Cosmos at Graves 601 HotelFantastic Anniversary DinnerWe booked a reservation at Cosmos to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It's one of the best dining experiences I've ever had downtown. The setting was luxurious and chic; the food was absolutely amazing. It was slow for a Saturday night (several empty tables around us at 7pm) and the chef kept sending out fun little bites to the tables. The meal was a work of art and the cocktails were spot-on. We will be going back again. This restaurant might be in a hotel, but it is NOT a hotel restaurant. The Tuna Tartare is out of this world! We will be keeping this gem for many return trips.

The food was beautiful and delicious. The only issue was that in the beginning our waiter didn't communicate that we could go up and get food at any time, so we sat awkwardly for a bit, but after one if us got up and asked questions we recovered. It was moderately busy when we arrived, but got busier while we were there. Although it was nearly full, the volume in the restaruant was such that you could still have a pleasant conversation. The buffet itself was pretty typical - omelet station, breakfast items and pastries, salads and fruit, pasta, chicken, asparagus, shrimp, smoked salmon, desserts. At $45.00 per person it was one of the more expensive buffets in town, but the carved filet mignon might have made it worth the money. We get to the rstaurant and there was no one at the host desk. We had to go to the bar to track him down. My guest and I were in no hurry so we were patient. Service was slow but I don't mind it as long as food is great. I could see how other impatient customers would not tolerate the slow service. Amazing that in a land-locked city which was probably the coldest place in America at the time, they can bring in the best and freshest ingredients. Make sure you pair wines as well since the team knows how to do so.
