Nestled on the southwest corner of the Courthouse Square, the three-story brick building that houses Cotton Row Restaurant was built in 1821 along the cotton exchange.

A vision for comfort, elegance and modern American cuisine is how the story of Cotton Row Restaurant began. We are inspired by the enduring passion of the cotton traders who once worked in downtown Huntsville, and invite you to experience our southern hospitality.Continued

  • "Celebrated son's 21st birthday in the wine cellar. Wonderful food and wine. Service was excellent."

  • "My wife and I were out for a date at Cotton Row on the 3rd of July. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks which came with our appetizer at same time. My wife's halibut had the consistency of a fish stick and side order was wrong. Many around is were not pleased with time waiting to be served and drinks. Once the bartender lost her customers suddenly the drinks came on time. Bottom line. A great place but on this night didn't have enough servers and the food was adequate at best. It ruined our date night. Be along time before we come back"

  • "This was my 5th visit to Cotton Row and the food is always consistently good. I've never had a bad meal. A lt's good value on higher end restaurants. Steak, fish, salads always great. I had a great filet cooked perfect medium rare and I'm not easy to please when it comes to my steaks. I do miss the Duroc pork shank, it should be back on the menu."

  • "Amazing, delicious food! Everything was so fresh and the pairings on the menu are perfect. The free range chicken was the best I've had anywhere. The salad, dessert, rolls- all so, so good. The service was truly outstanding, always nearby if you need something but not intrusive. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "A great location, and attentive staff, with an interesting menu, but about twice the price of comparable restaurant. The food was well prepared, but somewhat small portions. $100 for one salad, two entrees, and two waters (Pelligrino and something that tasted like filtered tap water)."

  • "The CEO of our company wanted to introduce me to Cotton Row and I'm glad he did. I enjoyed all aspects of our evening - atmosphere, food, wine, after dinner drinks - all were excellent and made for a very enjoyable experience."

  • "We had an awesome experience at Cotton Row. It was our first time there although we'd thought about going for a while. The waiter (Chris) was awesome... very knowledgeable and attentive. He went out of his way to make the evening wonderful with a couple nice surprises thrown in as well. We'll definitely be going back."

  • "I have been to French restaurants and their servings are more than cotton raw. Very disappointed. We had lobster special and three small pieces of lobster for $36. Had ordered appetizer and desert but came home hungry. Ambience is good but chef needs to improve the taste and quantity."

  • "My wife and Zi had a great evening at Cotton Row. The entire staff was very attentive starting several days before our arrival with emails and finally a call on the day of our reservation. Food and beverages were fantastic. The manager and our waiter responsive to our requests. It was a great evening."

  • "First timers. Food was fantastic but the table by the safe was awful. I felt like we were outcasts. We would definitely go back but would not accept sitting at that table."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Cotton Row and it did not disappoint; from the complimentary valet parking to the cozy atmosphere, just right service and wonderful food. We usually don't order a steak at anything other than a steakhouse, but we were both in the mood for a steak and decided we would give Cotton Row a chance. We were glad we did. The filets were perfectly prepared (both a nice juicy medium) and they were delicious. The Lyonnaise potatoes and asparagus were the perfect complement."

  • "What a great restaurant! The food was great and and very flavorful and the fish so fresh. This place would rate well in any large city in the USA so its a real treat to be able to find such a place in a small city. We are here on business quite often and this will be a regular place for us."

  • "This is a wonderful restaurant all the way around. When we travel we look for the best restaurant in the area and we found it at Cotton Row. Outstanding food and service. Very creative menu. The next time we are in Huntsville we will go back to this restaurant"

  • "30th anniversary celebration with my wife. Great menu, creative items. The fried green tomatoes have a sauce that has some real kick - great with starting cocktails. SUPER ahi tuna starter, pan seared scallops served in a salsa of black-eyed peas and sweet whole kernel corn. Very unique and very tasty. My wife had a salmon dish that was excellent. Creme brulee desert for her, a dark chocolate hazelnut crunch cake for me - perfect ending to a very good meal. Seating is a little cramped in the dining room on the entry level floor and the servers enter and exit the patio between two tables, one of which was ours. A bit annoying and nullifies the air conditioning at that table. Avoid these tables if possible. Otherwise, can't go wrong here."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Cotton Row recently. It was our first time dining there and it was excellent. Our server was great, the food was delicious and the ambience was nice. We were seated in an area where the tables were spaced very closely together, but once we got used to that, it was fine. Great place for a nice night out. We're going again soon."

  • "Everything was very good, as always. This would be a routine for us if the price was lower. As it is, it is a great special occasion spot."

  • "I entertained business associates and was very impressed with the food, service and overall presentation. We were in Huntsville from out of town and I had found the restaurant on the web which can often be hit or miss. I was so happy that we ended up with such a fantastic evening."

  • "We eat here whenever we are in Huntsville. The food is REALLY good. You pay for it but it is always a lovely evening. Wish we hadn't been seated adjacent to the bar as it was distracting but aside from that it was a great evening."

  • "We tried here again after a long hiatus due to habitual slow service. After promising I wouldn't complain , we made a reservation for the patio because it was such a nice night. Things didn't start out well at all, as after almost half an hour, we still only had water and menu drop-off by our server. When she finally returned, I made it clear that we were more than ready to order and very hungry (it was close to 8pm)!! After that, things went better. We enjoyed the wine she suggested, got some nice rolls and placed dinner orders. We both had fresh fish, 2 different kinds, and were very satisfied...delicious! The seafood chowder and grilled salad were great starts to share. All in all, a very nice experience. Desserts are awesome, too."

  • "Excellent service & delicious food. Everything was top notch. We ordered the fried green tomatoes & seared ahi tuna as appetizers. They came out split on a plate for each of us. Then we ordered the diver sea scallops and short ribs over anison mills grits. Scallops cooked to prefection. The short ribs fork tender & tasty. I dont eat grits but these I can eat all day. For dessert we had the PB&J phyllo can we say wow! Rachael our server was outstanding very friendly! Great food great southern hospitality! "

  • "We went here this last Saturday night. Our server was FANTASTIC!!! The restaurant is so eloquent and beautiful, you'd think it would be intimidating - but our server made the visit! The food was exquisite and beautifully displayed. It was fresh, and everything we order was unlike anything we have had before, and we go out to dinner a lot! We had a dessert to go and the server even explained to us how to prepare it. You're paying for EXACTLY. WHAT. YOU. GET. Which is PERFECTION. It is truly an experience that should be turned into an event... you could spend an entire evening in there. Just ask for Scott! :)"

  • "It was a great Dinning experience! The bar while awaiting our table was a perfect spot as well as the complimentary valet was key; the dine and stroll event on Thursday was interesting and added to the pre-mode."

  • "My wife and I have been to Cotton Row many times and we wanted an enjoyable lunch with our daughter on Mother's Day. Cotton Row did not disappoint with the wall of windows open, to enjoy the beautiful day outside, and some of the best food one can find anywhere."

  • "We had another great dining experience at Cotton Row... the Cobio was outstanding! The service is superb and the menu reflects fresh choices for the season. Cotton Row is consistently outstanding and a place we look forward to return to again and again. "

  • "One of my favorite restaurants. Excellent menu, great atmosphere, superb service, well-priced for the quality, and conveniently down town. The chef is imaginative, innovative, and at the top of the charts. I have found them to be consistently excellent, regardless of the time of day."

  • "We always choose Cotton Row for special occasions as I think it is a special place to dine in Huntsville! The atmosphere is great and the service is even better. Have ordered the short ribs twice and would like to venture out on other dishes but find that I always come back to that dish!! "

  • "This was our first visit, great location, lively, but could hear each other! Really good food and service, the best we've had in Huntsville, will definitely return when in town again"

  • "I had lived in Huntsville for almost 5 years, always hearing about Cotton Row but never experiencing it for myself. When my sister from Atlanta came for a visit, it seemed like a great time to try it. Neither of us were disappointed, from the lovely table we got outside to the knowledgeable & efficient server to the delicious food. We split the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer (and appreciated the way that they had split this already onto different plates). She had the halibut & I had the ribs for dinner at the server's recommendation. Both were unique, good portion sizes and with complementary side dishes. The hazelnut cake & coffee were also delicious. Hope to be back!"

  • "Menu selection and quality of food is always very good to outstanding. The Red Snapper is a fine dish. The wait staff service needs much improvement. Dirty plates remained on the table way too long, numerous staff members walked past our table as well as others without offering assistance. Water glass refills not timely, waitress would disappear for extended periods of time. Restaurant could be a solid 4-star if attention to detail was practiced. The table lamps were very dirty with heavy dust. Heavy dust accumulation on decorative items as well."

  • "It is an excellent fine dining restaurant. We rarely have the opportunity to dine here and go on very special occasions. The food is amazing. Anyone looking for a great fine dining experience should patronize cotton row. My only criticism is that I don't think they have the creative variety that I've enjoyed at other fine dining establishments. None of which are in Huntsville. When I go to one of these places a second and subsequent visit I hope to see new menu items or creative specials. No creative entres during this visit. Tho they did have creative salads."

  • "Dined there for first time with cousin celebrating birthday. Expectations were high because of pricy menu but the food and ambience did not disappoint. Melon salad app and fried green tomatoes app were large portions and delicious; risotto was nicely all dents but could have been creamier. Salmon, halibut, and scallops nicely prepared. Surprise birthday mousse was a nice touch. Only complaint was service which although prompt could have been slightly more professional; waiter was a little glib and bus staff reaching across table. After ordering a glass of California pinot noir for my salmon waiter gloated that it was better than those "watery ones from Oregon" that I appreciate and that the halibut was fine; he didn't need to ask."
