Diner Reviews
  • "We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. We had the pork belly, gnocchi, and two desserts. The sweet potatoe donuts are heavenly!"

  • "Our server was very helpful and clearly likes working at Corner Table. The food was outstanding. My wife and I ended up sharing our entrees and we now know we must come back to try more of the their food. The wine pairing suggestion was spot on. Treat yourself to nice meal at Corner Table. As a side note; as we were leaving we heard a voice from the kitchen thanking us for dining with them. A very nice touch! We'll be back."

  • "Nice spot in one of Minneapolis' many little neighborhoods. Corner Table is very small so an 8:30 rez is nice if you want to linger. And they have vegetarian options. Wine selections were good, the bibb salad with cheese panna cotta on top was fabulous. Entrees were all (5) terrific. Loved it. I did a little research to find it and our local guests were happy to find it."

  • "Extremely high quality ingredients and inventive preparations. We loved our meal from top to bottom. The 5-course tasting menu had great depth of flavor without being too heavy. Highly recommend."

  • "Chef's 5 course tasting menu was full of fresh flavors, textures, and surprises. Delicious!"

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed the food - we had the 5 course meal with wine. I always feel there could be more food, but my wife was filled up. I'm sure I'll always have this problem with fine dining... The only major negative for me was the restaurant was very small and there isn't a lot of room between tables. We were the first people there and they put us in the back corner - it was pretty tight. If we go here again I would like to try the table in the kitchen."

  • "This is a great spot for date night. All positive. Our waitress was very good but there were some long stretches between her visits. I think she was spread too thin."

  • "We choose the tasting menu with wine pairings which was perfect for us - we were tired and didn't want to think. But definitely will return and order form menu - so many interesting choices. Dining room noise level can be a little loud but we loved the energy."

  • "Excellent food and good service makes for a wonderful evening. We arrived early for our reservation on a very busy Friday evening but we were well taken care of and enjoyed our wait. Our waitress was knowledgable and attentive. The menu is seasonal, inventive, and offers lots of flavors. We're going back."

  • "Did tasting meal - YUM! All courses were tasty and presentation fabulous."

  • "Loved our appetizers--pork belly and a lovely salad with bleu cheese panna cotta, and a lovely pate with cherry. Did not fare quite as well with the entrees--scallops and short ribs were good, but not spectacular--the stand out was the duck. Desserts were excellent. For the prices, I'm not sure I'd go back--if I do, I'll be careful about what I order. Service was good, great wine list."

  • "I chose this place for an anniversary dinner with friends because there was so much going on in downtown Minneapolis, I didn't want to fight for parking, and I wanted to have something locally-sourced. We were seated immediately for our 7pm Friday eve reservations. When we asked to be moved away from the door, we were accommodated fairly quickly. The service was very good - not great. The guys had to keep waving down our server to get their drinks refilled, but when I asked to have the wine decanted, it was quickly done. The wine menu is extensive and priced all over the board. If you want the 5-course tasting menu, the whole table needs to order it, but it was fabulous! Not an inexpensive evening out, but we all agreed we'd go back."

  • "We went for a date night out. Service and timing was great. We ordered the tasting menu and paired wine flight. All of the food was prepared well. Some of the foods were bland but still relatively good. The decor is quite sparse but tasteful. Temperature was great."

  • "We haven't been here for a couple years. The 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings was fabulous and the service was great, too."

  • "Corner Table is a wonderful restaurant. The pork belly was out of this world. For value, quality of food, and ambiance, I place this restaurant in towards the top of our personal list. It reminds me of Victory 44, a restaurant that is nestled in a neighborhood that is slightly outside the "restaurant row" of downtown stops, yet has amazing food that can easily compete with the really 'trendy' spots. We went to this restaurant based on their sustainable, healthy eating practices with local farms. This restaurant shows that it is possible to eat in an environmentally responsible way, yet be blown away by the high quality food."

  • "Second time visit for Restaurant Week. The selections were really nice - and the portions large - a great value for the prix fixe. Our server, Chris, did a great job of explaining the menu items and gave some recommendations, which we always appreciate. Chris was attentive but not hovering, friendly and polite. The food was so delicious, with the short ribs entrée stellar. The doughnuts for dessert with the sauce were perfectly flavorful yet light - very satisfying. Can't wait to try their new location and plan to visit often to try more items - they just keep getting better!"

  • "I had been wanting to try Corner Table for quite some time based on recommendations by friends, but it just kept getting put off. Since we were going to a concert in the area, I decided to finally make a reservation. We left the concert early and got to the restaurant an hour before our reservation and the place was packed !! But we were able to have a glass of wine or two at the tiny bar/waiting area and make several new friends while we waited. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the food and wine. Chef Thomas is brilliant in his choices and preparations. We did the Tasting Menu with wine and it was possibly the best meal we have ever had. We will not put off our next visit to this small gem!"

  • "We visited based on other reviews of the restaurant. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. He can be hard to 'wow' when it comes to food, but he has not stopped talking about this meal and how much he loved it! The ambience is casual and not stuffy. Food is amazing."

  • "Our annual March birthday group really enjoyed the tasting menu. Our server was very nice and the owner's wine suggestions were great (we declined the wine flight). We are looking forward to the new location where parking will be a bit easier."

  • "If you are looking for fantastic, LOCAL food, look no further...Corner Table does it right and they do it locally...and affordably! Nick, the owner, was behind the bar, his ability to pair fantastic wine with their food was exceptional, we depended on him for many recommendations. Presentation was beautiful, but paled in comparison to how the food actually tastes. Cannot wait for the new location to open!"

  • "Had heard about Corner table for quite some time but given its location never high on list. Took Jason DeRushas advice from MSP Mag where he touted as his fav in town. He was spot on. Very cozy 13 table space. Chef Thomas food was as good as I've had in town and the service was impeccable. Felt very taken care of and servers knew their stuff to a "T". If you are reading this thinking, "yeah, I've wanted to try that place but...." Make it a priority to do so. You will kick yourself for not discovering sooner. I understand they will be moving 3 blocks down in the next month or so to a more off street facing location."

  • "The service was great, in the sense that the wait staff did everything expected of them really well. The thing that stood out was how well informed one member of the staff in particular was about their wine selection. We did the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings and I believe that the background information really added something special to the meal experience. Aside from that, the food was delicious! The scallops and dessert stood about above the rest of the (also delicious) meal"

  • "We went out to Corner Table with another couple for Restaurant Week and had a fantastic time. The restaurant and service were very nice, however I believe we had higher expectations for the food. Now this is all relative as everything was done professionally well, however some of the flavors were just kind of meh. I think I ordered best of our group with the pork belly appetizer (amazing, and I'm usually not a pork belly fan), the short ribs and the sweet potato donuts. I would come back just for the sweet potato donuts. My wife and the other guy we were with ordered the scallops which were done really well however the rice and flavors around the scallops were bland. Overall we had a great time, however the meal did not blow us away."

  • "I wanted to go to this restaurant because it is locally sourced. I was hoping for good food and a fun story. What I got was absolutely fantastic food, an awesome waitress in Siri, and really cool ambience. Siri helped us find what to eat even though we did not know all the food on the menu. The Pork Belly starter was amazing, I didn't know fingerling potatoes could taste so good. Our meat was cooked and seasoned perfect and the Napoleon dessert was phenomenal, the pastry could not have had a better texture. For the quality of food I expected to pay way more so the price is good. It felt great to eat at a restaurant where they obviously cared about what they served. Worth mentioning is that the head chef is the butcher too!"

  • "Corner Table definitely did not disappoint. After seeing it listed on the "best of" lists for months we gave it a try. The food was amazing as was the service. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We enjoyed the tasting menu. Very unique and new experiences. Everything was prepared top notch. We also really enjoyed the wine pairings. Had wines we had never tried before, these are not your "run of the mill" wine selections. We will definitely return. If you adore scallops, just go for those perfections.!"

  • "Before restaurant week I had never heard of this restaurant, but a friend wanted to try it and wow am I glad I did. The pork belly appetizer with sauerkraut and mustard seed was fantastic!!!! I thought that the coconut risotto with Thai curry was a little bland but the scallops were perfectly prepared and delicious. My dining companions enjoyed the sweet potato doughnuts."

  • "Corner Table is truly a gem and the type of place you want to keep hidden from the general public because it's so special. The ambiance, the service, the wine list, the lighting, everything was fantastic. There was a gentle hum of noise, just loud enough where you don't feel like everyone can hear your convo, but soft enough that you can hear each other well. Our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and wine items for restaurant week and could tell us why it was a good pairing with what we ordered as well as gave us suggestions as to what things would be the best fit for us. Everything was absolutely delicious! I also loved how it was a more intimate space, you know you're going to be taken care of. Overall, Outstanding!"

  • "Dining at Corner Table was a wonderful experience. It was a cozy and romantic atmosphere. Our server was friendly, attentive, and really knowledgeable. She recommended starting off with the pork belly appetizer. It was incredibly delicious! My husband and I agreed that it was the best dish we had eaten in a long time. The meat was definitely the star in all the dishes. We shared the potato gnocchi with oxtail, and the oxtail was really tasty. For entrees, we got the scallops and the duck breast. Both were great! We also had the roasted fingerling potatoes with creme fraiche and pancetta, which were also really good. I would recommend Corner Table to everyone!"

  • "My fiance and I had dinner at The Corner Table on Valentine's Day this year. We have been there several times before and have had wonderful meals. The portion's are small, but well presented and I have never left the restaurant hungry. Suri has been our waitress each time and is amazing! Her knowledge of the food, the wine and other interesting items keeps the meal flowing during the evening. We did the six course meal with the wine tasting and it was incredible. Each wine was selected for the food, but also for our preference of red wine for the evening. Such interesting combinations and flavors. I would highly recommend The Corner Table, but be prepared for a bit of a pricy night, but it is worth every dime!"

  • "Food was outstanding from course 1 to the dessert. Service was top notch and courses were spread out perfectly over the course of the night. couldn't have had a better meal and evening there. Tried most of the starters, so mixed it up with charcuterie (excellent), torchon (excellent - shocked me how good this was), half of Duck Ragu pasta (had to try a pasta and did not regret it), roasted duck breast (perfection), Scallops (amazing plate) and winter fruit and veg (shockingly perfect with dinner). Every dish is recommended and you can't go wrong with anything. Our 2 fav dishes we didn't even order - pork belly and bologna sandwich. Wine pairings for entree was excellent - paired by server."

  • "Corner Table is one of our favorites. The food is excellent! Thomas and staff do an superb job and combining the flavors for a savory bite. Nick and Chennie are very hospitable and make you feel welcomed. They definitely have a passion for the restaurant and unique tastes they can provide or encourage you to try. Although everything might not be a favorite you will not regret trying something new. The bolognese sandwich is a pleasant surprise and the risotto is excellent and the desserts ... Just ask your waitress which she recommends ... They are fabulous. This place doesn't disappoint."

  • "Usually don't have the time to write reviews, but felt I had to take a few minutes to say how wonderful this restaurant is. We went on the evening before Valentines's Day, but were actually celebrating two birthdays. I had made a seating request in the comment section of my Open Table reservation, and it was fully met. We totally enjoyed a special tasting menu that was being offered - absolutely fantastic! Service was impeccable- efficient, relaxed, helpful, knowledgable, charming and non-intrusive. This is high-quality dining in a neighborhood setting. Look forward to going again when they move a few blocks south, and also checking out the new place they will open at the current location."

  • "Eaten here 5 or 6 times and our best meal yet! Chef Thomas does an amazing job in balancing flavors, textures, and presentation in the Ox Tail Gnocchi and the Duck Breast. We started with the new Bibb Salad and blue cheese pana cotta balancing the blue cheese against the citrus on top of the textures of the Bibb lettuce. Perfect! The Maple Mascarpone Napoleon and the Chocolate were great finishes. Chris, whom we always ask for, did his usual attentive job. We can't wait for the new Southern themed space to open when Corner Table moves to the old Chenmaya space up the street. Also excited about spending summer nights on the new patio! In all our world travels, it's great to have Corner Table so close for some of the best dining ever!"

  • "Excellent food. The Chef's 5-course was great from beginning to end. Clinker of a wine, though. Andrew Will '10 Cab Franc was billed as great by the waiter and tasted like a cheap Chianti. Crowded tables and high noise level. Wait staff spend 10 minutes and more moving tables around, making more noise and bumping into us. Pretty much zero ambiance. Maybe it'll improve when they move to 46th & Nic?"
