  • "Always enjoy Coquette. We celebrated my wife's birthday here as it is one of her favorite places. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Music was great and the food is always fresh and interesting. I had fried catfish, which was very good, and my wife and daughter had the shrimp and grits with tasso gravy. It was excellent. Everything we had was good. The dessert they brought for my wife's birthday was also excellent and a little lagniappe was the champagne they served with it."

  • "I have eaten eaten at some of the highest rated restaurants in the world and the best was found here. We did the 5 course meal (which was really 7). Locally sourced food with a nod to the region in preparation. Inspired wine pairings. Before dinner I ordered a Tom Collins which was perfectly prepared and had a unique spin which was delightful. Fine dining at its best. Not 'stuffy' at all- very welcoming. Knowledgeable service staff; I was impressed that they asked about food allergies and preferences since the meal can be customized to your liking. Seated in great room upstairs with wonderful lighting and acoustics. I took my husband there for BD dinner- I hit a home run in choosing Coquette: we will remember it for the rest of our lives."

  • "Coquette has amazing food. It's a bit pricey so my husband and I have only been twice but it is definitely worth it. The appetizers and small plates are very small, about tasting portion sized, but they offer fantastic gourmet flavors I haven't experienced elsewhere. The small sizes of the food doesn't really bother me especially when I think about how much I would be gorging myself if I had the opportunity. The staff is knowledgable and serves in a timely manner. I was first drawn to coquette by the unique architecture of the building and the overall cute look the place had going for it. Overall, I don't see how anyone couldn't like this restaurant."

  • "Every bite of our meal here was terrific, especially the carpaccio, and be sure to leave room for dessert. The Peaches & Cream was beautiful, delicious and just the right portion. The service was attentive and everyone was very considerate of my gluten sensitivity. I highly recommend this place for dinner."

  • "Since it was our first time there, we opted for the 5 course tasting and the additional wine pairing. The initial bites & 1st course of salmon were exquisite, my only criticism was that two of the five dishes included a substantial amount of rice. It was delicious, of course, and the tastes differed enough, I was only disappointed because rice is so filling, making it difficult to get through all the courses. That being said I was impressed by the portion sizes of the "tastes." The paired wines worked very well with the chosen dishes, although personally, since we added a cocktail to the very beginning, the total of 5 different types of alcohol is something I may do differently in the future to help curb the next day's headache."

  • "Coquette has never disappointed me. Never. Had the three course $23 lunch. Each course was fantastic - a great value. I believe only available in the summer. They do very interesting (but not too weird) combinations of flavors and new takes on old favorites like shrimp and grits, and fried catfish."

  • "My boyfriend and I excitedly left Birmingham at 6:30 am to get to New Orleans in time for lunch at Coquette. We had read in multiple books and all over the internet about how great this restaurant was, so our hopes were high. However, when we walked up to the restaurant, I made the comment "it smells like a house fire out here," and that sentiment was continued throughout the meal. Everything we were served had been smoked in their backyard smoker, and therefore everything tasted like a house fire, or like it had been smoked with treated pine. We were so confused, and after rereading the great reviews, we decided it must have just been a mistake on their part, and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, we will not be going back."

  • "New Orleans is noted for great food, but I find the downtown restaurants too noisy, crowded and over priced. Coquette breaks this pattern. A nice small neighborhood restaurants offering good food and wine. I had soft shell crabs, as good as any. Good wine list and priced well. I highly recommend Coquettes is you want to get out of the French Quarter."

  • "Started out with an "old fashioned" made with e h taylor. Bread and butter was excellent as always, came out nice and hot. Soup was on the cusp of being too salty, but the potato salad was so good, I asked for a little bit more. I got a huge bowlful of it for a $5 surcharge, not bad. Got shrimp and grits, with bacon, okra, and cherry tomatoes. Broth in that was amazing. Got a chocolate pot de creme with a mint chantilly on top. The chanitlly was a bit too "toothpaste-y" on it's own, but paired well with the pot de creme. Server was great. She explained some of their barreling program for us."

The menu changes pretty much daily and has good variety for all. Nice atmosphere, maybe even a bit fancy, but not at all pretentious. A dangerous place to have in the neighborhood!!"

  • "We saw the restaurant was listed in Food and Wine magazine and were interested to try it out. It's located in the Garden District so it's away from the bustle of the French Quarter. Lovely building and great charm. The menu changes daily and we were very happy with our dishes. Also had a nice French Cabernet Franc that paired very well with the duck. Service was a tad slow but this isn't a place to rush dinner anyway. The staff was very nice and we had a lovely experience. Definitely going back!"

  • "We had reservations but were seated an hour after our reserved time. We were on vacation without kids so it didn't really bother us that night but would have another time. It did get so late that we ended up only having an appetizer and then headed back to our hotel b/c of an early morning flight. BUT - great scene, fun bar, cool neighborhood!"

  • "Our experience was horrible on June 6, 2014. We waited half an hour at our table with no server in sight. We grabbed a bus boy and asked him to get us something to drink. When Jacob, the manager, eventually showed up he seemed annoyed, stressed and aggravated and distracted. Our meals arrived cold and we were never asked how our food was. We will NEVER go back and have told our 40 New Orleans friends at a private dinner party at Commander's Palace Saturday night, June 7, never to go to Coquette either. The manager seemed more nervous and distracted than caring about our returning business. We are in New Orleans often and have many friends there. We shall spread the word."

  • "Service was terrible. Had a long hair in my food. Fish was so old, when they cooked it and put it on the plate, it released some fishy tasting juice. 15$ for a small plate of vegetables, which didn't even taste crisp or fresh (scam). I could go on more about this place. But it really was an awful experience and I hope it doesn't happen to others."

  • "I'm not the biggest lover of fish, but I took the bartender's suggestion on the halibut! With out a doubt, the best halibut I've ever had! I didn't think capers, plums and brown butter sauce with a tomato 'hash' could possibly work, but clearly I'm not the innovative chef that Michael is! I was in town to take my son to orientation and I'm already planning on going back in August to see what other new seasonal items will be on the menu! You won't regret going to this restaurant! Great service, beautiful ambience and amazing food with a delicious glass of wine!!"

  • "What a wonderful find! This is very easy to get to by streetcar or bus. The service along with the decor had a warm friendliness about it. The food was excellent, even by the high standards of New Orleans. We mentioned to the server that we were debating between the duck and the soft-shelled crab and would like to share the two plates, which we often do. When the meals arrived, they were very nicely divided into two servings without sacrificing the well designed and attractive plating. Both dishes along with the small plates were done perfectly. If we lived in NOLA, we'd be "regulars" here. "

  • "We come here often and find it consistently great. Sunday's brunch favorites: oysters Benedict, ham sandwich, hamburger (with hooks cheese). One suggestion: Order your first drink as soon as you sit down...they are slow in the drink-making category. "
