We were so blown away by the service and food at the Coyote Cafe that we went back again for an encore performance which was even better! Chris, the GM, is a gem and made excellent recommendations. He made us feel as if we were guests in his own home. Start with either the organic baby lettuce or Coyote Café Caesar salads that were beautifully presented. For entrees we loved the Osso Buco, Short Ribs, Filet Mignon, and the Grilled Fiery Hot & Sweet Tiger Prawns (loved it so much the first night that I ordered it again). We savored every morsel of our meals! Chris, Carlos (our excellent waiter) and his assistant, Dylan (an aspiring author) were extremely helpful and friendly. If you are a foodie, Coyote Café is not to be missed!

Our group was seated at a circular booth which could not comfortably seat all of us, thus one member had to sit in a singular chair on the aisle side of the booth. This made service a bit awkward and put the singularly seated group member in the midst of service traffic. This was a minor inconvenience, but one that could have been avoided considering the restaurant was certainly not filled to capacity. Have been eating at the Coyote since Mark Miller was the proprietor, and the quality of the entire operation is still stellar. I'll be back.

Here's a chance to get a break from New Mexico chiles. Every dish that we tried had notable flavoring subtleties. The restaurant was also very careful to adopt their dishes to our dietary needs. The fall menu included osso buco, which was set on a bed of couscous. To die for.

The staff at Coyote Cafe made all the difference, even before we got to the great food. Everyone was welcoming, knowledgable, attentive. They recommended a great seasonal starter to go with a wonderful sea bass for me, and helped my daughter decide on prawns. Coyote has a real vibrancy to it, from the open kitchen to the stunning artwork. I visit every time I get to Santa Fe.

The food was fabulous! The chef really has the skills to make each dish stand out. The desserts were perfectly made. The real star of the night was the service. The owners and staff mad my wife and myself feel like the only special people in Santa Fe. This was even during the Chili and Wine festival. The restaurant was crowded but we were well taken care of. The elk tenderloin that my wife ordered was the best I have EVER eaten. This is huge because I have been guiding for elk for over 20 years. The local beer I wanted was not available so before we could look at the menu to order a different one the server brought us sparkling wine to say they were sorry! This total experience was the best!!

I took my sister out while we were in Santa Fe for her first visit. The food was excellent, our service excellentand we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I do have 2 complaints though. Our salads appeared before our cocktails.....we were on our own for the first time since we were girls at home and felt in the mood to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings, not feel rushed and somehow off kilter. AND. My sister found a piece of tinfoil in her main course. She told our waiter and he apologized but I think they might have made a little more of it and perhaps comped our dessert, for example. We shared the rhubarb soup to finish things up and it was exceptionally good. Very different, very fresh and full of flavor. Otherwise.............

It was so cold and drafty inside the restaurant. We asked the waiter to please turn the airconditioner off. He apologized for the draft. Guests at a neighboring table covered their shoulders with napkins. The food was not like the food at Geronimo's. Same chef and some menu items the same. The prices are high, but the dining ambience is poor. No table cloth and a pub like atmosphere. We did not stay for dessert. The service was excellent and prompt.

My opinion: this restaurant is living off of its reputation. First of all, it's decor is very dated-late 80's-early 90's cool, but worn & passé. It needs an up-date. The food was bland, bland, every course not pleasantly tasty, just bland. The best-tasting item we had during our 3 courses was the complimentary palate cleansing coconut gelato. This was a Sunday night so maybe the usual cooking staff was off. The food was beautifully presented, the waitstaff excellent, but the food did not correspond to the reputation or the prices. I don't mind paying, but when I do, I want my palate & tongue to be tantalized. Anyone can have an off night. There are too many excellent, tasty, flavor-filled menus in Santa Fe to risk going back here.

We go to this restaurant each time we come to Santa Fe. We were a little disappointed because we felt our waitperson was over committed regarding the number of tables he was responsible for Saturday evening. We didn't even get to enjoy the great breads they serve because our waitperson was too busy to note the oversight.

and were in town for a few days. Found the Coyote Cafe just coincidentally, and were blown away. Although we clearly are not among the movers & shakers of Santa Fe (who were in evidence among the restaurant clientele), we were welcomed by restaurant staff and treated graciously throughout the evening. The main courses (southwestern style prawns & polenta; a NY strip steak on special that evening) were wonderful; and the attention to detail and presentation persuaded us that we should try a dessert (an incredible chiffon cake with strawberry-rhubarb(!) sauce) that topped things off perfectly. Finished with a snifter of brandy (yes, the bar has a respectable selection of cordials) and will remember our visit as a perfect Santa Fe evening.

Food was outstanding, service was excellent. Only issue is that my husband and I split an appetizer and we were charged a split fee. The menu says there is a $6 split fee for a main course, but does not say anything about a fee for splitting an appetizer. With $42 and $35 dollar main courses and wine, it is a bit much to have been charged this fee. Otherwise, food is outstanding and we return several times every year when we are here.

If you go expecting Mark Miller's New Mexican cuisine of old you will be disappointed. Perhaps a name change is in order? They still offer the Cowboy Ribeye but the new menu is more of the offerings from Geronimo's (Tellicherry Pepper Elk steak). The food is excellent nonetheless and the service is excellent as well. Dessert and drinks (alder wood infused Manhattan) are also excellent.
