A word from Coppervine
Food + Drink = Coppervine

Coppervine. A unique neighborhood restaurant focused on sharing and pairing.

Inspired by contemporary American food favorites, where each menu item has met it’s match.

Built for sharing, every item is paired to a wine, a beer and a cocktail – so let us guide you through your night, or feel free to create your own pairing (it might just show up on our menu a few days later!)

The seasonal menus are created by Executive Chef David Wang.

The drink program was created by Beverage Director/Partner Don Sritong (owner of Just Grapes Wine Shop).

The sophisticated but warm interior was designed by famed designer Karen Herold of K Studio (formerly 555).

Diner Reviews
  • "Went for a birthday dinner. Seated next to table with 4 drunk and loud people. Service was nonexistent. Had to ask for our bottle of wine to be served each time. Wine finally served AFTER we'd received our check and paid."

  • "Food was good but not worth the price. Was $82.00 a person and not a Wow at all."

  • "Everything about our experience at Coppervine was excellent. The food was amazing - it was delicious, fresh, and well prepared. The service was outstanding; out servers, bartenders, and hosts were all polite, friendly, attentive, and informative. The ambiance was relaxing and comfortable. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "This new addition to Lincoln Park really rang our chimes. It reminds us of Cork & Fork in La Quinta, CA...a great wine pairing restaurant with awesome food and service. Coppervine goes a step further by also offering beer and cocktail pairing. Everything we sampled was excellent. We shared small and medium sized plates, but each chose our own dessert. The service was crisp and informative. The wine list is quite good and the ambience was very cool. We will be back. We highly recommend giving this place a try!"

  • "The concept of beer, wine or cocktail suggestions for each menu item was intriguing. Food was great and the restaurant is visually very interesting. Will return to try more items."

  • "I saw this complaint on a few reviews, but I didn't know how true it was. The short ribs and halibut, while delicious, were not medium plates. They should be considered small plates and shouldn't cost as much as they do. Additionally, the bartenders need personality training and I had to track down our waiter for just about everything. Yes, the food and drinks were delicious, but I paid $65 and left hungry. If you have a ton on money to splurge, go and have one of everything. Otherwise, I suggest trying a different restaurant."

  • "The food was very good. Our only complaint was the noise."

  • "We have been there 3 times. It seems toget better with each visit. Don't miss the lobster BLT."

  • "I loved the menu, but the prices were above what would be expected for the portion size. I went on a date on an early Tuesday evening and we were the ONLY table in the restaurant. I jog by this restaurant often and have never seen it busy - what's up with that? The service was excellent (which is expected, as we were the only table) and food was good but again, I think the prices are quite high for the portion."

  • "It's been a long time since my wife and I were this disappointed in a meal. 3 of the 5 items we ordered bordered on inedible. The fritters were bland, the fried chicken was incredibly dry, and the food was just ordinary. We will not be back."

  • "Our first time there, paired everything with the recommended wines and had a fun evening trying different things. Service is great, and the place is really beautiful"

  • "Went for my 3rd time in last 6-8 months. Loved it again. Great craft cocktail pairings (or unpaired) and food was as creative and delicious as it was the last 2 times."

  • "Great concept, lots of choice on the menu take the wine or cocktail recommendations they make the experience. Food was great desert a little disappointing but the port choice made it!"

  • "What a beautiful restaurant, it is visually appealing with a gorgeous 3D sculpture that sets the tone for a relaxed meal. Lighting & acoustics are diner-friendly (we are 50+) which can make or break a dining experience. The food was very creative & delicious, it might be helpful to study the menu a bit before arriving although our server was most patient, giving us great options & ideas. The staff was invisibly-available which is exactly what you want and a stop at the table for a nice chat by the owner was a nice touch. He visited every table and held a conversation, not just a walk-by. Seeing his interest in the customers' comments was a welcome change from the indifference you sense in some "hot" spots. We will definitely be back."

  • "We had a great evening at Coppervine. The squash blossom salad, Mac n cheese, etc was tasty and the wine pairings were the best. Really fun evening all around. "

  • "As always, the food was fantastic. Great tweaks to the food menu under the new chef and the drink menu continues to delight. The service was impeccable, and the staff did an amazing job accommodating my underage nephew with a fancy non alcoholic drink. Gets loud later in the evening but has a great vibe."

  • "we just moved into this neighborhod, and Coppervine has quickly become one of our favorites Great food, and the pairings of wine, beer or cocktails with every course if great fun - and lets you try new pairings you might not think of. The owner and staff are very active and we had a great time."

  • "A combination of very good food with great wine, beer and cocktail pairings make for a most enjoyable evening. We really liked that we could get a tasting size of all alcoholic drinks to go along with excellent food served in small medium or entree sized plates. Service was efficient and knowledgeable. We will go back for sure"

  • "Our son gave us a gift card to Coppervine because he thought we would enjoy the way each food item is paired with a beer, glass of wine or cocktail. It was an interesting concept but not easy to do if you shared plates. We loved the lobster mac and cheese appetizer. We also split the muscles in a spicy wine and chorizo broth. The chicken thigh had a flavorful crust and filling. The bass with gnocchi was very tasty. Portions were generous and the menus had a variety of options with some daily specials. Drinks can be ordered in a tasting or full size option. It was fun to try lots of different items. We ate upstairs which we preferred. It seemed loud and crowded on the first level. Will definitely go back!"

  • "The serving size on the wine and beer in the pairings is ridiculously small. They do state the amounts on the menu, but when it shows up you will do a double take. Perhaps two swallows. Get a glass of wine that you like and then refill it if need be. The food is fine and the small servings are what we need after a cold winter of stuffing ourselves."

  • "Some of the appetizers (small plates) are a little smaller than you'd expect for what you pay. The tuna was good and the short rib, the sea bass was slightly over cooked and the crudo was very light (wouldn't get those again). The waiter was not wine savvy."

  • "Coppervine was a very nice place. Modern inside, with a great selection on the menu. Each selection had a beer, drink and wine pairing suggestion which was interesting. We had the lobster mac & cheese and the amount of lobster in there was amazing. We also had the apple and nut salad which was very good. I had one of the flat breads as well and it was very tasty. My husband had the lobster blt and it too was great. We will be back."

  • "I find it a bit odd when a hi end restaurant has a flat screen TV at the bar playing sports during dinner service- tacky. The restaurant has a very complicated menu - evolving from the small plates sharing/large plate - to now S, M, L. It's hard to gage how to order and how much to order. Then to further complicate matters, they provide 'pairings' of not only wine, but beer or cocktails with each dish. It's like taking a multiple choice exam when you read the menu! What happened to just ordering a starter and main and a drink?! And after all that, the food was just average. Excellent service though, and nice selection of beers. It will run you about $150-$200/couple."

  • "With a 10:00 p.m. seating, we were surprised that the restaurant already started shutting down at 10:30, shutting the music off and telling us that the kitchen had closed at 10:00 when we asked to see the dessert menu at 10:45."

  • "The place is beautiful . Food was cold . The crunchy fried chick one was more burnt than crunchy. The place was empty and the good took forever. Sorry but would never return"

  • "I went here with my boyfriend for his birthday - I had seen the article on Eater recommending it. The menu looked amazing but each course blew the descriptions out of the water. I was pleasantly surprised at the pairings they recommended with each course. We were able to mix up beer, cocktails and wine and I was pleased with each course/pairing! I recommend this for special occasions, girls night outs, etc. So fun, energetic and I will definitely be going back!"

  • "I took some friends on their first time here, and they were just as impressed as I have consistently been. The servers are knowledgeable about the food, wine, and drinks and very helpful in determining what you might like even in addition to the recommended pairings. I appreciated that the server also provided some information on why certain things are recommended pairings, really interesting. Overall, a solid dining experience in a beautiful space with lovely people."

  • "Coppervine is fun for its interesting pairings and food presentation. We enjoyed the subtle flavors and very nice presentation of the food. Rather expensive so good for a special occasion, yet not a romantic setting, as tables are close and when the restaurant is full it gets noisy. Service is excellent."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed dining at Coppervine on our anniversary. We turned the small, medium, and large plates into a three course dinner by sharing a few of them. The wine/beer/cocktail pairings with each course made for a great dining experience. There was ample variety to the meal and the pairings really did add to the taste of each course. My wife chose the wine pairings and I chose the cocktail pairings to mix it up. I've never paired food with cocktails before, but it was rewarding. We both loved the pairings, so we recommend choosing those. Our favorite dishes included the lobster mac & cheese, mozzarella flat bread, and crème brûlée. My drinks were a little slow to arrive, so I recommend ordering the pairings up front."

  • "We stoppoed in for Dessert after a show. The small plate concept with paired beverages is a very intersting idea. Not all of the pairings were to our taste, but our server was able to make great substitute suggestions. Very nice atmoshere. Dessert portions were just right. Will come back to try other items and pairings."

  • "Concept of pairing taste sized drinks (beer, wine, cocktail) with multiple small plates is good. The 2oz drink size allowed me to try 2 cocktails and a glass of wine. That would not have been possible with full sized drinks. Pairing cocktails with meals time has come. Quality of the cocktails/wine were good. Food: nothing that overly excited me. Lobster Mac&Cheese, very good. Daily Crudo was fairly tasteless. The lemon sauce was a little too sweet and needed a more acidic edge. Grilled baby octopus, good. My main issue was with the short rib with cheese polenta. The rib meat was more like pot roast than short rib, no succulence in the meat and the polenta was too firm. The pear croustade was good but nothing memorable."

  • "I went during Chicago Chef's week & I don't think it was a great deal, but the food & service are good & it's a pretty place."

  • "My friend and I ate here this week. We had the prix fixe menu given this week is Chef's week. We both ordered the fried chicken, and were both very disappointed. Once you got thru the super crispy outer part, the inside was very bland and unseasoned/marinated. Besides for the small gravy on top of the mash potato, it was very bland without the gravy. I can make better mash potatoes than what was served.. I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant and the Chef's menu, but the only thing I really enjoyed was the lobster Mac n cheese. It was a pricey meal that was very disappointing and unsatisfying!"

  • "This place seems really trendy (not in a good way) The plates are really small and expensive but delicious. The menu is a little confusing. It just felt a bit stuffy to me and not as laid back as the neighborhood. Decor and food were very good though. I just wish there was more of it on the plate."
