 7 course chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. The meal was exquisite from start to finish. Each dish was explained in enough detail to know what we were eating and why each wine was selected to accompany it, but not so much that it was intrusive. The sweet pea angloti may have been my favorite, although it is a very tough choice. Perfectly tender pasta pillows filled with vibrant pureed peas. Amazing! This restaurant is definitely destination dining worthy."

  • "We celebrated a special birthday and the restaurant made every attempt to make the night extra special. The whole team of staff here were super attentive and friendly. The general manager came over several times, the servers and bar tenders - everyone was so personable and attentive. The food was simply outstanding. We all loved our meals and would go back in a second. Highly recommend it!"

  • "The service and the atmosphere are wonderful. We were treated like royalty. This is a very nice place and you pay for it . I thought the food for the price would wow me with tastes and items that were gastronomically sensational. Maybe my expectations were to high the food was definitely good but not as good as what they are charging for. That being said I would come back here just for the service and the atmosphere."

  • "We have eaten at Craft in Manhattan many times and have had uniformly excellent experiences. While in LA we decided to visit Craft there and found that the experience while still way above average was not quite up to the New York standards. The physical restaurant was very nice although a bit antiseptic in atmosphere. Service was very good but not quite as warm as NYC. The food is where the big gap was.. Cauliflower was burned. Chicken undercooked and only warm. Likewise the mushrooms were burned. The peas and potatoes were superb. Maybe we came to expect perfection. Experience was very good but just not up to the high standards set in New York."

  • "I loved Craft, the service was outstanding and we were well please with the entire nights experience. I love the fact that they has little perks, such as, sample tasting with no charge of soups or appetizers, and as we were leaving we were presented with a small bag of the wonderful granola that I would love to have more of. This is a romantic place with wonderful ambience. The food was very good especially the risotto. I hope to return to Craft soon, but on a date."

  • "Need I say more? Craft understands how to put together a 5-star dining experience!"

  • "It seemed excessively overpriced. It was nice but I have definitely eaten a lot better food for a lot less in LA. Scotches were nearly double the price of anywhere else. If you want to have a descent meal with a massive price tag but still have a good experience this is a good place to show off your bankroll. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great for spending corporate dollars."

  • "I used open table to make the reservation and noted that it would be my friend's birthday celebration. The restaurant printed my friend's name on the menu - such an amazing personal touch. Each staff member was so friendly and helpful - and of course the food was deeeeelicious. Would definitely come back here for a special occasion."

  • "Craft L.A. is hands down our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Couldn't have been any better!"

  • "This is our first time dining at this restaurant, and can't wait to go back! From the food to the service to the ambience, everything was spot on! Surprisingly, for fancy restaurants such as this food portions were quite generous, with all entrees and sides served family style. The attention to local and sustainable ingredients is exceptional."

  • "2nd time dinning at Craft, went for my Birthday dinner last night, with my wife and mom, bill was $680.00. Over all I have eaten at many fine dinning restaurants and my wife and I were left very disappointed over all. The food was just OK but not exceptional. Way to over priced for the caliber of food. Unfortunately the 2nd visit will be our last as this morning we can only reflect on regretting how much we paid for such mediocre food. The beef rib eye was chewy and my wife and mother couldn't even finish theirs and kept handing me over there steak and other food, that's when you know there is a consensus that the food is not that good when 3 people are disappointed. Could not recommend to a friend. Will not be returning"

  • "Love Craft. We can and do walk here. Whenever we go we are treated like royalty. Our favorite waiter is Jim as he remembers our occasional visit with a smiling face and great suggestions. The quality of the food does not change. The menu will have some slight changes using the same main ingredient but with a different seasoning, sauce or style. Always nice to have a little change. It is wonderful to go early during day light savings time and look at the view out the windows."

  • "Craft is an excellent restaurant. Everyone treated us nicely. It is nice to go into a restaurant where the waiter serves you amuse bouche and bread is still served without an extra charge. We also liked the fact that the tables are not on top of each other. We decided that we want to dine at this restaurant more often."

  • "I remember going to Craft LA when it first opened. Tom Colicchio was in the kitchen, the food was terrific, the vibe exciting. On this trip, the service was still impeccable, but the food was far from it. The baby kale salad looked sad, as if assembled from week old, fridge wilted leaves. Grilled octopus was rubbery and the ravioli clearly sat under a heat lamp for too long. The oysters however were well chosen and the broccolini was fantastic. The room, which has always felt too upscale for the rusticity of Colicchio's food, on this night seemed downright hushed to the point of sombre. Perhaps it was the sound of underwhelmed diners. Time for a reinvigoration IMO. I will not be going back until I hear that's well underway."

  • "Great place for a drink and appetizer as well as a wonderful dining experience. Dishes lend themselves to sharing and the menu has food from all categories. It is divided into several parts, i.e. raw foods, sides, pork, seafood, beef and vegetables, that being said it is short and easily understood. Even the fussiest of eaters can find something to please their palates! There is enough room between tables for privacy. I give it a excellent review, and will return!"

  • "This was my second time at this restaurant and once again I was blown away by the exceptional service and delicious food. It's not called "Craft" for nothing. It's truly one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles! This Craft is far better than the one in Las Vegas! I love everything about this restaurant, the food, the wine, the cocktails, the service, the ambience, EVERYTHING! I have never spoken so highly of any restaurant, but this is definitely worth every bit of my enthusiasm. The service is just outstanding! The staff team is on top of it and you really get pampered here. If you want a nice fine dining experience with family or a romantic date with your significant other, this is the place to go!"

  • "Overall really nice vibe. It was a low key night so I'd like to check it out with girlfriends on a more lively night. It was perfect for the birthday celebration I wanted to have with the special guy in my life. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Delicious. I'll be returning and recommending!!! Thanks"

  • "This is a fantastic restaurant. Despite sitting near a very loud table, we were focused on the delicious food on our plates. I had the salmon and my wife the scallops. Portion size perfect and so good. After dinner, we were surrounded by so many tempting desserts. The service is so good and very professional. This is fine dining at its best! What's intimidating is all the free parking. You could get lost. :)"

  • "Overall, our experience was top notch. The food was imaginative and delicious. The service was stellar. The dining room is beautifully designed. Only a few quibbles subtract a star in food and ambience. We very much enjoyed the tasting menu and "surprise courses" but in our opinions there were two stumbles. We found the divers scallop ceviche to be unbalanced: the kumquat overpowered the delicate scallop and was all we could taste at the end. And while the pickled mushrooms were a delightful accompaniment to the poached black cod & its umami broth, the wine pairing was insipid. Also, the stone floors in the men's room are VERY slick when wet, as I discovered the hard way! These are minor issues, We heartily recommend Craft."

  • "The food is outstanding and I would recommend it. Decor is amazing, but service isn't quite there yet. A little unfocussed, but does not detract from the food or ambience at all."

  • "From the moment we walked through the doors, straight through dessert, the service was exceptional! Each person working at the restaurant greeted us as we passed by, our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made fantastic recommendations on food and wine! The meal was delicious, especially the Duck and Diver Scallops, We were celebrating an anniversary with friends, and had a lovely time. We will be back!"

  • "We celebrated my husband's birthday with a trip to the Annenberg Space for Photography. Dinner was at Craft which is in the same complex of buildings. We have long wanted to dine here. Everything was wonderful from the host who was at the door to welcome us to the complimentary biscotti that we were sent home with--It couldn't have been more perfec! Our menu had a birthday greeting printed on it and was given to us as a memento. Kudos to Patrick who was spot on with recommendations and how much to order: Every dish was presented so it could be shared. There were 4 additional surprises: lentil amuse buche, palate cleansing sorbet, small plate of cookies with candy, and biscotti. Though pricey, the experience was well worth it."

  • "The service and ambience met expectations, however the food was not as it was described on the menu. I took the potato chips out of my seafood salad. The salad was very "average." I appreciate when all items in a dish are listed on the menu!"

  • "I have had ecxcellent meals in the past at Craft and the service has always been terrific. I made a reservation through Open Table this time. The waittress could not have been haughtier and the truly pathetic salmon salad they put in fron of me was a joke - two sad little pieces of mandatrin oranges, salmon that was just thrown on top not at all artfully - it looked like cat food. The dressing was great but other thatn that it was really not up to par for well over $20. Its a great and onvenient place to go and very popular, but come on Craft - try a little harder!"

  • "This is in lieu of a letter I was going to write to the Manager of Craft: We had a magnificent meal, celebrating our anniversary. I appreciated the personalization of our menus. Unfortunately, I had a business meeting the following morning , and the fact that I tossed and turned until 5 AM didn't help. When I asked the waitress if, for sure, the decaf coffee was in fact decaf, she assured me it was. WRONG! Decaf coffee does not keep me awake ALL night. Regular coffee does. What started out as a wonderful experience, didn't end so. Pass on the decaf coffee order."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Craft and were not disappointed. My husband wasn't feeling 100%, so he opted for a lighter menu, while I went all out for the Chef's Tasting Menu. It was pretty perfect, including the wine pairings. The highlight for me was the cabernet / wagyu rib eye pairing. The low point was probably the scallop ceviche...the bitterness of the komquats didn't quite balance out for me. The thing I liked best was to leave the restaurant after that many courses and still be able to function. It was a lot of food and wine, but not so much or so rich or so conflictual that I couldn't enjoy the rest of my evening. The service was also impeccable. We will definitely return."

  • "Craft's dinner menu is okay, but it feels pricey and kind of boring (very steakhouse-esque). I like their power lunch instead where you get all kinds of seasonal starters and entrees that are delicious, refined and not too expensive. Their great desserts are also available at lunch, which include a great selection of housemade ice creams."

  • "This is a fine restaurant in every way. Service and ambience outstanding -- at night. The food was good overall. Great for fine dining at acceptable noise levels for conversation."

  • "Excellent food - my Diver Scallops were the table's favorite; the server recommended Hen of the Woods mushrooms were outstanding; the asparagus was simple but amazing - great service, and imaginative cocktails. My only wish is that I could eat here more often."

  • "I have been wanting to try Craft for years now. I went in with my boyfriend (we both are working cooks in restaurants) and we were very pleased with every single dish we got, from the salad to the risotto to the best scallops we've ever had. It's big portion, family style. We barely had room for dessert, but had to order something. So glad we did! The ice creams and sorbets are delicious and refreshing, the fresh baked cookies were decadent, and the complimentary sorbet, caramel popcorn, etc. brought us to the edge of popping. The only complaint was they didn't have a wheelchair service to roll me out of there. We both could not stop talking about the excellent service.. Well staffed/executed. I can't wait to go back and recommend to others"
