Tucked into a quiet corner of Biltmore Village is one of Richard Sharp Smith's original Tudor Style cottages, and one of Asheville's most surprising restaurants. Chef Joe Scully brings years of culinary experience to bear in his special North Carolina take on Pan-American cuisine (he calls it "Caromerican"), while host Kevin Westmoreland makes you feel as welcome as an old friend at breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Dine in the sunny “Side Porch”, where tables cluster around a generous bar, or in one of the cozy fireplace rooms - upstairs or down.   • "Excellent meal in a casual setting. There is a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and some bar seating, and for the couple of hours we were there we saw a steady stream of people come and go. The food was very fresh and flavorful. We had a Jamaican jerk chicken - which had a nice tangy spice to it, and a pecan crusted trout, which was light and flaky and very tasty. We were told the menu changes frequently, but everything looked tempting. The wine list was decent, and the selection of other beverage options seemed to be good. The setting in Biltmore Village was quaint and peaceful, and we were seated by the window and could watch people strolling by. Highly recommended."

Starting with cocktails - The Heatwave - which was extraordinary, we proceeded to our entrees - My husband had the meatloaf and I, the pork chop - each full of flavors, each to be savored. The owner visited our table to greet us and was so friendly. He and our server were both attentive without being obtrusive. We inquired about the cocktail recipe for an upcoming getaway with friends where each couple brings a new cocktail to share. Before we departed, our waiter brought us the complete recipe. We only wish the Corner Kitchen was in Atlanta....It would be a favorite!"

I ordered the salmon with "udon" noodles. My salmon barely had any sauce on it so it was mostly dry. And the "udon" was, let's be real here, linguini noodles with some sort of weird peanut butter sauce on it. It was not good. Shame."

Service was excellent as well as the food. On the first day, I had trout & poached eggs with grits, and they were prepared perfectly. Poached eggs are not always prepared right, but the Corner Kitchen not only makes poached eggs perfectly, but makes a perfect bloody mary to go with it!!! Then we headed off to the Biltmore Estate for a tour and an evening concert on the adjacent patio. So we made another reservation for the next day - and it was another great experience. I highly recommend the Corner Kitchen."

We have been to this restaurant before & never had any problems with either the food or service. In retrospect, I should have sent the fish back. But I didn't. So it was my fault."
