A word from Coromandel Indian Bistro
Fans of this "distinctive" Indian chain sing "Jai Ho!" over its "amazing", "aromatic" cuisine, including a "sensational lunch buffet" that's a "steal", as well as "courteous", "helpful" servers who are "always willing to educate" diners about the "authentic" menu that "traverses all of India's regions" - ZAGAT

Chose Coromandel just by chance. What good luck! Great food, lots of it and not just the standard Indian options. Our waiter George was so attentive. We'll be back.

Great food, Great staff. George was our waiter, and made the experience great for us. We had two newbies to Indian Food, and they couldn't have been more satisfied with the food that was recommended to us.

It had a great dinner here with my friend on his birthday. I love Indian Cuisine so I really liked that the manager/owner ordered for us. I tried some great new dishes! They run a coupon weekly in a local flyer. If you clip it and present it, make sure they take it off your bill :) I will definitely go back.

Coromandel does an impeccable job of serving traditional, delicious Indian dishes that are sure to impress a wide range from the adventurous to the pickiest of eaters. The South Norwalk location has won a special place in my "go-to" restaurant list for the great service and wonderful staff we encounter every time we patronize it. If you enjoy white wines, make sure to try the Indian "Sula"- it is crisp, refreshing and a perfect accompaniment to the many spicy dishes that the manager, Gopi and his team gladly serve up for you.

Very quiet night. We got there just before they were closing. They wanted to go home and you could tell. They didn't shy away from that fact. With thy said, the food was superb and hit the spot. We will visit again only a little earlier in the evening.

Great Indian food! Love going to Coromandel, as we are now regulars. Service is very good. The restaurant is really nice as well. I live in SoNo and it's an easy walk over to Coromandel, especially for good food. My favorite has to be their masala dosa...yumm!

Food was very good...service very lacking. We ordered a second drink that never arrived..our waiter never returned to see that we needed more water or to ask if things were ok...it took too long to bring out the appetizers....we left unsure we would return due to the service and despite the good food.....this was not our first visit here..and we have dined at the one in New Rochelle...this visit was quite disappointing.

Ate off the menu during buffet lunch. Food was good, balanced spices, and we had a delicious margarita made with curry. Not too busy at lunch, so quiet and we could hear ourselves think.

  • I actually LOVE this restaurant

I actually LOVE this restaurant and any other time I probably would have written a stellar review. Unfortunately, the experience my group had this time was not good. The entire meal took four hours. Although we had a reservation (for which we did arrive 15 minutes late) we had to wait 45 minutes for a table (although we were repeatedly told it would be just a few minutes). When we were seates the service was impossibly slow. Our appetizers took another 45 minutes to arrive from the kitchen although the entrees followed with less delay. The food was at its usual high level but I think little was done to compensate this regular customer for the poor performance of service. I WILL go to this restaurant again and give it another try.
