  • "I am from Spain and I can definitely recommend this restaurant. The maitre d'or is very friendly and the food is outstanding!"

  • "Friendly greeting from hostess. Waiter attentive but not overly so. Food especially snapper was quite delicious, only exception being slightly off- tasting grilled octopus starter. Would eat there again and with no hesitation to recommend to friends."

  • "Costa Brava is away from the hustle of Houston in Bellaire, The small, intimate restaurant offers charm and ambience with its' French and Spanish cuisine. The aromas fill the room. The staff is professional, friendly, and knows their food. You will not be disappointed."

  • "Never disappoints. Truly one if Houston's best. We have eaten here many times and the food and service are always flawless."

  • "My friend and I had a very leisurely lunch with fabulous food and service to match. We were catching up and our servers never rushed us or were intrusive. It is rare to find such a lunch dining experience in Houston. One usually has to fight crowds and business noise. We thoroughly enjoyed Costa Brava and have made plans to return with our spouses for a double date."

  • "This was my 4th visit to Costa Brava and I would eat there every day if I could. I like to bring friends here for special occasions. The prix fixe lunch is reasonably priced and the food is outstanding. The service was attentive, polite and not intrusive. We got there on the late side, considering they close at 2:30, yet did not feel at all rushed. Looking forward to my next visit!"

  • "We started with a salami plate and mussels. The mussels come with a side French Fries. Mussels were alright but the french fries were outstanding. Best fries ever. Our main dishes were boneless quails, duck breast and paella. The birds ruled and they were very, very good. We ended our dinner with the Apple tart desset and it was excellent. Our wait staff was very friendly. We had a blast."

  • "I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this restaurant! I generally rate a restaurant based on the overall dining experience. This includes food, service and ambience. While the food was not bad, the service and attitude were truly the WORST I have ever experienced! We were 15 min late for our reservation and were rudely informed that we would now have to be placed at the end of the walk-in list. The hostess ignored our explanations and the fact that we had repeatedly attempted to let them know we were running late only to be answered by a voice message. Our service was not much better when we were seated after waiting well over an hour. We had to wait 30-40 min for someone even to take our order. The food was nice, but nothing memorable."

  • "With kids at summer camp, we finally had time for dinner with another couple. We wanted a great restaurant that was comfortable with good food. We all loved our dinners and had a really nice evening."

  • "Visited for my birthday with my boyfriend and we loved this place. It was a slow Monday night and they were thinking about closing early but they noticed we had a reservation and remained open for us. I loved that! The food was amazing and the service was GREAT! We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Just recently came back from Spain, the food at this Spanish restaurant was very good quality however the Serrano ham which is dry cured was slightly dehydrated (probably refrigerated). The lamb was excellent. We chose A Palacios Les Terrases a good red for the price. Overall we where very positively impressed. We definitely will come back."

  • "From the greeting at the door to the selection of wine and entrees, to the friendly service to the superb tasting meal one cannot ask for more for this 2-yr old restaurant........Imagine the next 50 yrs......Wow!!"

  • "Costa brava is authentic Spanish food that delivers consistent quality food."

  • "great location - just minutes away from the Galleria but miles away in terms of crowds and quality of food. the garlic shrimp small plate is delish! and the shrimp and scallops with risotto is divine. bread is amazing. we had a bottle of cremant de rose - sparkling pink...it was wonderful. ambience is warm and spohisticated, even though the location might not lead you in that direction - it is in a strip-like mall."

  • "Food was very good to excellent. I ordered snapper and told server that on previous visit I also ordered snapper and it was so over seasoned with pepper to the point I could not eat it, so this time I emphasized to server NO SEASONING!.. Same thing as before-very over peppered. Chef must like pepper, server didn't communicate or chef forgot??? At any rate, a very good piece of fresh fish needs very little (if any) seasonings. I spoke with co-owner Angeles about it and she very graciously removed the charge for the fish. We will be back in future but I think I will avoid the fish."

  • "Cannot recommend this lovely place enough - it has it all. Must make reservation though as they are always busy!"

  • "Costa Brava combines all the necessary attributes needed to offer outstanding meals. The Foigras was perfectly seared and my wife's lobster/crab salad to die for. Her chicken breast was juicy and fully cooked, my Lemon risotto with scallops and shrimp was perfect. They don't try to over feed you with volume, rather they overwhelm you with flavor."

  • "We came to Houston for a fun weekend. I did a great deal of research on where to eat. We we drove up and I saw it was in a strip mall, I thought "oh no." I couldn't have been more wrong. We were greeted by the owner as if we were regular customers. Seated quickly and then the food came. Oh my. I am so surprised we could get a reservation. This is a wonderful food experience. I had the paella. I am usually very disappointed in the Paella, but not this time. It was fabulous, a recipe from the Owner's grandfather from Madrid. My husband ordered the lamb chops and they was just as good. Seems this is an undiscovered gem. Next time we are in Houston, this will be our first choice."

  • "My husband and I went for a romantic date night. I ordered the paella and my husband ordered the pork. Both were delicious as was our salad with goat cheese. I plan on returning because there were lots more on the menu that I would love to try. The restaurant staff was very attentive and friendly."

  • "My young adult children and I had a delicious dinner to celebrate a special occasion. The service was good BUT staff made us feel very rushed. Our check was delivered when we were just about to start our dessert, almost to say they wanted us to leave soon so that they can sit the other people who were waiting outside. And this happened before the hour. And there were other parties who had been there longer than we did. The food was outstanding but overall, there are better places with much better service at comparable prices. "

  • "I am a Spaniard and it is very difficult for me to find an "authentic" Spanish Restaurant. We finally found it! We went on Friday and got the two specials, Rabbit (yes rabbit!) and Halibut. Awesome!"

  • "A Spanish gem hidden in Bellaire. From Angeles's abrazzo at the door to the best bocquerones (anchovies) in town, Costa Brava takes you to a different place - in the heart of Bellaire. Service is attentive, friendly, and helpful in guiding you through dishes you don't see every day. Generous pours of good wines from Spain and around the world. A recent wine dinner (held about once a month) paired Spanish foods with French wines and insightful commentary on both. Come with a group or dine alone (not really alone) at the bar."

  • "After searching for years to find true Spanish cuisine in the Greater Houston Area, we have landed at the Costa Brava and have, at last, discovered the authentic cuisine. Paella that is truly Paella. The most tender and tasty Pulpo Gallego that I have tasted since having lived in Spain for two years. Every item on the menu is one that we wish to eventually try... If you love true Spanish cuisine, then this is your place! The owner is originally from Madrid and she knows what she is doing with the food and wine."

  • "We had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. My daughter took me and her mom. The food was incredible for the location. The lamb, veal and filet were great. Only draw back we had were the fries that came with the mussels, should be fresh cut or left off completely. As for the desserts, I guess after such a fabulous meal, I expected more. Other than that.............."

  • "The four diners in our party each ordered a different entree & each was outstanding. The quiet atmosphere was great for visiting. The bread pudding was our favorite dessert."

  • "Ever since the first visit everyone I've taken there has loved the place, the ambiance, the food. If you love garlic this is heaven. The shrimp with garlic oil is fantastic, as well as the mussels with wine and leeks, and a friend had grilled octupus which they said was delicious. I will definately be going back - there are so many things to try."

  • "Great new favorite of ours. First of all, Angeles is a doll and was eager to please us with great service and conversation. There seems to be nothing on the menu that's average. Impeccable presentation and ambiance. Wonderful rioja with dinner and outstanding cuarenta y tres con espresso after dinner. Do not miss the lamb chops, mussels, or paella. My mouth is still watering. Simply put; G O......N O W !"
