A word from Cowfish
Located inside a historic and beautifully restored 100 year old brick building, Cowfish offers a fun and lively atmosphere paired with excellent food and knowledgeable service. Our menu features hand cut steaks, local grass fed burgers, fresh fish and our innovative pastas and salads. All our beers are brewed on site by the Lander Brewing Co. Its popular lineup of refreshing, made from scratch microbrews includes beers that have won awards at the Great American Beer festival, the World Beer Cup and other competitions. Enjoy a romantic dinner in our candlelit dining room or a more casual dining experience in our pub. In the summer, we offer the added attraction of dining on our outdoor patio under a trellis of wild Cascade hops.Continued

  • "Cowfish has become a very popular place in our little town and it can be difficult to even eat there unless you have reservations. The food was delicious and exquisite, everything was sanitary, and our waitress Heather was friendly and accomodating. However, they have jam-packed as many people as can humanly fit into the restaurant and you can barely walk to your seat. I could hear everything the people around us were saying as they were all about 3 feet away, which didn't lend itself to a romantic, private dinner. A heavy-set person would have a hard time just squeezing through the chairs to get to a seat. I would love to see Cowfish expand their space so they can fit more people and so that it is more comfortable."

  • "Our family of 4 adult eaters came away extraordinarily satisfied with each of our meals. A salmon, 2 steaks and a meatloaf all prepared to perfection, with ample quantity and excellent quality. The Cowfish didn't disappoint in the least. Steaks cooked MR just right, salmon flavorful and moist with unique but yummy polenta and grilled asparagus. You don't get meatloaf in a fine-dining restaurant everyday, but this was tasty, moist with enough to save as tomorrow's lunch. It's spendy but worth it if you're going to take the plunge. March Madness 2 for 1 entrees helps."

  • "It's hard to find good food in a rural area, but Cowfish makes it possible. They have great specials and deals, like BOGO for the month of March. The calamari was a odd blend of flavors, but props for originality. The entrees and dessert were fantastic. I had the salmon, while my fiance had the ribs, both were cooked perfectly. We both greatly enjoyed dinner with very generous portions and decided to try dessert. We had the chocolate cake, we were warned by our waitress that it is cooked to order and takes 15 minutes. We had the time and are very thankful we waited. Delicious! Food, service and ambience were great."

  • "Be aware that all offerings, soup or salad? will add $$ to the ticket. A wedge salad $9 becomes $10 if split in the kitchen. It's as if each offer has a cost attached. Once you catch on...it's manageable."

  • "Made reservations for my anniversary. Under special remarks, I put down, restaurant only, do NOT want the bar/lounge. They stuck us in the bar again. (My wife encourgaged me not to make a scene and just eat in there). Server was great, she was really busy but still did a good job and always had a smile. Ordered a steak medium. It came out medium rare. I have a policy, never to send food back to the kitchen. So I had it med rare. Overall we enjoyed ourselves. However, this is the second time I have requested not to sit in the bar and they seat me there. Not sure if I will eat there again since I detest being in bars."

  • "My husband and I went out on a date and enjoyed our time very much. We appreciated the discount with March Madness! Food was yummy, although I wish there were veges served with main dishes. Ambiance great, and enjoyed that kids were in the restaurant and not shunned. Casual feel, but you can dress up a bit and enjoy that, too. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. One of the best we have ever had. She works as a teacher, but is working at the Cowfish for now."

  • "Yesterday was the first time I dined out at your restaurant. The interior was great. Food was outstanding! However our service was lacking. We never got the bread we ordered. Our steak was served first, followed by the salads 2 minutes after, and our appetizer another 5 minutes later. As you can imagine our table was overcrowded with plates, not to mention we did not appreciate getting our food out of order."

  • "While my experience at the cow fish in raleigh was outstanding, opentable actually made the reservation at cow fish in Wyoming? Why? I live in nc. The manager at the cow fish at north hills actually honored the reservation after we finally realized the mistake since they do not use opentable. He was great, but I am seriously upset with opentable. This could have ruined a celebration night for our group!"

  • "This restaurant was recommended to my husband and I due to its reputation for great steaks. We had reservations and were seated in a prompt manner (within 5 minutes). The atmosphere was very nice and service was great. However, we really did not enjoy our meal. The steaks (dry rub ribeye) were dry (cooked medium-well) and the rub gave the steaks a burnt flavor. I enjoyed the roasted potatoes. However, my husband wanted to get french fries and the waiter told him that the chefs put together the choices as they should be eaten. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the fried leeks. The wine was reasonably priced. My husband ordered soda and it was really flat tasting. Overall, it just wasn't the experience we expected for a $100 meal."

  • "We were a party of six and chose the Cowfish for a great night out or a special occasion. This was Valentines dinner and they did a superb job both in terms of food and service. There staff is always three steps above most places. Well trained, very attentive and spot on for quality service. The food at the Cowfish is tops every time. The presentation, preparation, quality are consistently excellent. This restaurant is a real gem for our community and for folks coming through town it is a "not to miss" part of the Wyoming experience. You will be going home saying "we had dinner at a restaurant with a funny name that was better than 95% of the restaurants we have ever eaten at anywhere.""

  • "Made reservations. Had to wait for the hostess to show up, while waiting had wait staff just walking by, not addressing that no one was helping us. Made reservations because I wanted to eat in the restaurant, was shown a table in the bar/lounge. Asked for a table. Was told we could sit in the lounge for about 10min then they would get us a table. We were never given the table. Sat on hard wood bar stool with no padding. The lounge was hot and noisy, just wanted to have a nice relaxing enjoyable date night, not a bar/lounge expirence, especially since neither my wife or myself drink. I ate here 1 time before for a business dinner. Had a great expirence and wanted to treat my wife to something special. This was not the experience I wanted."

  • "We were blessed to eat at the Cowfish two nights in a row for two separate dinner engagements. The food did not disappoint either time. They proved that they can cook a variety of meals that really boarder on being exquisite. The ambience is shabby-sheik, the food is world class. The price is moderately expensive ie. $23 for a mid-priced meal. The waitresses act as if it truly is a pleasure to serve. Would heartily recommend it!"

  • "The food was great but three of six diners had the wrong steak served with their meals, which tells me that the server didn't write up the order correctly. The iced tea was served warm without ice. It took 10 minutes for the server to ask me for my drink order. In the past, I have always received amazing service specifically by Cassidy and Emma. Unfortunately Emma no longer works there and Cassidy was not available for our dining experience. I was astonished that the server we had was so unprepared and unskilled which is very unusual for a Cowfish experience. As usual the chef, Chris, prepared amazing food....I will return because Chris is an incredible chef!"

  • "I order the 8 oz filet or I sometimes order "off menu" with a grilled shrimp. I rarely get a steak that's tough and the shrimp is always to perfection. The staff is friendly and helpful in answering any questions you may have. The menu is upscale which is not always to my liking but the meals can be ordered the way you prefer (without sauces or grilled rather than fried..etc). The STAFF in general are quite happy to make your dinning experience a happy one."
