Diner Reviews
  • "We discovered this place during restaurant week. Fell in love with it. My husband suggested we go back there for dinner on Saturday night. I know that it impressed him as he is not one to suggest going out to eat. Everything was fantastic!! we did purchase the cookbook that Andie put together and have enjoyed a few dishes from there also."

  • "Really enjoyed our meal. Shared all plates, great wine suggestions, would definitely go back."

  • "This was a third visit and each time it is better than the last. The menu is always changing which makes each visit a different dining experience. The service was outstanding."

  • "Cozy, wonderful neighborhood bistro with lots of creative offerrings that are sharable. Wait staff are excellent. This is the place you want to take your friends who have never been there before."

  • "Don't let the casual name fool you...the food is first rate. Everything is prepared fresh and the presentation is varied and fun with a touch of class thrown in. The best thing is that you will find seasonal menu items unique to the Cork and Fork which isn't an easy feat in this valley. And they're all delicious. Better make reservations, however. The place is relatively small and quite popular."

  • "Wonderful neighborhood small plate selection for foodies. Large selection and all good. Small, close but worth it. Associated with cooking school next door."

  • "I didn't have any "cork" however all of the "fork" was awesome."

  • "i love the Cork 'N Fork. the food is always fresh and tasty. menu items are unique with interesting flavors. best of all, i enjoy the small plates concept. we order and share. a few bites does the trick and i never feel like i have over-indulged. My favorite item is the Farmers Salad, a wonderful blend of flavors with shaved Brussel sprouts and kale. sounds too healthy but tastes divine! the service is great, too. our servers are always in the vicinity, checking in, always with an upbeat attitude. there are lots of places to choose in La Quinta, but Cork 'N Fork is my number one!"

  • "The menu was interesting, but the food was just so so. Some was very good and some was mediocre to not so good. The red velvet gelato was uninspiring to say the least. Just red velvet cake mixed with ice cream. Grilled watermelon salad was very poor. Beet salad was good. leek soup was good also."

  • "Read the great reviews and we were excited to go. The food was fair and that is about it. It is hard to explain. The ingredients were fresh, the dishes were well executed and they were the best they could be...but honestly the flavors were just muddled, conflicting and overdone. Each dish was over-dressed or had just one too many ingredients. It was a bit of a mess. A great example is the prosciutto appetizer. Great ham, nicely sliced DRENCHED in a mustard sauce covered in arugula and covered in grated cheese. All great ingredients all fresh and high quality...the dish was a inedible. Pizza, same thing....Lettuce wraps, three different kinds of herbs, peanuts, onions, mango, sauce....overkill. Place was packed so maybe its just me."

  • "This is a real find where you would least expect it. The food is original and designed to be shared. Courses are promptly searved so waiting to order second or thirds is not a problem. Dine on great food at your own pace."

  • "Great selection of small plates. Great for sharing around a table. Also a great, reasonably priced wine list"

  • "amazing food, eclectic menu and special happy hour menu when we were there."

  • "Fun food small size portion - so it is fun to share with a large group- always crowded make sure to make a reservation - great deals in the summer- definitely a place to come back to many times"

  • "Probably one of our favorites in the desert. The only thing disappointing is that due to the changing menu, we seemed to always miss the week that featured firecracker ribs. I am then forced to make them myself from the cookbook from The Cork & Fork. I guess it is actually a win-win."

  • "Small plates allow for sharing. Nice portions fit for romantic evening."

  • "Always a delicious delight to dine at Cork and Fork."

  • "We had the most wonderful evening. Dinner was spectacular! ! The flavors outstanding. The service was amazing. We will definitely go back there."

  • "Quality of the food is hit and miss -- a couple were delightful tasty treats, others pasty and tasteless. Main dish and appetizer portions are equally small in size, so several dishes needed to be ordered, adding up to an expensive meal. Wine list is very mediocre and uninteresting."

  • "Tried for restaurant week with friends. Enjoyable meal and even regular meal prices are good. Food was tasty however, I like plainer dishes. Everyone had plenty to eat."

  • "First time here and I thought if give it a try for restaurant week. Great menu & wine list. Desserts are killer and can't wait to go back and have dinner off the regular menu. Definitely recommend this spot!"

  • "Excellent food and the service provided by Colette has amazing!"

  • "We took the opportunity to dine here for the first time during restaurant week. The menu had a lot of great looking options for all 3 courses. The dishes we picked were small but rich and complex. We especially enjoyed the Korean pork wraps as an appetizer, and the vegetarian lasagna and scallops for main dishes. All 3 desserts were spectacular. Service was excellent. We had such a great time we returned on two days later and brought friends! A winner."

  • "The food here was excellent! From the appetizers, to the main course, to the dessert, this was the best meal I have had in the desert in a long time! The atmosphere is intimate, the restaurant small, but do not be deceived. The food is amazing. I will be taking family and friends there next time they are visiting as a "must" go do for dinner. Service was the best as well and good wine selection. "

  • "Food was delicious. Chef use to work for Betty Ford. All fresh and well seasoned. Small plates but intended for sharing. For example, one dish had two tacos, another dish had two tamales, easy enough for the two of us to transfer one to each plate. Salad was easily enough for at least two to share. Be sure to go with folks you are comfortable sharing plates with as this restaurant's concept is sharing; intent being that you order several dishes that can be split between at least two people. Can get expensive if you order too many dishes. Similar to a tapas restaurant. We also had a delicious Malbec from Argentina. Wines by the glass typically have two different pours (e.g. 3 or 6 ounces)priced in line with other area restaurants."

  • "We went for restaurant week, wonderful food and selection of wines. Who wouldn't love grilled watermelon salad, filet tacos and lemon curd cake!! Looks like their Happy Hour will also be on my list."

  • "The staff was slow and rude. They were unwilling to accommodate dietary needs. They ran out of food in a pre-fix menu. They wouldn't let me bring in a birthday cake I celebrate my birthday. I will never return. "

  • "This was a real find...didn't expect such good food. Meals are small but the right amount and done with flair!"

  • " We went to Cork and Fork during restaurant week and will be going back! I had the grilled watermelon salad that was fabulous as were the scallops and brownie sundae!!"

  • "This was my second time at Cork and Fork and the food was very tasty and fresh. We were part of Restaurant week and there was a group of 8 next to us which is why the noise level was a bit much, but aside from that we truly enjoyed ourselves. The salmon appetizer was the only thing we didn't love, everything else was truly yummy. The Kale salad, filet mignon tacos and sunday sundae were to die for. Enjoy and bon appetit"

  • "If you are interested in food this is the place for you. Fascinating, creative, dishes with combinations I have never come across before. Also, the portions are just the right size enabling you to enjoy several courses without leaving feeling uncomfortable."

  • "Our 6 small plates were all well prepared allowing the delicate flavor of the main ingredient to be enhanced but not overpowered or lost by the condiment. The grilled watermelon and pork belly lettuce wraps were outstanding. Unique wine list but our server was well versed to assist you in making the right selection. "

  • "Tried it our first night in town. So great we had to come back! Favorites - local date plate and Korean pork belly lettuce wraps (had them both times). Pizzas are perfect. For dessert you have to try the Butterscotch Pot de Creme with the applewood smoked bacon crumbles. Outrageous!"

  • "So pleased to find another restaurant in La Quinta. Really good food and wine list"
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "The dishes were creative and the flavors were nice if it weren't overly salty. Also, we waited at least 30 minutes for our food to arrive to us because a large party was present."

  • "We love trying new places to eat and after looking over the 4.5 reviews we had to be there! Sharing most everything is normal for us when dining out and in this case the portions were larger than anticipated. The farmers market salad I thought was very good (wife, way to sweet), gazpacho soup was very good (wife thought too sweet, made with fruit), bruschetta was great (wife, too sweet, honey over the top), the beef sliders had excellent beef but not too tasteful and we both thought the margarita pizza was great!! My 60 yr. old, 104# wife makes all the above items and she is really into all the finest ingredients when preparing those items with less sweet tasting. My Linda use to be a restaurant critic in the Newport Beach area. "

  • "Brought some new friends to the C & F, again everything was outstanding, and they thoroughly enjoyed "a new menu item" THE KOREAN PORK BELLY, LETTUCE WRAPS, awesome, and the new "NANNO PIZZA" of course our server Courtney was charming."

  • "Cork n Fork was a nice find round the corner from my Mom's in La Quinta. You can share your way through a tasty meal. Very cute for such a tiny space. Bit loud & a bit rushed, but in a friendly way. You must make a rez if u dont want to wait for a table. Only disappointment was that for a joint with "Cork" in it's name was that they did not have any non-alcoholic wine on their list."
