Diner Reviews
  • "Couscous provides a welcoming atmosphere inside and out! The patio dining is wonderful and the view from the main dining room is spectacular at night. Our favorite dish - Mussels La Goulette - comes with just enough bread to soak up the creamy white wine sauce that is spiced up with harissa and capers. Delicious!"

  • "Our entire dining experience was wonderful! Drinks were refreshing and clearly the bartender knew what he was doing. For an appetizer, the mussels are a MUST. Heck, order them as your meal. They are to die for. At this point in the meal, we were sold but entrees were the icing on top. The outside patio was relaxing and our waitress was extremely knowledgable and helpful. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the special of the day - a trout dish that was amazing! The appetizers were also delicious and we skipped dessert because we were stuffed!"

  • "Excellent Mideastern food and service! Our second visit."

  • "The food is different and delicious. It is all variations on the same theme but the variations are lovely and not something you will get elsewhere. The Northern African spices make the food exotic but the combination of couscous, meat & vegetables seems familiar. It is in the old AMUSE space and maintains the outdoor seating with a wonderful view of the city. I cannot wait to go back in nice weather to take advantage of it."

  • "...it has to be great. took my parents and my in-laws to Couscous on Saturday night and had a very enjoyable evening. loved our server, a young man who was Tunisian and had an in-depth understanding of the food and style of cooking. the food was fantastic! just like what my husband and I ate during our most recent trip to morocco. all around, a lovely experience."

  • "We really enjoyed our experience at CouCous. We had members of our party that were from the Middle East and they were quite pleased with the food there. The hangar steak was absolutely delicious and tender, mussels flavorful and fun to share, salads fresh and all flavor/food combinations intriguing and plentiful. The apple tart was just like my British MIL used to make! Atmosphere is casual & fun --perfect for large parties. Wait staff pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. My pomegranate cocktail was the only thing that could use a little work. Everything else was PERFECT. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "I wish they go bald and make the dishes as authentic as possible. Food is not pretentious and real. Enjoyed the Turkish coffee Tunisian style. :)"

  • "Great food. The mussels are excellent! The creamy and tasty sauce left me wanting even more! Service was second to none. I always enjoy myself when I dine here. I'll be back!"

  • "The Royal Couscous is the best dish. Stick to the authentic Tunisian food- the other Mediterranean stuff is ok. The cocktails are really good- fresh."

  • "First time to Couscous and it won't be my last. The service was terrific - super attentive and friendly, but not in your face. The décor was warm and inviting - orange and blue and squishy cushions to lean against. The hummus was some of the best I've had (and I've had a LOT of hummus!) and the pita was hot and delicious. I ordered the salmon, which was well-prepared, although a tad too spicy for my wimpy palate. My dining companion had the shrimp and lobster couscous and she was very impressed. I was weak and indulged in the rice pudding-like dessert with dates and raisins and creamy deliciousness. I am a big fan of all Mediterranean cuisines and this was outstanding."

  • "Our server was spectacular..some of the items we had never tried before and when we truly disliked an item we were offered to replace it. Flavors were vibrant, drinks were eclectic, lighting was perfect and seating was great. I highly highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Nothing was terrible, nothing was great!c The bill, however, made us think that we had dined at a great restaurant. We had the mussels and chicken livers to start, both were fine, but the livers were over cooked and the mussels were tiny! The drinks when they arrived were good, but $3.00 surcharge to have a drink up (no ice). The entrees were fine, certainly nothing that would make you want to hurry back. The restaurant looks like it was re-designed by a group of unemployed actors used to doing stage sets and they certainly can pack the people in (close and loud, with no private conversation possible) A little space between the tables and something absorb the noise would be grealy appreciated. Perhaps you should just go someplace good!"

  • "I visited Couscous on a Wednesday evening and found the place deserted. The hummus was cold (it should be served at room temperature) and the recommended soup (chicken w/kale) was very bland. I spent $16.00 (without a drink or tip) and the wifi didn't even work. They need to improve to stay open."

  • "Did a birthday dinner here and it was not disappointing. staff and owners were friendly and very service oriented. Loved the food and wine.. atmosphere is exceptional and parking was easy. I'd definite l was a little cool to dine outside.. but outside patios dining looked like a great place in warmer weather!"

  • "We used a ScoutMob deal and our server was still quite amicable, which isn't often the case with discount meals. The food was superb, knocked it out of the park...pun intended, due to location. The lamb risotto was one of the better dishes I've had in recent memory. We will come back again for sure, hope to enjoy a tasty meal on the patio when it's a little warmer."

  • "Stick to couscous dishes. We weren't too impressed with our appetizers. My husbands steak was not good. My braised lamb shank couscous was great. Chicken livers were raw. So awful. We sent back and they didn't charge us for it. It was ok but won't be going back."

  • "The food was good. I forgot the name of our server but her hair was a short low blonde cut. She was friendly and polite. However me and my lovely girlfriend felt slightly cheated. We bought the 2 for $29 Scoutmob since we never dined here before and that was our segway into the restaurant. However, when we got the check there was a basically 20 dollar addition onto to the initial $29 so it was really 2 for $50. I didn't feel like that was honest because it was basically full proce and not representative of how little we got for $50. Especially the extremely small appetizer plate. All in all, it was a good restaurant but I wouldn't recommend it because of the sly taxes and automatic gratuity slipped into the Scoutmob deal."

  • "The appetizers were wonderful! The table service was helpful and knowledgable, but the kitchen was slow on delivery. The vegetable couscous was flavorful and enough for two! Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "My wife and I visited this restaurant on 2/15/14. The restaurant is tucked away, but not hard to find. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a host and seated immediately (we had reservations). The bar tender greeted us as we passed the bar and the waitress was at our table within 1 minute of of being seated. The menu was diverse but not overwhelming. They are truely a Mediterranean restuarant (from staff to decor). The food was fresh and tasty. On the night we went, there was live music and warm vibes. You can expect to spend between 20-26 dollars per person depending on what you order. Overall, I would say it is a great date spot or a good spot to enjoy good with good friends. Its worth your time and money."

  • "This restaurant was a last minute find via search on the Open table website for a Valentine evening meal. It was a great choice and fantastic dinning experience. There was a special valentine evening menu that included a full meal consisting of appetizer, soup, main dish and dessert. There were multiple choices for each and the meal was reasonably priced per person. A live band playing mediterainian music entertained well. The restaraunt is well decorated with a nice euro med touch. There is a nice patio outside for eating as well on the pleasant days that provide a nice view of Atl. Botanical Gardens and Piedmont Park. The service and meals were all great. The staff is very focused on taking care of its customers."

  • "I liked the overall ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. As far as the food...I had picke this place based on the high ratings. But I was a little disapointed with their signature couse couse dish. All the components of the dish were good. However, it was smothered in a tomato based sauce which is not a favorite of mine. If I had know that I would have ordered something else."

  • "My girlfriend and I tried this place out for Valentine's Day. They had a prix fixe menu so I can't judge the usual menu items for the most part, but the whole meal, from appetizer to dessert, was excellent. For entrees, I ordered some savory beef short ribs on top of parsnips while my girlfriend really enjoyed the lamb couscous. All of the dishes we had were very flavorful in their own varied way. I will tell my friends about this place and hope to be back soon to try out the daily menu."

  • "Superbowl Sunday so not too many people and less noise. I was expecting typical pita, humus, stuffed grape leaves, etc. Surprised by a menu chocked full of interesting choices. We chose lots of lamb dishes: lamb sausage appetizer, lamb shank couscous entree with vegetables and lamb risotto with mushrooms and goat cheese. The first 2 were my favorites. The lamb shank which I tend to order often at other restaurants was fall off the bone wonderful. Our server was delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Can't wait to go back and explore other dishes."

  • "A first time visit but we will definitely return because there are so many yummy possibilities presented on the menu. We shared a bowl of delicious mussels in a tomato broth that we scraped up until the bowl was clean. Pork confit on a creamy cauliflower puree was pure comfort food and the royal couscous feast was a delightful treat for hubby. Since we swapped plates midway through the meal I can say that our combination was a good choice as the feast had some heat and the confit did not. Service was outstanding. We'll be back!"

  • "Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine, but I must admit to enjoying my dinner at Couscous last weekend. Our South African waiter was very friendly, patient and helpful. He recommended some appetizers that all four of us enjoyed. I had the pan-seared duck special and loved it. The other three in our party each liked their entrees very much. To top it off, the prices for both wine and food are very reasonable. I highly recommend Couscous."

  • "We came here with a group of 10 for a birthday last weekend - we were greeted immediately and our table was ready. Our server promptly placed our drink and food orders. I was completely blown away by the food- I highly recommend the mussels for an app and the couscous feasts for a meal- so flavorful and cooked perfectly. There was also a dancer with music while we were there. So fun! Not to mention, she got our birthday girl dancing too. The only problem we encountered was when it was time to pay - apparently the system does not handle split checks with large groups very well - just a heads up to factor in this time. The server was apologetic though and I would not let this hinder my review of the place. I would absolutely come back here!"

  • "Went on New Year's Eve. Great place great atmosphere. The chef made his rounds and was truly an easy guy to talk to. Not just some schmuck going around glad handing because he has to. But, rather a proud business owner talking to his guests like people and asking for their feedback."

  • "It was our first dining experience here. I was interested in trying Morrocan food. We arrived at 7:15pm and were immediately seated. The place was maybe 40% full. The wine list features inexpensive wines. As appetizers we had chicken livers. I thought they were quite good. The pork was amzing. We also had the CousCous feast royal. That was very good. For desssert we had the Isreali couscous pudding. Shockingly delicious. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit."
