Cottonwood GrilleBoise outingMy husband and I loved the restaurant and will definitely go back there when we travel to Boise again.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite "go to" restaurantOur favorite "go to" restaurant because we know service, food, and staff are always consistent. Menu well rounded. Happy Hour nice to have cocktail & appetizer before dining, or just if you're not in the mood for a dinner. You won't be disappointed.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Cottonwood!Outdoor dining on the patio was heavenly. We had a great waiter, and the food was wonderful, as always.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMstill great! We enjoyed our meal immensely. The food was cooked perfectly & the service, even with a "newbie" shadowing, was impeccable.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNot for late nightOk it was a Sunday and the reservation was for 7 pm but I was too conscious of closing up chores, would not choose this for a late dinner. The staff was courteous but the message was there... By 8:30 we felt pressured6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst overnight in BoiseI was recommended to dine here by a former resident of Boise. It is a large and newish looking restaurant and in the main dining room, far from intimate architecture. The waiter was very helpful and nice with the food and wine (we had a varied selection by the glass). I found the food was very good, but nothing stellar, and all of it priced too high for what it was. Even if the salmon was perfectly cooked, at $35 it was too much for what I got. I would go back here if I was with someone who insisted on it, but I would likely not dine here again.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSit and chatThis restaurant is great for a long lunch or an after event stop. Summer tables by the river or winter by the fireplace, and always welcoming. We tend to linger here5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place for Sunday BrunchWhen I want to do something after church on Sunday, I first think of the Cottonwood Grille. It is out of the busy main areas of town, yet close in. It has lots of easy parking. It is near the Greenbelt, the 9th street bridge, and the Boise River, so it is lively but not noisy outside the patio area. I highly recommend their brunch menu which is diverse local foods and Pacific Northwest entrees.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMCottonwood Grille is back!
AfterCottonwood Grille is back!
After some disappointing meals some time ago, this trip with 3 friends was excellent. The food was delicious and expertly prepared, the proportions were generous and the service was very good. (A little slow from the bar, but otherwise excellent). I had a special marlin encrusted with nuts with a light curry flavoring that was quite tasty. My date had the special surf & turf and was extremely pleased with his meal. My friend had the seafood pasta -- best she's ever had, she said.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday BrunchThird time here and again the service was attentive and friendly. Stuffed French toast was delish, best quiche I've ever had, and the Scandinavian was to die for!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLittle pricey, but a nice placeDitched reservations at another place after hearing it wasn't such a good place. Got to Cottonwood a few minutes before my reservation amd had to wait to be seated, which wasn't a big deal. The staff was courteous, the food was awesome (gotta try thr Elk!), but the prices were a little steep for such a loud restaurant. I guess I thought that it would have been a little more formal, but that was my mistake. Overall, I was satisfied with Cottonwood and wouldn't hesistate to return for a special occassion.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in Boise,Great restaurant in Boise, can be upsacale as well as casual, depending on what you need for the evening5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDiningEverything was good. I asked for medium rare but should have asked for medium. I didn't even think to send it back . The wine the waitperson recommended was great. This is the second time we've been there and both times were good.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will be backCottonwood Grille is far and away our favorite restaurant of all time. We take visiting family there and they are always amazed. We have celebrated our past two anniversaries there and will continue to do so. We love it there.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the best place in Boise.Took my extended family to dinner the night before Mother's Day. Sat outside. As always, a wonderful experience.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great place to take clientsAs always, great food, wonderful service, strong from the moment you are greeted till when you leave.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite BoiseOne of our favorite Boise restaurants! Good food, a great view of the river, and a pleasant wait-staff make this a special place to go for lunch or dinner.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time. We cameHad a great time.
We came there for lunch on the day we got married and we return every year on our anniversary.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and food. VeryGreat service and food. Very lovely atmosphere. Very happy with my experience. Recommendation for everyone4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and friendly staffMy wife and I both had seafood. She had the sea bass and I had halibut. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. It is a large, beautiful space and the staff was very friendly.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI neglected to inform ourI neglected to inform our server that we needed to leave at a certain time to get to the Philharmonic. The room was filled with festive prom-goers. After our salad/soup course, I let him know, and he immediately got our food served and our (separate) checks delivered and processed.
Everything was delicious. I appreciated the staff constantly refilling our water glasses.
The only thing I would suggest is to have the server ask at the very beginning if the guests need to leave at a certain time. Our server on a previous occasion did that and we were able to get everything ordered & eaten, including dessert!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great romantic EasterHad a great romantic Easter dinner with my fiance we enjoy it every time we have dined here. Thank you and your staff very much for serving us a great experience and dinner.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad easter brunch at cottonwoodHad easter brunch at cottonwood with my family. The chorizo omelet was awesome. The french toast was the best I've ever had. Service was good too. I think they were a little understaffed in the kitchen but the staff did their best to overcome it. Overall a great experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPallet pleasing and professionallyPallet pleasing and professionally prepared dinner entrees wrapped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff were very polite and attentive.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood lunch experienceThe quality of the higher end dinner meals has gone down a bit. However, I think Cottonwood is a great lunch spot. My wife and I recently had a very nice lunch that included good food and reasonable lunch prices. My wife is gluten free and I would say that they have one of the better gluten free menus in town. She was very satisfied with her sandwich and salad. Overall I would say it is a very good lunch spot.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the entire evening.Loved the entire evening. I do think the room is too loud and wish it were quieter.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMYum.We loved that the restaurant let us pick a complimentary item off a special menu because we were celebrating our anniversary. The bread pudding was to die for, the oysters were fresh and delicious, the clams and fry appetizer was delectable and the salad dressing was homemade and amazing. My only complaint would be my buffalo dish. It was a little tough and the veggies were drenched in butter. Overall, it was a great meal.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
