  • "Great white table cloth spot near the plaza. Sister restaurant to Geronimos (a favorite). So you will find some menu overlap."

  • "Cool place with first rate food. The appetizers are awesome; you can make a meal from just those items! Get the "surf and turf" tartar, Lobster bisque, wedge salad, or the foie gras with scallops. All are delicious and filling. This is a not- to- be -missed restaurant in Santa Fe!"

  • "My opinion: this restaurant is living off of its reputation. First of all, it's decor is very dated-late 80's-early 90's cool, but worn & passé. It needs an up-date. The food was bland, bland, every course not pleasantly tasty, just bland. The best-tasting item we had during our 3 courses was the complimentary palate cleansing coconut gelato. This was a Sunday night so maybe the usual cooking staff was off. The food was beautifully presented, the waitstaff excellent, but the food did not correspond to the reputation or the prices. I don't mind paying, but when I do, I want my palate & tongue to be tantalized. Anyone can have an off night. There are too many excellent, tasty, flavor-filled menus in Santa Fe to risk going back here."

  • "We go to to Coyote Cafe every August after the SWAIA Indian Market Sneak Preview. Our 6:45 reservation gets us there ahead of the crowd and we feel comfortable taking a leisurely pace. Our meals were fantastic. I had scallops and my husband had shrimp. Perfection! The service was five star as well. Love this restaurant!"

  • "We go to this restaurant each time we come to Santa Fe. We were a little disappointed because we felt our waitperson was over committed regarding the number of tables he was responsible for Saturday evening. We didn't even get to enjoy the great breads they serve because our waitperson was too busy to note the oversight."

  • "and were in town for a few days. Found the Coyote Cafe just coincidentally, and were blown away. Although we clearly are not among the movers & shakers of Santa Fe (who were in evidence among the restaurant clientele), we were welcomed by restaurant staff and treated graciously throughout the evening. The main courses (southwestern style prawns & polenta; a NY strip steak on special that evening) were wonderful; and the attention to detail and presentation persuaded us that we should try a dessert (an incredible chiffon cake with strawberry-rhubarb(!) sauce) that topped things off perfectly. Finished with a snifter of brandy (yes, the bar has a respectable selection of cordials) and will remember our visit as a perfect Santa Fe evening."

  • "Food was outstanding, service was excellent. Only issue is that my husband and I split an appetizer and we were charged a split fee. The menu says there is a $6 split fee for a main course, but does not say anything about a fee for splitting an appetizer. With $42 and $35 dollar main courses and wine, it is a bit much to have been charged this fee. Otherwise, food is outstanding and we return several times every year when we are here."

  • "Our waiter, Carlos, was outstanding he offered perfect service without being overwhelming. When I was undecided about cooking temperature of my filet , he offered "medium rare plus. ". BAr lovely. Foot excellent. A wonderful dining experience !"

  • "If you go expecting Mark Miller's New Mexican cuisine of old you will be disappointed. Perhaps a name change is in order? They still offer the Cowboy Ribeye but the new menu is more of the offerings from Geronimo's (Tellicherry Pepper Elk steak). The food is excellent nonetheless and the service is excellent as well. Dessert and drinks (alder wood infused Manhattan) are also excellent."

  • "Have been coming for years, and have always enjoyed the Coyote Cafe, but this year their Fiery Prawn dish was one of the best dinners I have ever had, anywhere! I started with the most unusual caesar salad with an unbelievable presentation…have to see it to believe it! Following the caesar, the prawn, polenta, and veg dish was truly outstanding…bravo, Coyote Cafe!!"

  • "Went for early dinner before opera with beau. Very professional waitstaff without pretension. Ambience with an uplifting modernist feel. We split the mac and cheese with local NM chiles as an appetizer (yum) and got a bit too full four our elk tenderloin (fabulous) and shrimp with pineapple salsa (a bit overcooked but good). Would definitely recommend."

  • "We go back to Coyote every time we are in Santa Fe. For food, ambiance and service, it's the best. This was our second time there in our three week stay in Santa Fe. And, if we lived there, this would be at the top of the list of favorites. Highly recommended!"

  • "We were traveling with my mother-in-law for a summer break and wished to enjoy a nice restaurant without being too much of a shock to the inlaw on an overly nice ambience or large ticket. The mother-in-law was still a handful but the restaurant was terrific. Our food was delicious- the steak and the salmon dinner with desserts of the Banana Foster pie and the ice cream sampler can't be missed. Service was great as well...thank you for an enjoyable experience."

  • "Food and service were great. Thought it was overpriced though. Wine list also very expensive. Had no wine, dessert or appetizers and dinner for six was almost $300.. Great though for a special occasion."

  • "Dinner was quite good but the Senorita Margarita is the best margarita ever. The foam is the best. We had to come back another night just for another Senorita Margarita. Also, our server (I think her name is Chris), was great. She seemed like a lovely person."

  • "This is our 3rd visit under the current owners. Consistently interesting, inventive food with good portions (ie not tapas-sized ones!). Service is terrific and friendly. Noise level is fine, even when they're busy. We'll go back for a 4th visit!"

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. For lunch, we like upstairs, outside. But for dinner (which we had the other night), the inside, beautiful, modern, fun dining room is best. Especially when the server is Lynsey. We don't live in Santa Fe but she remembered us from LAST YEAR - by name - and she even remembered our drink orders (which hadn't changed), why we were in Santa Fe (opera) and much more about us. This was no trick. She's just really good! And so is the food at Coyote. We're staying in town for three weeks this time and will be back at Coyote a few times - - requesting a table with Lynsey."

  • "Have been eating at the coyote since it opened. Biggest complaint is the noise. Never had a bad meal there. I will return."

  • "Coyote Cafe was recommended by Fodors and we were not disappointed. The service was SUPERB, the menu was creative and well rounded, but we were absolutely stunned by the artful food styling! And it was just as delicious as beautiful. If you like it spicy, the prawns were amazing. Coyote Cafe is a culinary MUST."

  • "This is a takeover by the Geronimo chef and the food is good. The staff is unfortunately inattentive. The space is ugly. This restaurant should be the Santa Fe in town star but it falls short."
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "If I have but one Santa Fe restaurant to choose, Coyote Cafe is it. Incredible food! Great service. All was grand! Our recent dinner is still the topic of much conversation. We eagerly will return."

  • "Eat at Coyote a couple of times a year. This was one of the best meals to come out of the kitchen . Service as always was great.Jordan Weiss made the experience exceptional."

  • "Food was good, nice wine list but overall found it very pricey. Over two hundred twenty dollars for two people and we did not order an expensive wine or have multiple drinks."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "We were not terribly hungry and decided to order 'starters' one at a time. Our waiter was delightful and helpful and also gave us the luxury of pacing our evening. The wild mushroom dishes were extraordinary and I sopped up every morsel of those morels. We enjoyed the unusual presentation of Cesar salad but would probably opt for a different choice next time. The restaurant is showing signs of being a bit tired and could use some updating. But the food was terrific."

  • "Everyone at the table was in awe of the presentation of the cessation and crab salads and savored the Maine lobster and ossa bucco dishes."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "The restaurant has great food, athough, it is expensive. The pork Osso Buco was out of this world, and the Caesar salad was like no other Caesar. It was really delicious and could be split. My only complaint is that we felt rushed because they were trying to turn tables. This was disappointing because at that price point, we should have been able to feel relaxed, and we never really did."

  • "Best margarita! Very friendly staff. Had a great evening."

  • "We were so much looking forward to our last meal in Santa Fe. We went upstairs and were met by the Maitre D' who rather than helping us made life difficult by displaying attitude that I have rarely seen. We said we had a reservation, rather than checking his system, he directed upstairs to the cantina. Wromng, & downstairs we marched, and the fun really began. The chap argued whether we had a reservation. I'm a PHD and generally dress appropriately when in public. We waited for 10 minutes until we were finally engaged, nothing was done to ameliorate the situation. Most of the food, portions and freshness were evident. However, my wife's chicken w/o the sauce was tough. It was a Sunday night and there was little energy in the room."

  • "One of the finest restaurants we have been to. The menu is creative. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is always fun and relaxed. If there is a better bowl of lobster bisque anywhere I would like to know where. The bisque is creamy, with rich flavors and plenty of lobster meat. We both had the fiery hot and sweet prawns which were prepared to perfection. The strawberry chiffon cake with basil ice cream completed the meal well. Would strongly encourage visitors to Santa Fe to dine at the Coyote Cafe."

  • "We have eaten at Coyote Cafe several times in a period of many years. We always enjoy our experience there. This time the service was exceptional. My only complaint was my wedge salad which was overdressed with an oily tasteless dressing. We will definitely always go to Coyote Cafe when we visit Santa Fe"

  • "My experience has been the witness of what I would term a slow malaise over the fine dining scene throughout the country. It has been rare to find atmosphere, food, and service that even meet expectation, must less satisfy the prices charged. July 3rd. Coyote Cafe changes all that. From greeting, to cocktails, to salad and entree everything was executed perfectly. Standing out was flavor profile, watermelon gazpacho was sublime. My last visit here a couple of years ago was not so stellar, cudo's to the staff for a spectacular operation! Don't miss the opportunity to dine here."

  • "The Coyote Cafe served my the best meal I have ever had! I had the Elk Tenderloin and it was so tender and tasty it was out of this world! The folks there knew we were passing through and were new customers. Our waitress brought my wife and I each a lovely glass of Champaign on the house. The service was super with our waitress being very knowledgable and very well spoken with just the right amount of attention. The cornbread was incredible (I don't even like cornbread!!) They made a fresh box of it for us to take home with us. I don't think we could have asked for more. BRAVO!!! p.s. The online reservation system worked perfectly!"
