Diner Reviews
  • "This was a great find for my group at last minute. They have a room in back with 3 tables for 6-8 each which was nice. The decorations are fun if not a little creepy haunted house feel (chandeliers specifically). Dinner was well received by all. Would look there again for special occasions."

  • "The service, food, drinks and environment were great! They really know how to smoke their chicken. The brussel sprouts and kale risotto were delicious. They also have a great drink menu. I enjoyed the Virtue and Vice, my husband enjoyed their microbrews. The manager was doing a great job greeting people and the staff is very knowledgable about the food being served. Love it!"

  • "This was our 2nd time dining at Corner Tavern - both times, the food was so good I had to speak with the Chef/manager. This restaurant is on par with the best restaurants in SF. The food is sophisticated but fresh. Menu is inspired by the best finds in the local farmer;s markets. The food should be savored, and appreciated. This restaurant is so far and above anything else going on in Walnut Creek, it's a delight!"

  • "We will not return to this restaurant due to the extreme noise level. We sat right next to each other but could barely talk. There is nothing in the decor that absorbs sound, so it's like an echo chamber with a high ceiling and walls of glass. It's a shame, because the food was quite good, very fresh, with some creative dishes. The wait staff was great too."

  • "with great food. The menu changes pretty often so there are a few hits and misses but that's what you want a chef to do-take some chances. The service is great some days, ok other days but I don't go to a restaurant and rate service unless I'm paying a premium for that. Frankly the food here is great so who cares! Go to play and have fun, and not for a romantic evening because the noise level is deafening. Although I love dining there, there is no better summer brunch place this side of the Napa Valley"

  • "Noise level is WAY to high. Hard to carry on a conversation. The building had the same issue when it was Bing Crosby's."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Location is at the former Bing Crosby's which was our favorite restaurant so it's great that another great restaurant has taken over the same spot. The open concept is so relaxing & topping it off with great service & good food. We would definitely return!"

  • "Went here for my Mom's going away party. Everyone likes it. My 12 year old son and my 75 year old mom and everyone in between. Great service. Love the decor. Outdoor seating in walnut creek is lovely. Tasty food. This place is great! Also, not too loud. But we did eat early. (Of course!)"

  • "We sat close to the big open windows on the sunny day. Tasty food & nice service."

  • "Great downtown restaurant with excellent food and a lively bar scene."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "Corners is a true find in Walnut Creek where you get good food and good service at a "normal" Walnut Creek price. Brussels sprouts appetizer was yummy as was the flounder. The bread is to die for and we ate too much. Wait staff were great and had good food advice and allowed some samples of both beer and wine. Only minor complaint.....they need black napkins for the huge number of customers wearing fashionable black pants..............we will be back!"
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Hostess and bartender were beyond rude. We were there for a special dinner and their arrogance really ruined the night for our whole table. Probably won't be going back anytime soon, if ever again."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "I've been 3 times and the food has been outstanding each time. Great cocktails too. And the service was both attentive and not rushed."

  • "So yummy. Had a wonderful lunch. All the recommendations from our server were spot on."

  • "This was our 5th time having dinner at Corners Tavern and have always had a great experience. The food has always been exceptionally and consistently great with enough menu changes periodically to keep us interested but keeping our favorites. We took a guest here for a birthday celebration and she was thrilled to see the menu with a happy birthday greeting and her name at the top of the menu!!! Nice touch!!"

  • "A nice high end bar and grill in Walnut Creek. Finally another restaurant that took over the same spot that use to be Bing Crosy's Restaurant, which has reasonable prices. It would be nice if they had valet parking, since parking can be a challenge in downtown Walnut Creek. The food and service was great. The ambience was prefect for this restaurant setting. We had the pork belly and cod with a Caesar salad and crab salad. Nice selections on the dessert, we had the carrot cake and donut holes."

  • "Husband and I went spur of the moment on a stormy Wednesday evening. The service was welcoming as always! The new lamb sausage appetizer is fantastic. We ordered the ale battered flounder and the scallop & pork belly entrees, both of which are consistently delicious. Love this place!"
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "Food is quite good, although would be nicer if the list/choice of entrees were expanded. Some at our table remarked "There are more appetizers than entrees". Yes, that is the case. If you aren't in the mood for the 5 or so entrees listed, well, hen I guess you choose 2 appetizers to enjoy!"
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "The food was prepared perfectly for a person with my petite appetite. Loved the brussel sprouts and lamb sausage appetizers."

  • "Three of us went to Corners a few weeks ago and sat at the bar for a late dinner and drinks. Capable bartender was unobtrusive but friendly and available and she handled unusual drink requests well, and the food service was great. Went back with three friends for dinner in the dining room, where the experience did not match up. Wait staff was disinterested, food service was okay, and we were seated right next to a large and very loud party despite the dining room being less than half full. Biggest frustration was the wine list included virtually nothing under $50 a bottle and obviously its a common frustration because the restaurant was out of the appealing lower end bottles. I'd go back to the bar, but not the dining room."

  • "We have been to this restaurant a number of times. Unfortunately, the food has not been quite as good lately. I ordered pork belly and it was very over cooked to the point of dryness. My husband's rib eye was ordered medium rare and came very medium - light pink in the center. On top of this the entree menu has hardly changed in the past year. I want to love this place. The atmosphere is great. The wait staff is great. The drink menu is fun. But they will need to step up the menu, add seasonal variety, and get their meats cooked properly for us to continue going there."

  • "The waitress mistakenly brought 2 of us the dinner menu instead of lunch. Crab was on the dinner menu. The chef made it for 3 of us & I wish he hadn't obliged. We needed a magnifying glass to see the world's smallest appetizer-3 little chunks of crab in mine (one friend got a little more) on a small piece of lettuce and another little piece of radiccio. To be fair, the waitress did say it was an "appetizer with 3 oz. of crab" (I'd like to calibrate their scale). For $16 they could have thrown in a little lettuce. It felt like such a rip off that I won't be in a hurry to go back. Also I didn't like the avocado creme that obscured the crab flavor, but that's a personal thing. The 4th in our group was happy with her Cobb salad."

  • "The ambiance, food, service and overall experience was exceptional. We'll be going back there - and will try out the bar, dinner experience. Highly recommended."

  • "Good food to share-- fun menu-- good wine list---for valentines day."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I could not find a restaurant for Valentine's Day despite half a dozen or more calls. However, when I went on Open Table, I found a good restaurant, nearby, and at a decent time--6:30 p.m. (everything else was after 9 p.m.) Thank you Open Table!"

  • "I booked a reservation for 2 on valentines day for 9:15pm. The place was packed when we got there, but they called our reservation exactly at 9:15. The server we had was soft spoken and had a heavy accent which made it hard for us to understand him during the whole course of the meal. The food itself was wonderful. The set-up was intimate and vibrant and youthful. It was a great place for a one-on-one dinner. It is on the pricey side, but totally worth it."

  • "One of the best pork chops I've ever had. Wonderful flavor. Loved the brussel sprouts too. We didn't like the crab salad, which has a smoky avocado cream that neither the menu nor server mentioned, and that's a flavor we dislike. Other than that, everything was wonderful."
    Dined on 2/13/2014
  • "The food and service was very good. For starters we had the brussel sprouts and chicken wings which were delicious. The main course was the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection. The prices were very reasonable. Would definitely return to Corners Tavern."

  • "Went here for the first time.It was excellent! We had several things. Rib eye steak, pork chop, salad.I can't wait to return.Already have another night planned. The only thing I'm having trouble with is trying to decide what I want to eat! Everything was so good so it's a hard decision.Would go back again and tell friends and family."

  • "Just when we thought "How is everything !! " was a rhetorical question, then we dined at Corners. Thanksgiving. They had some items from their regular menu along with holiday only dishes. My wife's first entree was too hard to chew comfortably. The waitress really asked and remained at the table to hear the answer. Almost immediately the manager came over and suggested another cut of meat . It was not only tender but also had a tasty wine sauce. My fish entree had an excellent herb sauce. Our entire experience was enjoyable. We thought the seating choices ( several styles of chairs) could be improved on. Strangely the very high ceilings and open plan settings still dissipated the noise."

  • "Great food and good service. The wine list is very very expensive. It is way over any other Walnut Creek restaurant. Other drinks were priced competitively."

  • "1st Trip - Sept. 2013 Great service, food & cocktails 2nd Trip - Feb 2014 Unimpressive service, food and cocktails Such a shame, we enjoyed our first trip so much, we looked forward to going back. However, the second trip was a complete bust. The wait staff completely forgot about us - it started simply with no bread to our table, continued with three excuses from our waiter why our appetizer hadn't arrived yet, my second cocktail was made different than the first (first = good, second = not) and then the food came and we were completely disappointed. The pork chop that we ordered last time was unrecognizable from the one we got last night. Overall - the food and drinks are too inconsistent to spend your money here."

  • "There's plenty of places around to get good food. There's also plenty of places with excellent service. For some reason it's rare to find both at the same spot. In this case we received wonderful food, AND superb service. The servers Brian and Alex were both relaxed, entertaining and attentive. And the food was amazing! We had appetizer, salad, mains and dessert and everything we tasted was awesome. Highly recommended!!"

  • "This evening was a gathering of 3 couples….all of us ladies had eaten here before, but our husbands had not. My husband and I were immediately seated, although the rest of our party had not yet arrived. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated in the private room in the back which contained 2 other tables (3 tables total) and a fireplace. We were the only group in the private room for 2 of our 2 1/2 hours. Our waiter was FANTASTIC….he didn't rush us at all! The food was fabulous - each one of us raved about our menu choices. Because we didn't sit in the main room of the restaurant, we did not have to endure the loudness of the restaurant - that would be my only criticism. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Enjoy :)"

  • "Employees and manager were great. Attentive and friendly, kept water filled. Didn't feel rushed at all! Like the ambiance, Menu offered a varied selection of food. Interesting combos. Presentation of food was creative. My smoked turkey Reuben was served on a round cutting board. Loved the vintage silverware."

  • "Food was very good. Other reviews said portions were too small, but food was very rich and didn't feel portions needed to be bigger. Service was just ok--cleared away appetizer while we were still eating our main course, and I didn't get a fork with my steak."

  • "Greeted promptly and door opened for us Seated immediately Our server was terrific and attentive female younger with long brown hair I enjoyed my Hendricks martini and the husband tried two of their beers Roasted brussel sprouts on appetizer menu was just perfect Dinner for us both was very good I had the bbque chicken (incredibly moist) And husband had the ale battered flounder"
