The seasonal menus are created by Executive Chef Chip Barnes.

The drink program was created by Beverage Director/Partner Don Sritong (owner of Just Grapes Wine Shop).

The sophisticated but warm interior was designed by famed designer Karen Herold of K Studio (formerly 555).

  • "We made a reservation but unfortunately were still seated at high tops that really should be for walk-ins. The tuna tartare and the Hallibut were fantastic! The other dishes were disappointing though, with too much blue cheese and green apples on 3 dishes in total. The wine list was different but unfortunately not convincing. Overall, not bad but overpriced."

  • "Our second visit was as good as the first. The food and wine pairing works quite well. We loved the halibut, the lobster BLT, the flatbread, the lavender flan, and the bourbon gelato. Terrific, friendly service from everyone form the owner, the waiter, the chef, and the whole dining room staff. this is one of our new favorite spots in Lincoln. BTW...my fellow Lincoln Park patrons...this place has far better food and service than the two Lettuce Restaurants next door. Go there soon!!!!"

  • "Mercadito has some of the best Mexican food in the city of Chicago — the guacamole and margaritas are delicious, and the mini tacos are definite highlights on the menu (especially the special chicken tacos al pastor with peach and onion slaw on my most recent visit). That aside, this is probably the loudest restaurant I've been in. Impossible to have conversation while eating dinner here, and service suffered because we could not hear what our server was saying! While I love the food at Mercadito, the excessive noise in the restaurant does not make for a relaxing dining experience."

  • "Our reservation was for 8:30. The restaurant closed at 9 and waiter was laughable in his attempts to rush us along. Took our cocktail order and when he came back to take our appetizer order we hesitated a moment because we weren't sure we were ready and he actually "The kitchen's about to close ... so." First of all, it was 8:40, second of all, don't seat people at 8:30 if you're going to then rush them along -- I mean, it's not like we sat there 20 minutes sipping cocktails, we hesitated 2 seconds about ordering -- and to tell us that was the height of unprofessional service. There were other, subtle and not-so-subtle little rushed moves. We left at 9:20, laughing at the waiter and the experience and vowing not to go back or recommend."

  • "This restaurant excels at everything: inspired pairings of wine, beer, and cocktails with delicious food; half pours of wine and cocktails so that you can sample incredible drinks if you wish; absolutely perfect service to make the meal relaxing and fun; creative and delectable dishes; and a sophisticated ambience with a low enough noise level that you can actually hear your dinner partner and can speak at your normal volume. It's a real find, and the quality is top notch every time I've gone."

  • "Food while well prepared lacks real seasoning. An example is the fried chicken. This was a beautifully moist and superbly crunchy fried chicken however, it was completely devoid of any real seasoning even though it came with a "spicy" aioli the spice level was barely noticeable. The lobster BLT was nice plate on thick texas toast. Lobster was well balanced. All drinks can be an experiment so before you know it you have drunk too much and still haven't found something that clicks."

  • "Love this place for dinner. The ambience is wonderful, food is terrific. Hadn't been since the winter and the summer menu is lovely with lighter fare. Friends had the halibut and they really liked it. I had fried chicken and it is enough for two meals. Try the rainbow chard. It is delicious. Sautéed with balsamic vinegar and lardons. You can't go wrong. Nice wine list. The manager does a nice of job of seeing if you're a repeat customer and coming over to thank you for returning. Nice touch. Definitely returning again. Good spot prior to theater. Less of a meet up place like the restaurants next door to it."

  • "The entrees we had were missing the mark. The fried chicken which was highly recommended was overly breaded with a very small chicekn hiding in a thick coating. The protein to breading ratio was way off. The pomme frites were tasteless and not crispy. The lobster BLT was also too much breading. The protein was lost in the bread. My wife's fish dish was good but not cooked completely (she does not like it well done or medium) but this had a portion that was raw and not edible. The desert was nothing special. The wine and beer was OK nothing special. I would not chose to try this restaurant again. There are many other restaurants like this that are much better like Rustic House just across the street."

  • "The space is very pretty, dark and romantic, great for a date. The food was absolutely phenomenal, from the flatbread to the side dishes, truly the best food I've had in a long time and I'm a foodie. The attention to detail and service was also excellent. I just can't figure out why others aren't all over this place, perhaps the lack of outdoor space and the dark interior? From the time we started dinner (6:30pm), until the time we left around 8pm, the restaurant was only 1/3 full, a stark contrast to Stella Barre next door, which was packed the entire time. If you haven't visited Coppervine, get to this place, it's wonderful!"

  • "This new addition to Lincoln Park really rang our chimes. It reminds us of Cork & Fork in La Quinta, CA...a great wine pairing restaurant with awesome food and service. Coppervine goes a step further by also offering beer and cocktail pairing. Everything we sampled was excellent. We shared small and medium sized plates, but each chose our own dessert. The service was crisp and informative. The wine list is quite good and the ambience was very cool. We will be back. We highly recommend giving this place a try!"

  • "I saw this complaint on a few reviews, but I didn't know how true it was. The short ribs and halibut, while delicious, were not medium plates. They should be considered small plates and shouldn't cost as much as they do. Additionally, the bartenders need personality training and I had to track down our waiter for just about everything. Yes, the food and drinks were delicious, but I paid $65 and left hungry. If you have a ton on money to splurge, go and have one of everything. Otherwise, I suggest trying a different restaurant."

  • "I loved the menu, but the prices were above what would be expected for the portion size. I went on a date on an early Tuesday evening and we were the ONLY table in the restaurant. I jog by this restaurant often and have never seen it busy - what's up with that? The service was excellent (which is expected, as we were the only table) and food was good but again, I think the prices are quite high for the portion."

  • "What a beautiful restaurant, it is visually appealing with a gorgeous 3D sculpture that sets the tone for a relaxed meal. Lighting & acoustics are diner-friendly (we are 50+) which can make or break a dining experience. The food was very creative & delicious, it might be helpful to study the menu a bit before arriving although our server was most patient, giving us great options & ideas. The staff was invisibly-available which is exactly what you want and a stop at the table for a nice chat by the owner was a nice touch. He visited every table and held a conversation, not just a walk-by. Seeing his interest in the customers' comments was a welcome change from the indifference you sense in some "hot" spots. We will definitely be back."

  • "Our son gave us a gift card to Coppervine because he thought we would enjoy the way each food item is paired with a beer, glass of wine or cocktail. It was an interesting concept but not easy to do if you shared plates. We loved the lobster mac and cheese appetizer. We also split the muscles in a spicy wine and chorizo broth. The chicken thigh had a flavorful crust and filling. The bass with gnocchi was very tasty. Portions were generous and the menus had a variety of options with some daily specials. Drinks can be ordered in a tasting or full size option. It was fun to try lots of different items. We ate upstairs which we preferred. It seemed loud and crowded on the first level. Will definitely go back!"

  • "The serving size on the wine and beer in the pairings is ridiculously small. They do state the amounts on the menu, but when it shows up you will do a double take. Perhaps two swallows. Get a glass of wine that you like and then refill it if need be. The food is fine and the small servings are what we need after a cold winter of stuffing ourselves."

  • "Coppervine was a very nice place. Modern inside, with a great selection on the menu. Each selection had a beer, drink and wine pairing suggestion which was interesting. We had the lobster mac & cheese and the amount of lobster in there was amazing. We also had the apple and nut salad which was very good. I had one of the flat breads as well and it was very tasty. My husband had the lobster blt and it too was great. We will be back."

  • "I find it a bit odd when a hi end restaurant has a flat screen TV at the bar playing sports during dinner service- tacky. The restaurant has a very complicated menu - evolving from the small plates sharing/large plate - to now S, M, L. It's hard to gage how to order and how much to order. Then to further complicate matters, they provide 'pairings' of not only wine, but beer or cocktails with each dish. It's like taking a multiple choice exam when you read the menu! What happened to just ordering a starter and main and a drink?! And after all that, the food was just average. Excellent service though, and nice selection of beers. It will run you about $150-$200/couple."
