A word from Craft Los Angeles
Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002 & five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. His new American dishes marry the finest ingredients, haute cuisine and family-style service. Under the execution of Chef de Cuisine Raymond England, Craft features produce from local organic farms, all-natural meats & day-boat seafood. With the award-winning architectural design of Bentel and Bentel & under the glow of filament bulbs, diners share dishes that celebrate 'single' ingredients, expertly & simply prepared.

Awarded Three and a Half Stars by S. Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times, she states:

“The menu offers a master class in contemporary American cuisine. You won’t find recipes with 17 ingredients or unnecessary frills. Each dish relies on simplicity & elegance, superb ingredients & expert execution to make its point."

Diner Reviews
  • "Bright and pleasant restaurant. Loved the "family style" manner of serving. Both entrees (duck and halibut) were delicious, as were the very simple but tasty arugula salad and side dish."

  • "Fantastic service all around, great food as well. A party of 8 that totally enjoyed the evening."

  • "My husband and I had our two year anniversary dinner at Craft. They gave us a great booth in a semi-secluded spot, and had the menu's embossed with a Happy Anniversary message to us. The Diver Scallops melted in my mouth...so good!! My husband had the King salmon and loved it. For dessert we had the donuts and cookies...superb! Can't wait to go back. Craft wait staff were so attentive and all the details were perfect."

  • "Lovely restaurant. Great food. Incredibly lovely service. Amuse bouche. Extra little dessert + they give you granola to take home."

  • "We had another great evening at Craft. This restaurant is committed to perfection and deliver on that promise."

  • "Being a non-meat eater, it is clear that I may have missed out on the main attraction of Craft - short ribs for the table seemed to be all the rage. I had a salmon salad which, sadly, was pedestrian (my friend had the sole which he said was good but not spectacular). That said, the service was excellent, the ambiance was also very good. I can rave about the desserts. I went with the doughnuts, coffee ice cream, and chocolate. It was truly excellent. The prix fixe is a relatively good deal, with appetizer, entree and dessert."

  • "This is my go to for any special occasion or just when it is time to recharge with some good food served right. I've always been happy with the service and the food here and recommend it for anyone that is looking to enjoy good food made and served well."
    Dined on 6/3/2014
  • "Appetizers...side dishes, ambience, service, wine selection and presentation were excellent. Entrees were "good" but not outstanding. Halibut was good but dry...scallops were good but not memorable...short-ribs had good texture but flavor was compromised by tasting overly "fat." Not the "Craft" experience that I have enjoyed previously."

  • "We chose Craft for a special milestone birthday dinner and it was excellent in every way. The cocktail I enjoyed at the bar was balanced and they were able to transfer our bar tab to our table without an issue - a big service plus. The pea risotto, the lamb and the duck were all quite memorable. I found the dishes to be well executed and flavorful without unnecessary flourishes (no foams or spheres here - just real food). The quality of the ingredients showed through. The peas in the risotto were sweet but not overly so and the risotto itself was just the right consistency (not a fan of mushy pasta). I was glad to see both lamb and duck on the menu and they did not disappoint. All in all, my best meal of the year. Highly recommend."

  • "I didn't find the petrale sole or the mushrooms side dish to be anything extraordinary. Everything tasted delicious, but SF has far better restaurants at a fraction of the price, that incorporate unique farm-to-table ingredients in more creative ways. I suppose every diner has to benchmark against their experience, but I just found this place to be somewhat underwhelming."

  • "Great service and a beautiful space. One of out entrees was outstanding while the other one, a fish, was dry and over-cooked."

  • "I went there with my mom when I drove up to LA from Coronado, since we had only two nights I went ahead and made reservations before hand for both days. I have to say that our late- night dinner at Craft was incredible. Everything was absolutely delicious, our waiter was outstanding and the interior decor is very nice, I study architecture so know a bit about that haha. I recommend it for special occasions though because it is a bit pricey, but absolutely worth every penny."

  • "My wife and I returned to Craft for dinner after not going for about 6 months. I won't stay away that long any more. This restaurant continues to be one of the best in L A. Outstanding service, great food what more could anyone want? I love it!"

  • "Craft is so refreshing and amazing! The tables are spaced perfectly so you're away from noise and feel like you're the only ones there. The food is balanced and well-executed and made with organic and local ingredients. Definitely leave room for dessert. On top of all that, the service is delightful. I want to go back already."

  • "We've been to Craft restaurants in other cities, but this was our first time in Century City. Since we were staying in a hotel a short walk away, it was very convenient, and certainly the best restaurant in the area. Service was perfect, and the food was excellent. We dined with a friend and took our time; no one rushed us, which was great for a Saturday night. Nice seating outside for those who wanted it. Very modern inside. We'll definitely be back when we're visiting the area again."

  • "We had gone to this restaurant as a place close to where we were staying in Century City, through an internet search. What a find, you are welcomed when you arrive and from then on, you are looked after superbly. It is real gourmet dining with the staff very helpful and knowledgable about the menu and wines. We shared a starter, before our mains which left us space to share a dessert too. We asked about a local wine to go with our food and were recommended an excellent wine that was reasonable priced. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "Craft was a last minute addition to our 25th anniversary trip and I cannot say enough about how special they treated us. Food was incredible and I would strongly recommend to others.... cocktails were also very creative and tasty...."

  • "Went here for our anniversary since it was Tom Colicchio's restaurant and have never been to any of his properties. There were surprising touches like our names being printed on our menus. The service was outstanding and probably the best we've had in LA, but the food just isn't up to snuff for the price. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and aside from the Halibut dish which was stellar everything else was just so-so. The steak course was super chewy, and the bone marrow pasta was by far the most disappointing dish. The wine pairings were spot on, so kudos to the sommelier. I wasn't expecting Melisse, but for the money we spent I expected to have a well crafted amazing meal. "

  • "We expected the food to be amazing and it was. We expected the service to be great & it exceeded our expectations; it was impeccable & surprisingly gracious, especially considering we arrived 20 minutes late on a Friday night. "

  • "In the real life war between resteraunts, Craft is a hands-down winner. Amazing food & excellent service. I had high expectations & Craft exceeded them all. "

  • "I have eaten at 2 other Craft restaurants (Las Vegas and NY) and had big expectations for this visit. I was surprisingly let down. Avocado salad was fantastic, potato puree was on par with other locations and mushrooms were very good, but we ordered the ribeye and it just wasn't very good. It's hard to detail exactly why but meat seemed a little tough and for a ribeye there was little to no marble. Service was great. I guess I just consider Craft a steakhouse and expected more from the actual steak."

  • "The folks at Craft LA exceeded even their normal very high standards with absolutely extraordinary service and delicious, fresh, perfectly prepared food."

  • "My wife and I have dined at Craft 3 times in the last 3 weeks, the staff and servers make you feel like family. The food is so amazing in its presentation and creativity. This time we had appetizers in the very cool outside bar. The appetizers were as amazing as the menu items in the restaurant. Cheddar hush puppies with smoky maple dipping sauce...wow! We brought a dear friend and his partner for a birthday celebration and the entire staff at Craft made it a truly memorable occasion. Especially the managers Todd who added some amazing & unexpected surprises."

  • "Tom Colicchio has done it again. Great example of casual elegeance with an original menu focused on local origination. Our server recommended family style, so we ordered a bit of everything. Not any one dish stood out above the others as it was all fantastic, cooked to perfection and in a unique but not overly fussy presentation style. Although everyone at our table agreed that the Mugifuji pork was the best they had ever tasted. Service was exceptional as well. This was a business dinner but will be back with friends and family to enjoy this special find again. "

  • "Very memorable food of incredible quality. Everything is cooked to prefection. Even the vegetables are outstanding. Wonderful dessert. Excellent service. Nice touch at the end; they sent us home with a little bag of rolled oats. Very impressive restaurant. The only very slight negative is that the decor could use a touch of warmth. I can't wait to go back."

  • "Great food, service, etc. once again. This place is great and very consistent. One of the best lunch spots in the Century City, Beverly Hills area."

  • "I let the staff know in advance via Open Table that it was my colleague's birthday. They greeted her with 'happy birthday,' printed up special menus for us, and sent over complementary cake. Craft made her birthday extra special."

  • "Been there twice now. Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to. Definitely plan to go every time I'm in LA! Short ribs and gnocchi best ever."

  • "We were with another couple who previously enjoyed their dining experience so we were expecting a memorable meal. Unfortunately what I remember most is that we paid a lot of money for only adequate food. The various menu items sounded wonderful but what was delivered left us unimpressed. Take for example the Ricotta Cavatelli with Wild Mushrooms ($21) first course. Between the menu and our waiter's description of the dish we were waiting with great anticipation. What arrived was a small plate of very ordinary pasta with only a few very small indiscernible pieces of what I assume were the wild mushrooms. The main courses and side dishes were ordinary. Not what I was expecting from what is touted as one of the best restaurants in LA. "

  • "What can one say, when every element of your dining pleasure is carefully choreographed and then performed to perfection. We did not choose this occasion to experiment with exotic food, although we could have, rather we selected food that we are well familiar and cook regularly at home including scallops, chicken, calamari, pork bellies, cauliflower and mashed potatoes to name a few. We were very happy to see that while we fancy ourselves as good cooks, the meals delivered by these professionals allowed us to grow in our appreciation of the culinary arts. We thought the value was good, service was excellent, ambiance lively but subtle and overall a very memorable evening."

  • "Frankly, this was a bit of a let down. The food is very well prepared and the ingredients are of the highest quality, but the preparation is missing any "Wow Factor." It is ultimately very simple fair, most of which is under seasoned. The highlights are actually the side dishes and first courses. Beet salad and octopus were brilliant. Mushrooms and carrots were unique. The main courses, however, were a bit lifeless and bland. I was expecting more. Also, be prepared to holler to be heard. We were a party of 7 and there was no possible way to have a conversation with anyone but the person sitting right next to you."

  • "I've been to Craft many times, and the place has never disappointed for food or service. This time I learned a valuable lesson to make best use of the kitchen-to-table service style - order many things, split them all with the table, but order one main course meat. We had room for lots of shared starters, enjoyed the entree, and then had dessert, all accompanied by a great wine. Definitely will go back for my seventh (eighth?) time next trip to LA."

  • "The menu was puzzling and my friend and I were at a loss to choose based on it. We didn't start out with a very helpful waiter, either. But luckily there was another server who also seemed to be assigned to our table and she made some fantastic recommendations. I eat out at some of LA's best restaurants pretty often, and I've gotten a little bored and hard to impress, but I can't get some of the dishes we had at Craft out of my mind, especially the roasted hen of the woods mushrooms. Yum! Beware the bartender, though. He was as unhelpful as possible. Next time I'll skip the drink at the bar and head straight to my table."

  • "Went there to celebrate a friends birthday dinner and we all really enjoyed the food and the service was great too! The waiter reccomended sharing so we did. Had the Octopus, Avocado Tamatillo(favorite), Sole, Barramundi, Gratin potatoes, cauliflower (favorite), and flat iron (favorite), all were really good and I've noted my faves! They even had special menus printed personalizing birthday wishes to my friend. Overall great experience, would go there again!"

  • "Came here with a friend to enjoy a nice night out. The service was superb. They had our table set and ready for us when we walked in, they new my name when I confirmed the reservation. They offered menu suggestions, never let our wine glasses empty... But that's not what made our dinner so out of this world... The food was outstanding. Some of the best in LA. Everything was perfect. From ambiance, to food to service... Will definitely visit again!"
