Diner Reviews
  • "Very creative dishes for brunch but was a bit intimidating for non foodies in our group; wait staff was not all that helpful but attentive. Lovely space"

  • "We visited Corner Table for the first time and had a fabulous experience. The service and atmosphere were perfect, while small inside, it didn't feel crowded. Our waiter explained the various fishes and we tried all the ones he recommended. We were not disappointed, our starters and dinner were fantastic. Knowing that they change their menu regularly will ensure we visit again."

  • "From the moment we entered the staff were happy and welcoming The food was amazing - we had the tasting menu with wine pairing The wine was perfect and matched the food perfectly You leave feeling well fed and happy! PS the fresh sweet potato donuts were soft, silky and delicious!"

  • "Flavorful renderings of both traditional and innovative dishes using local quality ingredients. In terms of style and substance I would equate it with Perilla in Greenwich Village - the same careful approach to food, properly trained but comfortably casual waitstaff and spare but pleasing decor. Definitely worth a visit (or two, or three, or...)!"

  • "Everything from the service to the food was great! I knew I was in for a treat when they brought me a French press coffee! The sweet potato long John with maple cream was delicious! The grits were creamy & perfectly seasoned. The Johnny cake stuffed with ham & cheese was crispy on the exterior & moist on the inside. This is my new favorite brunch location! I look forward to visiting for dinner"

  • "The food was excellent (especially the pork appetizer), and so was the brisket and grits. The chocolate mousse was also delicious."

  • "My girlfriend and I love going to Corner Table, and our Restaurant Week experience was no exception. Our server, Siri, was knowledgable and helpful as always, and paced our meal beautifully. We loved the wine pairings that were curated for the three course prix fixe menu, and were rhapsodic over every bite and sip throughout all of our six collective courses."

  • "I cannot give it enough stars! It is a farm-to-table restaurant that pulls all of their produce and meat from local farms. The ambiance is wonderful for a romantic dinner or catching up with friends over a great meal. I have only been here for dinner, but brunch is definitely on the agenda. It is a little pricey (I go here for special occasions), but you will leave happy! I highly recommend the tasting menu, offering several courses. I have enjoyed everything that has been placed in front of me. My ultimate goal is to do the Kitchen Table option; a 12 course meal served with wine for your party. My sister and I are saving this for a very special occasion! I highly suggest you try the corner table for your next divine cuisine intervention!"

  • "Finally had a chance to go for restaurant week. Great service, awesome food. Loved the restaurant, was a nice smaller size with a cute patio. Great for a date or a small group of good friends. Will definitely be back."

  • " The service was great, the staff outstanding, the ambience a mixture of cute, comfortable, and romantic, the platings attractive. The food was not great. The ricotta gnocchi was bland and flavorless; the pork belly itself was good, but the chow-chow was extremely sweet with little vinegar, leaving the dish cloying and too heavy. The pork and linguica in the feijoada were good but the dish was dominated by an unpleasant sauce. The brisket, moist and well-cooked, was drenched in onion sauce that was more like onion syrup. Chocolate pot-de-creme was also too sweet and too bland, with little chocolate flavor. The doughnuts were dry and unappetizing. Staff did notice and take care of all of this very graciously, without being asked."

  • "We stopped by during Restaurant week. What we got was kind of a mixed bag, The pork belly was cooked perfectly but a little under-seasoned, the gnochi was very good, the Salmon with Fennel was ok but the life had been cooked out of both the Fennel and the Salmon. The real hit was a vegetarian item: crispy cauliflower with Beluga lentils, it was to die for. Great texture, flavor and beautiful presentation. It should be noted that presentation was excellent on all the plates we had. The wine pairings were also truly excellent and well thought out. The deserts were great, in particular we had a sweet potato doughnut that I just loved. We will return in the winter when the comfort food (obviously the specialty) is in season."

  • "Everything was amazing, our service, the food, the wine and the new location is beautiful! We did restaurant week and will be back again for brunch and/or dinner soon! One of the best dining experiences we've had in awhile, thank you for making it a great night."

  • "Went for restaurant week on Sunday and felt the food was a bit average. Didn't feel worth the money spent. Will try again off the regular menu next time because I have heard good things."

  • "We had Siri as our fabulous waitress and she ROCKED! The food was incredibly delicious and is a true delight to have in Mpls! I would recommend Corner Table to foodies and people who just love high end food! AMAZING experience!"

  • "The Corner Table is at the top of our our list of Minneapolis restaurants (like Tilia, Alma, and 112) that serve exceptional food, and now, in its new larger, casually sophisticated space, it's better than ever. It's one of the few places we take foodie friends visiting from other large cities. Additionally, the new brunch menu is amazing."

  • "Corner Table is perhaps doing the best job of any restaurant in town right now. The wild mushroom tasting menu was exceptional, and I'm not really a big mushroom fan most of the time. Dishes are gorgeously executed and generally taste at least as good as they look. The wine list is full of unusual offerings you won't see everywhere, but are interesting, well chosen, and pair well with the foods. If you enjoy cooking, the seats at the counter are a real treat as you get to watch everything that's happening on the line. It's well worth a visit. Or three."

  • "Maybe I should have waited for a table on the patio overlooking the asphalt parking lot, because the noise level inside was loud and the thumping music irritating. Inside decor was pleasant but ruined by no sound softening and the addition of senseless rock music. It was a dinner where you had to shout to have a conversation. The food menu was heavy on the meat with very little ingenuity with vegetables. Interesting sounding menu, but somehow the appetizers did not compliment the entrees. Flavors were OK, but nothing outstanding for the higher prices. Bonus for sourcing food locally and for organic focus."

  • "Our waitress went over and above to accommodate us. They also added a lovely touch for a birthday. I was very impressed. The food was very good but the menu was somewhat limited. It was a lovely place....nice and open, clean, comfortable and very tasteful."

  • "The Corner Table brunch is one of the best in Minneapolis. We had the CT and Salmon Eggs Benedicts and the sausage and biscuits. Everything was wonderful and our server was exceptional."

  • "Great atmosphere and inviting service. As it was our first time at the restaurant, our waiter explained everything in sufficient detail, but not too much. Provided great wine and beer pairings and proper pacing of the meal. Starters of bologna sandwich (seriously good . . ) and house sausage. Entrees of Duck Heart Ragu with Pappardelle and the Duck Confit was outstanding."

  • "I came knowing that the food would be amazing, but it was great to have a server that let us take our time choosing off the menu without checking in too often or being overly informative. He had a great sense of humor the entire time which made the experience that much better. I definitely recommend the long johns and pork belly anything!"

  • "I had requested a special table for requested a special table for our anniversary-we were shown to a table outside next to the door. The mosquitoes were horrible and I suggest they get some candles or something to keep them away. Usually when you mention a special occasion, you at least get a greeting, if nothing else. Didn't happen. Charcuterie was wonderful, although missing the normal accoutrements-pickled veggies, fruit spreads, etc. that we have received in the past. Halibut was good, lamb gnocchi had tons of meat, but swimming in oil. The highlight was the maple Napoleon for dessert! Light and wonderful! Will come again, but some attention to detail seems lacking."

  • "This restaurant was very good in it's old space a few blocks away--but now it has it all; ambiance, character and a very welcoming openness. The menu is not over reaching and it delivers what it promises--extraordinary food prepared with care--and flair. Be sure to try the Napolean for dessert."

  • "Was looking for some place we hadn't been to for our anniversary dinner. Saw the Corner Table listed in Mpls-StPaul magazine as one of their top 50 restaruants. Boy, were they right. Every employee we encountered was top notch and welcoming. The servers were very helpful in describing the menu items. We started with the duck confit appetizer, and licked the platter clean. The lamb Wellington was perfect and the truffled halibut was simply extraordinary. And be sure and save room for dessert. Yes, we'll be back -- soon!"

  • "The food was interesting, but not all that special given the cost of the entrees. Choices are limited. There was only one fish entree from which to choose. The salad was completely forgettable. A party of four - none of us are eager to return."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "Our waiter warned us about the portions and indeed they were substantial. I think I would have rated it 5 stars if the portions were a little smaller. One entree would have been plenty for my husband and I (and we were very hungry). But we like to try a couple of thugs to share and it was way too much food. The lamb Wellington was so delicious!"

  • "Everything was on point. We were warmly greeted as we walked in the door, and quickly shown to our table. We were able to look over menus before Jesse greeted us. He went over some signature items and then informed us of the five course tasting menu. After a debate over signature items or the tasting menu, we went for the tasting menu. It was INCREDIBLE. Every course was beautiful to look at and taste. Portions were perfect, we left very satisfied but not stuffed. The wine pairings were fantastic. I cannot think of a single thing that could improve. We will be back!"

  • "we came to celebrate my sister's birthday. everyone was very impressed and the food. so, so fantastic. there was also a family with a young child who seemed like he needed to run around a bit. they set up a separate table for them on the patio so he could stretch his legs and they wouldn't disrupt anyone else eating. i thought it was handled really well and made everyone happy. will definitely be back!"

  • "We had a good experience except that when we brought our infant daughter in her car seat, the hostess have us a mini lecture about how I should have let the restaurant know about the car seat ahead of time. There were a number of places where the car seat would have worked and we had a reservation. The comment was unnecessary and made us feel unwelcome."

  • "My husband and I were nestled into a row of 2 top tables. The Restaraunt was energized w engaged conversations all around. Our server was only on his second night of work - but fabulous! He seemed to know the menu very well and what he didn't know the answer to he was happy to discover. His love for the place was evident. We loved the creative food and suggested wines that paired beautifully. We will be back! This is truly a neighborhood GEM!"

  • "Many of the brunch offerings are off the beaten path. It was fun to try the country fried rabbit with the sweet potato waffle, for example. And the French press coffee was wonderful. The wait staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. I look forward to trying the dinner menu."

  • "In our first visit to the new location, we tried the five course tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was disappointing in one way or another; for example, the "amuse-bouche" was a simple round corn fritter; the salmon mouse was oddly waxy, although its avocado filling and potato salad paring was tasty; the highly-touted pork belly was limp. The portion sizes were tiny even for a tasting menu. And the wine pairing was the smallest pour I have ever seen; when we pointed this out to the server, she condescendingly said it was a "tasting pour", as if we did not know what we were complaining about. Given how many great small plate restaurants there are in the Twin Cities, we cannot recommend a mediocre tasting menu at $200 for two."

  • "There were only 2 or 3 items on the menu that didn't include pork, foie gras, or meat. The only starter on the menu without meat was a green salad. Pathetically unimaginative with the trendy pork, "pork belly," or bacon in practically every dish on the menu. We asked if we could have a cheese platter as an appetizer, and that was available -- why not add it to the menu? Very disappointing, especially since we'd dined at Restaurant Alma the night before and when we asked for vegetarian options, the waitress brought us a different menu, with 9 or 10 vegetarian options (all of them delicious, I might add!) If you're a vegetarian looking for a good meal, steer clear of this restaurant and go to Restaurant Alma instead."

  • "Six of us recently dined at Corner Table, four enjoyed their meals, two of us did not. I ordered the pasta dish (ricotta filled) with carrot puree; the meal arrived cool (along with two other meals at the table), the pasta was thick and uncooked, the ricotta filling didn't have much, if any, taste to it, and the carrot puree was bland; the entire dish was bland. I tried the 'soup of the day' (ramp/leek and potato puree), again, very bland. I'm not a fan of salt, but in this case a pinch of it would have added some excitement to the dishes. For a restaurant that's received as much 'acclaim' as this one has, I'm surprised I found two less than adequate dishes on their menu."

  • "We were a party of 5. Each of us ordered something different. All starters where unique. Our entres were excellent. We fully intend to go back for their tasting menu complimented with wine. (If your preference is veggie, they have that as well).0"
