Diner Reviews
  • "The food is nice, the place is nice, but for a moderate crowd it was a bit slow. Go when you have time to kill"

  • "I had brunch here several times in the past, but never the opportunity to try dinner. They were both exceptional. I started with the escargot and for the entree, duck. Both were very tasty and based on this and my previous brunches on Sunday, I'll be back and hope others will try them."

  • "I had the quiche du jour. It was delicious. My date had the omelet du jour. It was okay. He commented later that he should have had clams and fries. Desserts were 2x or 3x bigger than they should have been. All-in-all, though, a good lunch."

  • "I've been going to Coquette for years and every single dish I've tried has been delicious. The other remarkable thing is the food is always good and so is the service! I think it's rare for a lot of restaurants to maintain that type of quality over time and Coquette always delivers. In addition to the great food menu, the cocktail menu is also fantastic. The Canton Sidecar cocktail is by far my favorite cocktail in Raleigh."

  • "Food was great- I had quiche and soup which was excellent. Menu was very broad, lots of choice. Service was excellent The restaurant is noisy."

  • "I scheduled a luncheon with my flower girls for my wedding and they really helped make this event special by setting up a sweet tea party at our table complete with scones and croissants! I would highly recommend Coquette for any bridal, baby or wedding event or luncheon!"
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "Service was very good, but rushed and lacked personal attention. Food excellent with an excellent menu. Noise level excessive. An excessive wait to be seated despite an early reservation and many available tables. Young customers will enjoy this more than mature patrons."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "We have been dining at the Coquette Brasserie since it opened and have never had a reason to complain about the service or the food or the restaurant in general. The restaurant is always very clean and meets the standards of a high quality restaurant. The service staff is efficient, friendly and effective."

  • "This is one of my favorite places because they are focused on the food. Everytime I eat there, each dish is an experience crafted for the person's taste buds. The service is amazing as well! I have ordered various fish dishes that have all been delivered timely, cooked properly and magnificently blended with all the other food on the plate. As I said, an experience."

  • "Coquette is one of my favorite brunch spots in Raleigh! However, this weekend the food was a big miss. The very attentive waitress picked up right away I was dis-pleased with the food, and promptly put in an order for another dish. The manager brought out the alternative, and apologized profusely. While the food was still no up to par, the service made up for it. The staff and manager were attentive, and tried their very best to make our experience wonderful. It was simply the cook's poorly made and put together food that was the downfall. I recommend Coquette if you want a fun, light, beautifully presented restaurant to go to, but don't rely on the food."

  • "Food is relatively expensive compared to the quality of what you get. As a european I think I know the difference between a real tasting of "fromage et charcuterie" and the 2 pieces of cheese and the (non) cured pieces of salame that this restaurant offer. The "house cocktail sauce" of the shrimp cocktail is simply horrible, and tastes like a cheap mexican restaurant salsa. This restaurant just pretends to be a "french" restaurant, but has nothing to do with that cuisine. At first I thought it was funny to see people eating a burgher in a restaurant like this, but after the dinner I realized that probably those people picked the only good thing in the menu."

  • "Thus is my go to when entertaining, a consistent dining experience. Prefer for lunch or brunch. Can get loud, but that adds to the vibrant ambience. Love Coquette!"

  • "We've been to Coquette many times for brunch and have never been disappointed. It's a wonderful place to take out-of-town visitors - or just ourselves!"

  • "This was our second visit. Just as good as the first. Looking forward to the third. Potato croquettes were great as was the Alsatian tart. Gnocchi delicious. Only hitch was a steak that was a bit chewy."

  • "Hoped to have a lovely dinner with my teenaged Granddaughter. She loved the escargot (although I thought there was a bit too much of the garlic butter sauce... The little fellows were practically swimming in their sauce!), and Pom Frits, as well as the Seafood Crepes. I had the mussels, but they were over cooked. Quite shriveled and small. We had a very nice waitress. I did mention in my Open Table reservation, that my granddaughter was fluent in French, and it would be nice to have someone who spoke French speak with her... It IS a French restaurant, right? No feedback on that... No one even mentioned that I had this Open Table reservation, even though I told them when we arrived that we had a reservation."

  • "Brunch, lunch, or dinner...you won't be sorry. This place is a favorite of ours. Great signature cocktails! Try the Hanger Steak and Frites...yum!!! Brunch is a must...just make a reservation! Bottomless mimosas and my favorite Eggs Benedict. It can be a little noisy on Sundays, but that adds to the fun!"

  • "As usual a top notch meal. Only reason I don't give 5 stars on the food is the chicken was a bit dry."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "Love, love, love Coquette for Sunday brunch. The Chicken Paillard salad is my favorite. Service is consistently good. Look for Crystal (long blond hair) - she does a great job of being attentive without being smothering. The bottomless mimosas on Sundays (starting at noon) can't be beat. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Expect to find families with well-behaved small children (this is after all, North Raleigh and these kids know how to act in a nice restaurant). We will be back!"

  • "The restaurant was very busy, but well-staffed, so our orders arrived quickly. (We had reservations, which I recommend making.) The noise level was surprisingly low, considering the number of toddlers and babies we saw. And there was a wide selection of reasonably priced menu items. Brunch at Coquette on Father's Day was a great choice!"

  • "This is one of our favorites, with it's casual atmosphere and European flair. The food is well prepared and delicious (Hot olives? Whoda thunk it. Truffles and french fries? Yes PLEASE!). And the bread, the bread....While the menu is neither huge nor variable, we're never disappointed, and the staff is always delightful. Tre yummy ( 8 )"

  • "This is a great hidden gem for brunch- the atmosphere takes you right to a cafe in Paris. The bottomless mimosas are an absolute steal. The wide array of menu items are huge portions and the desserts are to die for!!"

  • "Went here for a "quick bite" at the last minute, and they readily accommodated us. Things slow down in Raleigh in the summer, so no surprise to see we could get a relatively late (9 pm) table. Food was still outstanding, and the wife loved her cocktail. She had the moules frites and all were well cooked and seasoned. I had the beef bourgignonne and it was delicious and a full plate!"

  • "Love the bar area, Frisee salad and truffled frites"

  • "I would recommend making a reservation for brunch, at least if you are coming around noon. I had made a reservation which ensured we were seated immediately - otherwise, we would have had to wait at least 45 minutes. The brunch menu was varied and the prices were reasonable. "

  • "The waiter was thoughtful with a high level of service. I had a few special dietary requests and the chef and waiter were wonderful. The meal was delicious and perfect. Coquette's went above and beyond to deliver delicious food accompanied by wonderful service."

  • "Delicious French food in an authentic brasserie. Loved it. Wish there was a place like it in our home town in Florida. "

  • "My wife, son and I dined here last Saturday night. It was a very enjoyable experience. The service was very good, and the manager was very responsive to an issue we pointed out about the acoustics. Food was well prepared and presented, although the scallops were a bit sparse for hungry people. The platter would have just looked better, and been more filling, with a bit more scallop and/or one of the accompaniments."

  • "My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely meal. We started with the brie which we both enjoyed. It was the prefect size for two to share. I got the pan seared Salmon with cous cous and peas. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was very delicious. I wish the dish was just a tad warmer. My daughter got the Le Coquette (burger with egg and carmelized onion) which she raved about. The dining room was very French and quiet enough for conversation (we were there on a Friday night). Try the kir royale- a light summer drink. We shared the pistachio dessert which we agreed was kind of blah. Service was attentive but not overly so. We'll be back!"

  • "Went for lunch for a first visit. Came to try french cuisine for a birthday celebration with friends. We went early and had excellent service. We tried escargot and terrine du jour for the first time. Very good. Our entries were delicious. I had the quiche du jour ( roasted veggies and potatoes). It is the best quiche that I have ever had. My friends had the beef bourguignon and the seafood crepe. Both were delicious. We did not order dessert but there were a good number of offerings. The atmosphere was attractive and pleasant. I will be back."

  • "Had a group and one of those had been here before. Food was very good, however, felt a little pricey for the serving size of some of the meal. I had the salmon which was very good, but would have preferred a side salad or soup to go along with the entrée. Desserts were delicious. each of us ordered something different and shared and all were very good. Overall very good experience and would go back. "

  • "We are becoming regulars and have come to depend on the constant quality of service, food, martinis and the general ambience and low buzz of others enjoying a fine lunch. "

  • "Was in town for business an decided to go for "comfort" food. The Bistro is set up nicely with the requisite zinc bar, etc. The menu is nicely varied with the items one might expect on a Parisian Bistro menu. All of the food was well prepared and presented. The wine list was very interesting and reasonably priced. "

  • "We loved sitting in the back wine room. It felt like our own private party. Food is excellent and service was nice. Great place for a special occasion!!"

  • "Cocktails were tasty and delightful. Dinner was scrumptious all around. My wife and I each had the duck--yum! I especially loved the couscous. The escargot appetizer was a bit over cooked for my liking, but they more than made up for it with dessert (mmmm...salted caramel ice cream!). And the espresso (I had decaf) put a nice now on this Mother's Day treat. "

  • "I'd heard great things about this place. They were certainly packed for Mother's Day brunch. I wasn't overwhelmed by my food and the looks of the other food at the table, but I did see a few GREAT looking dishes go by. It seemed a bit over-priced and it wasn't bad, it just wasn't memorable."
