A word from Craft Los Angeles
Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002 & five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. His new American dishes marry the finest ingredients, haute cuisine and family-style service. Under the execution of Chef de Cuisine Ray England, Craft features produce from local organic farms, all-natural meats & day-boat seafood. With the award-winning architectural design of Bentel and Bentel & under the glow of filament bulbs, diners share dishes that celebrate 'single' ingredients, expertly & simply prepared.

Awarded Three and a Half Stars by S. Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times, she states:

“The menu offers a master class in contemporary American cuisine. You won’t find recipes with 17 ingredients or unnecessary frills. Each dish relies on simplicity & elegance, superb ingredients & expert execution to make its point."

An excellent dinner in an ultra modern setting. Service was first rate. We parked in the garage with validation, rather than valet. We had a view of the plaza, with its illuminated trees. Seating was spacious. Menu was varied, so ordering was easy.

Since Creative Artists Agency reportedly boycotted Craft after owner-chef Tom Collichio left them for anyother agency, Craft has replaced its formerly arrogant attitude with real friendlness. This was on display Saturday night. When our movie nearby ran long, they did not cancel our 10 pm reservation and kept the kitchen open so we could order at 10:20. We ordered a couple of glasses of Gruner Veltinler and one of the house Cabernet, and had some of the freshest and best oysters we've ever tasted, the legendary roasted octopus, our favorite quail, a green salad with picked radishes, and a roasted bear. Delicious and relatively healthy. (except for the addictive dark bread). The sparkly white lights setting indoors and out is extremely romantic, particularly if you get a booth.

When I initially made reservations on OpenTable, I mentioned that I was going there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Not only did I receive a call to confirm my reservation and friend's birthday, Craft also included a personalized birthday message on our menu. That lovely touch made my friend feel extra special. Thank you for going above and beyond, Craft. I am truly impressed. Will be back again!

CRAFT should not be lost in the current restaurant revolution and craziness here in Los Angeles. While chefs strive for rock star status opening kitchy and crazy all over town from roof tops to basements, CRAFT sits in a prime Los Angeles location and delivers fresh, creative and well prepared food for lunch and dinner. While it appears that the industry, business and professional crowd favor this place, the foodies of all ages and interest will find it worth a trip. Fish, fowl, meat and vegetables are all done to perfection and the staff is sufficiently professional and capable to handle anyone! Craft continues to be worthy of high praise and delivers every time.

I had a 9:00pm reservation on a Saturday. Living less than a mile away, I must say that I have discovered a "Gem" in my neighborhood. I've found the decor to be very "Californian" which was pleasant to see in an area like "Century City". It is not cheap but well worth it. The portions are generous. And the quality was well at par. As far as the service is concerned, it was perfect. Patrick our waiter was more than helpful and accommodating.

I have been in the restaurant business for 25+ years in some capacity. It is sometimes hard to enjoy dining because I have high expectations. I rarely experience GREAT service, last night was an exception. From the minute we walked in the door of Craft it was apparent that the service staff was well trained and took their jobs seriously. Our server, Zachery was knowledgeable, attentive, not overbearing and very helpful with our requests. Matt, the manager/sommelier was very kind & helped select a perfect wine for our meal. I believe we were the last guests to leave & service was excellent all the way through. Food was wonderful, chef spoiled us with extra courses-thank you! Kudos to all, this was a great experience!

This was truly the very best dinner we have ever had. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary and they outdid themselves in making sure we were feted like royalty. Having dined at all of the top restaurants in Los Angeles, Craft soared to the number one spot on our list. We could not have been more happy and indulged. The food and wine were superb but the service was beyond description. We even got special menus with our names and the number of the anniversary on them. It was an evening to remember and I will definitely return.

Wow. The food and drink is extraordinary, as expected. But the service -- never experienced such friendly, warm, professional waitstaff and bartenders. Upon receiving my reservation, they called to ask all the details about the birthday dinner (my daughter's 21st). They printed a special "Happy Birthday" menu, and our phenomenal meal was capped off with fabulous drinks and a special birthday dessert (and congratulations all around). Couldn't have been lovelier.

Went with a friend on a Wednesday evening after work. Food was great, tables are big and not squished into the space to seat as many humans as possible. Service was an OK+. To sum, it's a lovely restaurant, it wasn't noisy so my friend and I could talk in normal voices, and there wasn't anyone at the next table elbowing me because it was too far away. Most importantly, the food is really good.

Baby carrots were yummy and so was the gnocchi.

Hard to say anything negative about this place. The service was friendly and attentive without being stuffy or intrusive. The food is stunningly good. I had lamb and my wife had duck. Both were among the best we have ever had. The decor is open and attractive. The wine list is very good, and they pour a lot of good wine by the glass. Heck, the parking was even free--on Saturday.

I went there for a business dinner...had a great evening. The food is good but I felt, with all the hype, it would be better. We had never been to craft before, and honestly were not familiar with the restaurant. I cannot remark highly enough about the impeccable service we received from every member of the staff, from the moment we were greeted until we walked out the door. Every bite was scrumptious and meticulously prepared. That the ingredients are locally sourced and lovingly selected is evident across the menu. Nothing is over thought. Every plate is honest, artful and beautiful. A great place to go with at least four people so you can order more items to share.

Service and attitude of staff was professional and capable. Waiters were attentive but not overbearing. Food was excellent. Portions were huge and were clearly enough to share. We were asked if we had eaten at Craft in the past and we did but the size of the portions was unexpected. But that was really our fault in not asking the right question. It was too good to complain. I would highly recommend the restaurant.

Very much enjoyed the experience at dining at Craft. The staff was attentive, helpful with excellent suggestions and continually brought food (amouse bouche, small desserts) in addition to the food we ordered. The food was delectable (we shared the dry aged ribeye as the main course) and cooked perfectly. The sides recommended by the staff (wild arugula salad, assorted mushrooms and Bintje potatoes) went well with the ribeye. Highly recommend and will return.

I can't begin to describe how amazing our dining experience at Craft was. The restaurant has a sophisticated, warm, and inviting ambience. Impeccable service; our waiter knew what he was talking about and the sommelier took what we were looking for (a Californian white that was fresh and crisp) and produced an excellent bottle. The food was unbelievably delicious – perfectly cooked duck, quail, pork, and scallops, and the potato gratin… I could eat an entire pot of that gratin. Oh and the chocolate caramel tart for dessert is a must-try!

If you are a foodie, you must try this place! There were 3 in our party and we each ordered a main entree then ordered several sides for the table and dessert too. Everything was fabulous! They brought us several "tastings" -- various things from the kitchen that we did not order -- all were so yummy! Then they sent us home with complimentary biscotti for the next morning -- very clever and left a lasting impression! I highly recommend this place!
