  • "Great meal. Considerably better than last visit. Snapper crudo outstanding. Frozen coconut, cucumber, basil, sesame desert one of the best things I've eaten in years, sweet or savory. And I wasn't even hungry by then. Kudos to pastry chef and whoever executed."

  • "The portions are small and the cuisine is farm to table as they say, but highly manipulated. The trout was very tasty."

  • "Though our pompano fish main course and shared coconut desert were outstanding, we started with two versions of roasted veggie - stunning combinations, perfectly prepared, dressed lightly - and deliciously!"

  • "I'm conflicted about these ratings. My food was excellent. The local vegetable salad was, perhaps, the prettiest dish I have ever been served. It was excellent, as well. My pork tenderloin was very good. My wife's duck was superior, but her brussels sprouts "salad" wasn't so great. The Nori dressing wasn't our cup of tea. The ambiance was OK - more like a local bar than an upscale restaurant - yes, I still want a table cloth and something other than wood and brick for décor. Our "assistant server" was delightful and excellent. Our "main server," not so much. We didn't see much of her. And, I would think someone in the place would be able to speak about the wine other than to say "medium body.""

  • "The place is beautiful - magnificent bar. It took 20 minutes to be served. We chose the 5 course tasting menu with paired wines. Most courses were inventive and delicious. The seared duck breast, was way over salted. Too many dishes relied too heavily on various iterations of mustards. The dessert though, was perfect. Not one staff person knew one single thing about any of the wines served. When I asked about one in particular, the wait staff picked up the bottle and read the label to us. Wait staff were not sharply professional and clearly there were menu/wine training issues. The evening was OK. Won't go back any time soon."

  • "I enjoyed a mini girls night n New Orleans after driving in from a day of work in Mississippi. The food, drink, and company were perfect. After having lived in New Orleans for 35 years, I've come to expect amazing food, and Coquette delivers! The food is classic but prepared with such a modern twist. I've visited Coquette with a former two-time Chef of New Orleans, and he agrees that this is what food needs to be, that Coquette offers a culinary experience and not just a meal. I will certainly be back in the future!"

  • "The bar is beautiful; the food is unique and interesting - and the ambiance is delightful. Highly recommended - a favorite of locals in the neighborhood."

  • "amuse bouche - Smoked catfish dip amuse bouche - fried oyster on a piece of short rib 1) beef tartare, tossed with a light dijon, with a pink peppercorn creme fraiche (Prosecco) 2) a "salad" of fried brussels sprouts and roasted turnips on a nori aoili (cuvee rose) 3) red snapper in a clam broth (which was quite milky), with fresh lima beans and chunks of thick cut bacon (pino gris) 4) pan-roasted duck breast beside a confit duck leg, and atop a tamirand mustard sauce and a drizzle of cane syrup with some sort of greens that I can't remember (granache) amuse bouche - a palette cleanser of strawberry champagne snoball, with condensed milk, 5) a grapefruit curd (dessert prosecco) I can't wait to do it again. Best dinner I've had."

  • "The food exceeded expectations. The cured meats board was delicious and would have been perfect for a larger table. It was too much for us. The local veggies was a divine fresh salad. My hanger steak was full of flavor and quite tender. But the service was much too slow and it was quite loud. Still worth the trip and then some for the food."

  • "I think there has been a change in the chef and or the ambitions of this restaurant from a few years ago. The fun bar ambiance remains. Good bar tenders who have a lot of imagination and are adventurous. I'm less thrilled about the food. The food has had novel aspects to it but I find that the description of the food is bigger than the food itself. I realize that is tres chic and all the rest but, small plates do not have to microscopic."

  • "Located in a beautiful area with old houses worth a new visit. The menu is not large which is good since the atention given to the plates is phenomenal. Tried the ceviche for starter which has a wonderful semi sweet sauce. Our party had the duck which is sublime as well as the snapper, also very well conceived and executed. There are some tables outside and the restaurant has two floors. Wine list appropriate and at easonable prices. All in all an excellent experience."

  • "This was a wonderful opportunity for us visitors to get off the beaten tourist - Bourbon Street - track. Recommended by a local, Coquette met our expectations for well-conceived and presented food and drink. Great update on old-world atmosphere, friendly staff, and thoughtful service! Daily market menu means every day is different. Fish, vegetables, duck - all were excellent."

  • "While Coquette came highly recommended, our evening was less than stellar. The Air Conditioning kept coming on right above us and making it very cold for bursts of time. The staff seemed quite chilly too. They were very efficient and made good recommendations, but it felt like we were doing them a favour by being there. When we mentioned the temperature, they said they knew it was a problem. The final issue with the cool was that our mains were just that, cool. The plates were cold and the food was somewhat as well. They apologized, but nothing else. Maybe we just caught them on an off night? The smoked wild catfish was delicious and I enjoyed my steak tartar. With so many other wonderful restaurants to try we won't be rushing back."

  • "Great Farm-to-Table cooking with small but inventive menu. Great cocktail and wine list with a nice selection of wines by the glass which I appreciate. Inventive but not pretentious with friendly, well-informed staff. Highly recommended."

  • "My wife and I have now dined three times at Coquette. All three dinners were superb. In our latest experience we received the same excellent service, enjoyed their nice wine list and were blown away with our meal starting with the cured meat appetizer. The chef is great at pairing ingredients to achieve interesting and tasty combinations. We will go back whenever in New Orleans."

  • "Coquette's 5 course blind tasting menu will convert you to eat more veggies! Loved the roasted beets, fried Brussels sprouts and turnips. Who knew you could magically transform these side dishes into something irresistibly delicious. Please pass the vegetables!!"

  • "I've been dining at Coquette since it opened, and the food & atmosphere are still great, but I've noticed some lowering of service standards lately - a little abrupt. Chef has always been rigid about requests to alter a dish, e.g., by removing or substituting an ingredient. Usually I have no problem with that, as the dishes are so creative, delicious & well thought out. This time, however, it was bothersome, as I had called specifically to inquire about a friend with serious gluten intolerance, & was told that accommodating her would be no problem. What that turned out to be was a recitation of the dishes with no gluten, not an offer to modify any but 1 dish,. With such a small menu to begin with, my friend's options were pretty limited."

  • "We had the five course blind tasting menu with wine pairing. It was a spot on and very good."

  • "We excitedly anticipated our first experience at Coquette. While the food did not disappoint and was beautifully prepared, delicious, and lovingly presented, the poor service all but mitigated the wonderful food. While the food at Coquette is great, one is better served to go to another establishment that delivers good service because after all-dining is an experience and you should feel entirely satisfied at its conclusion. We felt unappreciated and dejected. Not a wonderful birthday experience as we'd hoped."

  • "Coquette is a good restaurant with a beautiful bar and a calm upstairs dining room. We shared plates among three people and found about half the dishes very creative and interesting. All ingredients were good. Desserts truly outstanding. Some dishes lacked pizazz. Overall a good choice for "new" New Orleans cuisine."

  • "We had a fantastic meal at Coquette. Both our appetizers were delicious and unique. Our main courses (red snapper and duck) were wonderful. Our desserts were also the best. This restaurant is definitely worth a return visit."

  • "The best food of our trip, and amazing service too. The food went well beyond typical for this city (which already ohas a high standard) and the service was even more so."

  • "We enjoyed a Friday night dinner for two after completing business in New Orleans, before the drive back home to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Loved the second floor dining room- more quiet than the first floor where there is a nice bar/tables. The windows on the second floor bring in a lot of light and add to the warmth of Coquette's. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very nice. The food was terrific! We will come again."

  • "Coquette consistently puts out amazing dishes, and the quickly changing menu ensure you'll get to try something new. All of the entrees and appetizers I've had at Coquette are among the best I have ever had."

  • "I was super impressed. Very casual decor, but the service and food were on par with any fine dining restaurant in town. One of my favorite places in New Orleans. Highly recommended. Also very cool wine list."

  • "My family has been to Coquette many times -- from the routine lunch to romantic dinners to special events. We always have great food and service! The menus change often to reflect the seasonal local/regional ingredients. Great cocktails and accompanying wine list. Easily our favorite bread in the city! Arguably one of the best restaurants in the city."

  • "We had dinner for two and did the tasting menu. The food was very good and very appealing to look at, although the farro dish was a bit too salty. The duck was delicious! Our service was excellent and the shotgun was charming. Each person that helped us was hospitable and enthusiastic. The glaring view of the brightly lit gas station across the street was prominent for the diner facing toward the window. This wasn't obtrusive, but noticeable. The wine pairing was "okay". I was excited by all of the flavors and would love to taste more from this kitchen!"

  • "Enjoyed the atmosphere; busy but quiet enough for visiting. I would rate all the food and drinks excellent except the main course; the pompano was dry(maybe overcooked?) and not too flavorful. Would definitely return but order something different. Drinks, appetizers, salad, and dessert were fresh and outstanding!"

  • "Service was mixed. Our waiter,John, was outstanding - friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, we had a reservation, had to wait over half an hour, and were not treated well until we sat down. Overall, though, John made up for it. He even comped us two glasses of wine when the bottle we chose wasn't available."

  • "What a pleasant surprise. The decor was a relaxed bistro environment. Our server was a pleasant well informed young lady who was always available to answer our many questions and deliver our drinks and food at appropriate intervals. The food itself was incredible. Every dish for every person in our party was scrumptious and innovative. We decided to book Coquettes to have a less formal and more relaxed venue to meet old friends whom we hadn't seen for a few years to catch up. We had dinner at two of the topped ranked TripAdvisor restaurants the previous nights. No comparison to Coquettes."

  • "For the last two years, upon our return to New Orleans after living away for three decades, my wife and I have ben seeking out the best restaurants in New Orleans. Coquette is among the very best. We highly recommend the three course lunch special, which is a real value. In particular, we recommend the shrimp over grits, a dish we have ordered in numerous places. Coquette's was even better than our former favorite at a restaurant in Charleston, SC. The arugula salad and the lemon tart for dessert are also outstanding. Even the sandwiches on the menu are terrific. The overall quality of the food is so very high. Coquette is in our top five among the dozens of NO restaurants we have visited."

  • "During my recent trip to New Orleans I had the chance to eat at one restaurant. I'm glad I chose Coquette! The food was delicious (I had the duck), and the staff was excellent. I would have given 5 stars if they still served the bacon infused bourbon!"

  • "I look forward to going to Coquette every time I'm in NOLA as the food, service atmosphere, everything is great. I've probably been there a dozen times in the last 2 years. This time, I felt like I needed to double check the address. It was awful, everything just awful. They had been closed for 2-3 days for Mardi Gras, so I don't know if that impacted the meal or if something else has happened as we have not been in town over the last 9 months. I would need some serious good reviews from others before I would go back."

  • "We had dinner at Coquette on a Friday evening in March after Mardi Gras. The food was interesting and well prepared but the service was unexceptional. Although the antique bar and tile floors were charming for a casual neighborhood bistro, we objected to prices that would have been appropriate for a restaurant with far greater comfort and attention to detail. The Spartan bar furniture and bare tabletops were not worthy of meals that cost nearly $100 per person. At least one wine on the wine list was priced $2 above the same wine in another high-end restaurant. We would not go to this restaurant again."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "The service was very poor especially since they were not busy. I got a cal the evening before to warn me that they were completely booked for the next day and if we didn't show up within 15 minutes after our appointment time then we would lose our table. We were there on time so there wasn't a problem but what stood out to us was that there were six empty tables the whole time we were there. We thought it was odd that they made the call, they weren't busy and service was terrible. Wouldn't go back because there are so many other places to go that offer better service and delicious food."

  • "went for Sunday brunch and were seated upstairs by the balcony. The service was attentive without being annoying. Had the hanger steak which was a new item on the menu. So tender like butta. Also had eggs Benedict. Equally delicious. And a couple small desserts. Will definitely return. One of our best food experiences in NOLA"
