We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. The service was attentive, but not overbearing, our server was knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to help us understand the dishes. The restaurant was packed. There was a 4 top open, but we had to wait until a 2 became available. Wasn't seated until 9:20. I understand that you need to hold out, but it was a little strange. It was a nice change from loud/hectic scene from Cuban Pete's across the street. My boyfriend and I went there on Thursday night with reservations. I did not like our seating so much since it was at the back right next to the server door entry. There was a huge group party the night we went - maybe this was the reason. There was 1 open table for 4 people, yet we were put at the back. Yet, 15 minutes later a couple sat on that table.

The food is fantastic and definitely reminds me of my trip to Peru because some of the same dishes are on the menu (so pretty authentic). The atmosphere is dim, comfortable and a bit creative with the wood logs cut cross width on the wall. The vibe could go either romantic or friendly. The Quinoa Crusted Oyster Po boy Sliders were great as was the humble Salchipapa that our kids ate with gusto.

Everything we tried was outstanding - including desserts! Our waiter helped guide us on ordering and he was fantastic. He was fantastic and present as we needed him theough the night. Very interesting decor and food choices, and -- even though this was my second visit and I came because of the great food -- we found the food unexpectedly exceptional.
Service was the only unimpressive aspect. Seemed like they were running short-staffed. It took too long to get attention, then they were abrupt when taking orders, and then it took too long for the food to start arriving. Although the food turned-out to be worth the wait.
Despite how good it is, though, prices are high. $200 before tip for 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 3 desserts, and 2 coffees (BYOB).
