Food very, very good. Cocktails good (innovative when Stolli Vanilla was not in stock), and made it work. But the seating was unfortunate. Full house inside, too cold for patio. Seating near the curtain separating the matri di, not good. Cotton Row at its best when patio is used and warm enough.

We went with great expectation and we were sadly disappointed. I had a salad with the most overcooked fried oysters that I have ever eaten! The salad greens were very limp and had entirely too much dressing. My guest had a pork dish which he said was good. We had ice cream for dessert and the chocolate was divine.

Cotton Row would have been a great experience except there was a negative response from the waitress when we complained that the oyster's Rockefeller had no flavor. She said she would inform the chef, but there was no other comment, apology, or compensation made. The subject was not brought up again. At least they should have taken them off our check. They were the worst oysters Rockefeller I have ever eaten. I eat them frequently in other places and know good oysters. That incident changed the attitude of the workers when they passed our table for the rest of the meal. The Hostess was asking each table how their meal was but never approached our table. It was insulting. When there is a problem it should be fixed and then move on.

We've been to cotton row at least 10 times and the last 3 or 4 have been sub standard. 50/50 chance of a properly cooked steak lately. I can get that at outback for half the price. Very disappointing

Biggest challenge this restaurant continues to face is lack of consistency; sometimes very good and sometimes not so good, one never knows. It seems that no one is minding the store on some days.

My husband and I were surprised by my sister, who made our reservation and babysat our two small children. The staff was beyond amazing and redefined customer service. They brought us champagne compliments of the house for having a much needed night out. The food was phenomenal and I strongly suggest the the salmon as it was amazing.

Had been really looking forward to this neighborhood gem, located on the corner of our downtown square. Quite a quaint location. However, for the price (quite pricey), service was disappointing. We had to ask for bread and were given one pat of butter for a table of 3. Used plates and glasses were never removed until we asked the passing waiter to clear some space on our small table. Food was good, though very expensive for the level of service provided. We expect this is probably the most expensive placee in town and would like to see the service match the price.

Had dinner at Cotton Row Friday evening. Weather was perfect, so we sat outside. Service was good, no issues at all. Food was good, but not spectacular. I had the salmon, and it was good, but not noteworthy. My wife had the Filet Mignon. It was cooked perfectly, and had good texture, but again, not a wow dish. To be clear, the food was good, just not what we've come to expect from this restaurant. Normally, I have no issue with the cost of a meal here, as the food as always excellent. This meal was just average, and not worth the premium price. The one item that did impress was the starter we shared - the seared Hawaiian Ahi Tuna - it was excellent. So, although the meal was good, we've had better meals for $40 less (Bonefish for example).

Cotton Row is top-notch restaurant. We are well-traveled foodies, having lived in Europe. This was our first time at Cotton Row. We wanted a special experience for my wife's birthday. We were very pleased. There was one item which surprised us and is one of those "touches" that really marks a great restaurant. Cotton Row serves a foie gras from a notable area, the Hudson Valley. There should be one or two items on the wine list that are there specifically to go with the foie gras, typically served in a smaller dessert wine glass. No such item was available. If they had a serving of foie gras with such a well matched wine, especially a larger portion, we would have gladly paid a higher price. It is a special item for a special time.

Cotton Row is one of the finest, friendliest places to dine in the area. The staff is so "on point" and intuitive, that when a simple passing statement in a conversation mentioned a birthday during our initial meeting of our server , a fabulous fit for a gourmet magazine photo shoot presentation selection appeared when the birthday boy ordered dessert. It was one of the most elegant surprises I have witnessed. Complete with lit candle. (How did you know blue was his favorite color?) As always, the food is angelic in deliciousness. Chef creates magic for your palate. Your taste buds become lonesome for the last experiences and must return. We will be back soon.

This was my 6th time to dine here while visiting. It's always been exceptional food. This time something went terribly wrong. Oyster Fritters sounded interesting to share. They were simply fried oysters. Nothing special but okay. But the entrée was a real problem. I discussed the preparation of pan-sautéed fish, saying that I preferred a very lightly cooked fish and would choose based on the attitude of the kitchen. The waitress assured me that the chef could and would accommodate, and would err on the side of "rare". However, it was served "crunchy" and obviously overdone. Perfunctory apologies from the waitress and no effort to make it right by the kitchen. All in all, not a very good dining experience.

We went to Cotton Row to celebrate my wife's birthday and she was overwhelmed by the atmosphere, the service and especially the food. I will say up front the service was very good. The food however was disappointing, as was the fact that they only had 3 beers available and none were locally brewed. My wife ordered a salad and the scallops. She said the salad was good but really could not taste the dressing. She said her scallops entree' was very good. I ordered the southern seafood chowder and filet mignon. The chowder was supposed to have shrimp, clams, and red snapper. There were no shrimp or clams in my bowl and the snapper had the texture of pork, chewy. My filet mignon was tough even though it was cooked a perfect medium rare. Honestly, it was the toughest filet I have had in my life. Our bill was $200 with tip.

My husband and I went there for our 9 year anniversary. We aren't generally accustomed to that kind of atmosphere. The waitstaff was very polite and attentive. I had the Alaskan seared halibut. It was very flavorful, especially the mushrooms and mashed potatoes. My husband had the special South Carolina pheasant which was to die for. If that's on special, I highly recommend getting that. As wonderful as it was, it's definitely not an everyday restaurant for us since we would break ourselves. It was worth every penny though.

This has become quite the place to be! It was our third visit. The food, wine and service was all excellent. However, the management decided to open the glass walls on this evening. It was an evening in July, very warm. If we had chosen to sit outside, the weather would have been our choice. We chose to be inside and it was uncomfortably warm. This would be a great idea for a spring or fall evening, not July.

The tables are very close together so privacy is not existence. If your only 2 people the table can barley fit the food. They tried to give us a table right in front of the front door. If you sat hear you would be constantly interrupted. Also the fish was over cooked but they did offer free desert.

From local salads to Alaskan Salmon and Halibut with unique sauces to complement the taste and texture of the fish to very unique deserts, you'll find a mouthwatering delight to suite your tastes. A splash of French Pressed Coffee rounded out the evening. Though the price was higher that anticipated, the unique downtown atmosphere and the knowledgeable table servers made for a memorable evening event.

The staff that waited on us at Cotton Row each made it a point to tell me Happy Birthday. The food was fantastic! We ordered the Grilled Romaine and Oyster Fritters to share before our entrees. Both were excellent. I had the Halibut and my husband had the Duck. The halibut was cooked perfectly and the truffle mashed potatoes were to die for. My husband enjoyed the duck as well. We split the PB&J dessert, it was so unique. The chef actually invented the dessert at a group function when he forgot his dessert ingredients at the restaurant and had to use what was in the pantry at the facility. This is a must in Huntsville! We will definitely be back.

The short ribs were excellent, but the smoked duck was not up to that standard. The duck was overcooked, but the fat wasn't properly rendered, and the chef's choice of sides didn't work very well. The service was excellent, except we had an unusually long interval before our dessert was served. The staff seemed properly trained, but some of them didn't seem quite confident in their roles. The noise level was a bit high for our tastes, and even though there were plenty of tables when we arrived, we were seated next to the door to the kitchen; there should have at least been a partition between the door and our table.
