Extensive wine list. Ice cold beers on tap. Hand crafted cocktails. Dim lighting and superior sound system makes Panevino great for date night, or every night! Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Good for small groups 5-6 . Not a large place but they have a nice menu and it was all really good. wine was reasonably priced. The cocktails looked fun ,but everyone in our party had wine."

  • "I use to love this restaurant, my husband and I would go here for special occassions or just when we were in the mood for quality Italian food. This restaurant has a change in mgmt or in the kitchen with the chef, because the meals we come to love and order everytime we go were awful. The gnocci was doughy, bread was not fresh and appetizers were small for the price. I will never return."

  • "I have been coming to Panevino since this place opened on the hill some time ago, it USED to be such a great little spot, It is not the case anymore, I hear they are under new ownership and if the new guy doesnt get his staff in line QUICK, its gonna be closed soon! Servers wearing yoga pants, not washing hands, touching face, hair and body and then returning to service. Raviolli was from a bag, not fresh, server - when he did come over to the table was uninformed of his products, Servers were on phones texting rather than being attentive. However, the one gem i love about the service was their S/A - She was a true stealth plane, quiet and unobtrusive, but when questioned about anything, knew her job, her products and had all the answers."

  • "On Capitol Hill - you can't go wrong with Panevino! It's excellent...especially the pastas! Magnifico!"

  • "I'm not overly fond of Italian food. It wasn't my pick to go there however, I found some great menu options at decent prices, friendly service and good drinks."

  • "I have been here a few times. Happy Hour is a good deal and then tried it out during Seattle Restaurant week and have enjoyed all the food and wine. When i went for Restaurant Week, it was a bit loud and hard to have a conversation with my date. The happy hours though have been good, since it was earlier not as packed and was quieter. Overall a goo find on the hill and i would go back."

  • "Timing of meal was horrible lack of service and surprised as last time we were in last Fall it was amazing."

  • "It was very good, I loved the food, solid Valentine's Day spot. There was really nothing to complain about except its a little small, but honestly, I didn't mind."

  • "Went there on Valentines day. They had a special/fixed 3 course menu and were not serving food from their regular menu. Good: 1. The food for decent, I won't say it was awesome. 2. The dining room was lively. 3. Live music. Bad: 1. Service was pathetic: It was Valentines day & I think they were overwhelmed. They served us bread and no one came up with plates, when we asked for a plate we were told that they serve appetizer quickly so they don't give plates, seriously?? No one bothered to look at us when we wanted something. The cleaning guy came up with entree while we were eating appetizer and picked it up. We had to ask him to leave it. It made us feel as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. 2. Limited choice of food."

  • "The prix fixed menu was a surprise on Valentines Day & it looked delicious but the execution was poor. The items lacked flavor & panache. I would like to give them another chance on a non-holiday but for this event I cannot recommend yhis restsurant"

  • "Menu was creative, but execution and flavor development left me wishing I had made a different choice. Portion sizes are very generous, too bad I wasn't looking forward to experiencing this meal again. Nice drink list, but here again, I was let down after the first sip. Wasn't really bad, but for the price, My expectations were higher. We had drinks, bread, appetizers, main courses, and desserts."

  • "Start to finish, underwhelming. Here are the main points: The hostess kept telling everyone "5 minutes" when it was over 20 (we had a reservation), the menu was a fixed menu with no standard menu options available, they were out of 1/3 of the choices, the pasta was average but not great. If you want great service and amazing fresh-made Italian food, go to Tavolata instead."

  • "The food, wine and feel of the restaurant was excellent. The only issue we had was that they did not help us split the check for a group of 10+, this upset a few people within our group. If our group had been smaller it would have been perfection."

  • "It was a busy Friday and the service showed. It took 30 mins before we were able to wrangle someone to take drink orders and get some bread. The place was packed and boisterous. The food was great. The trick was finding someone to take our orders and check in with us - as soon as orders were put in, the food showed up promptly. The staff was gregarious - in an Italian/American way. I was able to get our server to throw in dessert for free, given the very spotty, poor service. Prices are decent. Portion sizes are good. Panevino is a good - not great - restaurant. It's worth noting that all the desserts are handmade, on site. We would definitely go back - probably at a slower time. For non-pretentious Italian, this place is worth a go."

  • "I had a wonderful dinner at Panevino this past Friday night, February 8, 2014. The staff warmely welcomed me and sat our party right away. The waiter was very helpful and attentive. Enjoyed the busser too- he brought my left behind cell phone outside as I was leaving the restaurant. Good place!"

  • "Once again, Panevino shined during a night out with friends. They were able to accommodate our group well. Our waiter was hilarious and always on top of things. He was able to stop and discuss futball and wine with the same knowledge. Our food was quick and delicious. Can't rave enough about this place. Only two complaints, one is the noise level. As it is a small establishment, it can be hard to hear people once the restaurant gets packed and two was the bench. I had injured my back earlier at the gym and the wooden bench seating along the wall is not comfortable at all. Try to stick with a chair if possible :)"

  • "If you like amazing cioppino, fresh pasta, and true italian flavors, this is your spot! We recently went with a group of 4; every person loved their dish. They serve small versions at happy hour- oh yes, happy hour cioppino. Try it, you won't be disappointed!"

  • "Cesar salad was too garlically. Entries took forever to arrive and were not hot when they did, sent them back. Again took forever to arrive back; they were hot but flavorless. Waiter was unapologetic and overall service was inadequate. Will never return."

  • "This restaurant is amazing. The food is the best italian in Seattle I guess. The restaurant is not too big and it is totally casual. But after the first minute you get in you feel the exotic atmosphere of the waiters and the food. Love here!!"

  • "This was the first time I had been to this restaurant but was very satisfied by the time my group and I left- great wine selection, delicious food, and very friendly service who made multiple favorable recommendations!"

  • "Usually, food and service are good, but not this time. Lamb chop was really good but my pasta was over cooked (probably waited for my partner's meal). Also, the bartender laughs really roundly with his costomer. If guests are noisy, the, I understand. Its not easy to control, but employer needs consideration"

  • "We love the authentic Italian cuisine and the suggested paired wines at Panevino . Francesco Angiuli, owner, is a passionate & knowledgeable restauranteur who is enthusiastic to share traditional & new dishes. The Happy Hour menu offers delicious small plates not offered on the regular menu--you've GOT to try their meatballs! My favorite is the scallops on linguini (when available). Another favorite is the POLLO ALLA PARMIGIANA."

  • "Way too noisy and loud. I felt like I was screaming to speak with my date. Nonetheless, great food and service."

  • "We had a group of 7 dining and everyone left satisfied. The manager & wait staff were very attentive and helpful, especially in deciding on a wine - also very knowledgeable and accommodating of special requests."

  • "Great food, excellent pasta, ceasar salad, and cocktails, Attentive service. But the place is kind of noisy for our taste, even though we were sitting in the corner. Still, we would definitely return."

  • "I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless of course you like overpriced pasta and sauce from a jar. The waiter was not friendly or helpful and couldn't be bothered for recommendations."
    Dined on 9/10/2013
  • "Appetizers were all good but all of the entree dishes were either overcooked and tough to eat or incredibly bland. Service was very slow as well even for a weekday dinner service. Definitely avoid the fish entree dishes (rockfish and salmon). The pasta dishes are mediocre."
