A word from Craft Los Angeles
Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002 & five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. His new American dishes marry the finest ingredients, haute cuisine and family-style service. Under the execution of Chef de Cuisine Ray England, Craft features produce from local organic farms, all-natural meats & day-boat seafood. With the award-winning architectural design of Bentel and Bentel & under the glow of filament bulbs, diners share dishes that celebrate 'single' ingredients, expertly & simply prepared.

Awarded Three and a Half Stars by S. Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times, she states:

“The menu offers a master class in contemporary American cuisine. You won’t find recipes with 17 ingredients or unnecessary frills. Each dish relies on simplicity & elegance, superb ingredients & expert execution to make its point."

The service at Craft was outstanding as was the food. My colleague and I shared the kale salad which was delicious. For an entree, I had the scallops and my friend at the halibut. Both were wonderful. Would definitley suggest Craft!

We booked from overseas months ago and were very excited. The quail was not pink, more red and served n a hot dish but it was only slightly warm. The halibut was dry, but The eggplant worked well in the dish. We would not recommend to friends that it is a place they must sample.

On a recent trip to LA last weekend, I actually dined at this restaurant TWICE in a row. Friday's meal was so good with friends, I went back to explore the menu a bit more while I waited for my red eye flight home later that evening. I sat at the bar and the food and service was perfect once again. I'll be back...

If you are a foodie, you must try this place! There were 3 in our party and we each ordered a main entree then ordered several sides for the table and dessert too. Everything was fabulous! They brought us several "tastings" -- various things from the kitchen that we did not order -- all were so yummy! Then they sent us home with complimentary biscotti for the next morning -- very clever and left a lasting impression! I highly recommend this place!

It was our 4 year anniversary. They called me a couple nights before to confirm and asked for the names of the diners and the occasion. Upon arrival, they presented us with customized menus. We had extra chef's recommendation brought to us to sample free of charge, and we even went home with some gift muffins.

I scheduled a business meeting with important clients for lunch at Craft. Our table was ready upon our arrival, and we were greeted with courtesy and immediately led to our table. Our server was pleasant, and prompt, and we ordered salads for lunch. Chicken Salad, Calamari salad, and Salmon. For dessert we shared the cinnamon and sugar donuts. Overall the experience was good, pleasant, not spectacular. A bit over priced. We did not have wine or cocktails. I would visit this establishment again.

Craft is so consistently good, its a shame our dinner on Friday was let down by a side of Broccoli di Cico which was inedible. I am fine with al dente vegetables but the stalks of the broccoli were so tough it was unpleasant trying to eat the dish. It went back to the kitchen but the replacement was no better. However the tomato salad we shared as a starter was simply amazing and the John Dory and Duck entrees were really excellent.

This was a special Birthday occasion and as corny as it may sound, the menu had 'Happy Birthday Sandy' on the upper left hand corner. The Waiter was exceptionally good at explaining the dishes with 'exotic' names, and he was 'right on' ... the food was served family style which allowed the 6 of us to literally sample the various dishes ordered. It was literally one of the best meals the 6 of us [who have eaten well all over including the European continent] have ever had. NO RUSH and the evening was made even more enjoyable by the great service we had which made the meal and the evening a most memorable one. YES, we will return. Most enjoyable and worth the price which is NOT inexpensive.

Great dinner for celebrations or big business meals. The level and kind of service I miss from NY. Terrific flavors. Pretty space - not a bad table in the house. Super expensive. Ice cream needs a little work and I'd like to add another vote for one GF dessert. Otherwise amazing choice for a memorable celebratory dinner.

My husband and I have been to Craft a number of times, but not on a regular basis. The thing that has us coming back, besides the great food, is the phenomenal service. From the moment you walk in to the minute you leave, you feel like a valued friend, not just a customer. The service is attentive, but not cloying. The food was great, as usual. I could happily live on the ricotta cavatelli and mashed potatoes. The Dover scallops were the best I've had there to date. The only dish I wasn't thrilled with was the kale salad. A little too salty and not dressed enough. I look forward to our next occasion so we can celebrate with another great meal at Craft.

The food was good, nothing special, not great. What we had was prepared to perfection but nothing outside the box. Flavors were good but not complex or dynamic. Very true to home style food. Service was wonderful and untouchable. The host... Not as much. Closed off and snubbed us. I have a broken foot, need to wear tennis shoes, I got a look that could kill. Unacceptable, he doesn't know me and IM THE CUSTOMER.

We were seated by the window, and even though several tables were occupied by large groups, the noise level was quiet. Spacious room, wide tables were wide and service attentive without being obsequious. The menus, bearing my husband's name, (lovely attention), were varied and tempting. We chose the ribs, the hanger steak, the halibut and the scallops, with the gratin, mushrooms and cipollini onions. Everything was delicious. Tiny bowls of gazpacho before our entrees and mini sorbets before our desserts. The desserts, doughnut and chocolate tart, were not great. We appreciated the mignardises and the little birthday cake, and the little bags of granola, another lovely attention. Prices are high but it was a delicious evening.

We went to Craft to celebrate our anniversary which I mentioned when making my reservation. I was a little surprised when I received a phone message requesting my wife's first name. When we were seated and given our dinner menus I discovered the reason, our menus were specially printed with a notation celebrating our anniversary. That marked the beginning of a wonderful evening. The food at Craft is fabulous. For openers we had a wonderful avocado and peanut salad as well as pork belly that melted in your mouth We had their signature Diver scallops and sublime lamb (and generously portioned) as entrees. Side dishes of mushroom and perfect Gnocchi. Their wine list is excellent and by the glass wine first rate. We shall return

Been to many of the best restaurants in LA, and Craft is now at the top of my list. Great service (friendly and respectful without being stuffy), Great food (not overcomplicated, just perfectly done), and great atmosphere (tables aren't on top of each other and we couldn't hear the people talking at the table next to us) Wine sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. And when we mentioned that we were not 100% pleased with a steak we ordered, the manager sent us each a glass of desert wine.

I'd not eaten at Craft for a few years now, and this was my first - probably only - time at lunch. I had the prix fixe and my friend ordered their chicken salad. Hers was bland and soggy. My gazpacho was pretty good as a starter. The sole as a second course was bland and unimaginative. The strawberry ice cream for dessert was probably the best part of the meal. Even though we were sitting across from each other, I still had a hard time hearing my friend when she was speaking to me. Seemed like the chef (?) texted this one in - even a phone call might have been better. I am not planning on going back, because it was a huge waste of money.
