We go to Coyote Cafe every time we're in Santa Fe and it never disappoints us. The same was true with this visit The food was amazing; I had Lamb Wellington and my friend had Elk Tenderloin, with an equally wonderful Caymus Special Selection Napa Valley Cabernet. Kelvin had the perfect table waiting for us and Jordan (one of our favorite people/servers) knew just the right wine and entrees to recommend. We always feel right at home and cannot recommend Coyote Cafe highly enough!

10 out of 10. My wife and I had dinner here this past Sunday night and it was awesome. We enjoyed our time at Coyote Cafe from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Service was spot on, our the meal set a new bar to beat for us. I had the Elk, my wife the sea bass. Both were perfect. A must go when in Santa Fe.

We had such a nice time. Wonderful dinner, wine and when we couldn't decide on what we wanted for dessert we had simply ordered our top three choices. Yes, we ate them all. The night before we had dinner elsewhere and while it was marvelous too it was far too pretentious. Here, the service was great and, even better, they were real.

We had the baby lettuce salad, which was crisp and refreshing and the elk tenderloin, which was very tender. The snap peas were a wonderful contract to the elk and garlic smashed potatoes. I've been to Coyote Cafe before (with a girlfriend) but was hesitant to come with my husband as he does not like snooty restaurants, and some places in Santa Fe are so pretentious. However, the service was friendly and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's been a while since we'd been to Coyote Cafe and were looking forward to it. More than a half hour after our orders were taken, the food arrived. 3 out of 4 meals were sub par. Two of us had the game hen which was very tough. One had the osso buco--nice presentation but tasteless. The only diner who was happy had the chilean sea bass. We don't mind paying top dollar for good food, but we may as well have thrown the money in the street. We won't be back.

I had visited Coyote Cafe a number of numbers when it was under different ownership. I hadn't realized that it had changed until I sat down and looked at the menu. It went from fun, creative SW cuisine to an overpriced Fine dining experience that REALLY catches you by surprise. It reflects nothing from what it used to be.....so the restaurant should change names. We ended up paying way more than what we wanted to pay.....and for food that was mediocre for the price. Also.....as a vegan.....there wasn't much on the menu and not much done to accommodate me. I never understand why the most expensive restaurants have the least number of options for vegans.

No room for dessert, but the decaf coffee was rich and full bodied.

We were so blown away by the service and food at the Coyote Cafe that we went back again for an encore performance which was even better! Chris, the GM, is a gem and made excellent recommendations. He made us feel as if we were guests in his own home. Start with either the organic baby lettuce or Coyote Café Caesar salads that were beautifully presented. For entrees we loved the Osso Buco, Short Ribs, Filet Mignon, and the Grilled Fiery Hot & Sweet Tiger Prawns (loved it so much the first night that I ordered it again). We savored every morsel of our meals! Chris, Carlos (our excellent waiter) and his assistant, Dylan (an aspiring author) were extremely helpful and friendly. If you are a foodie, Coyote Café is not to be missed!

Our group was seated at a circular booth which could not comfortably seat all of us, thus one member had to sit in a singular chair on the aisle side of the booth. This made service a bit awkward and put the singularly seated group member in the midst of service traffic. This was a minor inconvenience, but one that could have been avoided considering the restaurant was certainly not filled to capacity. Have been eating at the Coyote since Mark Miller was the proprietor, and the quality of the entire operation is still stellar. I'll be back.

Here's a chance to get a break from New Mexico chiles. Every dish that we tried had notable flavoring subtleties. The restaurant was also very careful to adopt their dishes to our dietary needs. The fall menu included osso buco, which was set on a bed of couscous. To die for.

The food was fabulous! The chef really has the skills to make each dish stand out. The desserts were perfectly made. The real star of the night was the service. The owners and staff mad my wife and myself feel like the only special people in Santa Fe. This was even during the Chili and Wine festival. The restaurant was crowded but we were well taken care of. The elk tenderloin that my wife ordered was the best I have EVER eaten. This is huge because I have been guiding for elk for over 20 years. The local beer I wanted was not available so before we could look at the menu to order a different one the server brought us sparkling wine to say they were sorry! This total experience was the best!!

I took my sister out while we were in Santa Fe for her first visit. The food was excellent, our service excellentand we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I do have 2 complaints though. Our salads appeared before our cocktails.....we were on our own for the first time since we were girls at home and felt in the mood to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings, not feel rushed and somehow off kilter. AND. My sister found a piece of tinfoil in her main course. She told our waiter and he apologized but I think they might have made a little more of it and perhaps comped our dessert, for example. We shared the rhubarb soup to finish things up and it was exceptionally good. Very different, very fresh and full of flavor. Otherwise.............

It was so cold and drafty inside the restaurant. We asked the waiter to please turn the airconditioner off. He apologized for the draft. Guests at a neighboring table covered their shoulders with napkins. The food was not like the food at Geronimo's. Same chef and some menu items the same. The prices are high, but the dining ambience is poor. No table cloth and a pub like atmosphere. We did not stay for dessert. The service was excellent and prompt.
