Diner Reviews
  • "We both had filets which were perfect, nice and tender and great taste! Service was wonderful, very attentive without being annoying."

  • "Enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Copper River Fish and Chop House with its Alaskan Halibut, fingerling potatoes and succulent asparagus. The halibut was absolutely perfectly prepared to bring out its delicate taste, and included a garnish of tasty salsa that complimented this flaky white fish. Many restaurants skimp on the portion size of halibut, but Copper River provided a generous portion that allowed this diner to savor every bite. My date enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Filet Mignon (black and bleu) with garlic mashed potatoes, and several spears of large tasty asparagus. Mashed potatoes could use more butter to add flavor and keep from being too dry. We look forward to a return trip, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dining jewel."

  • "Had a nice quiet table with room to spread out. The food was excellent with very good portion sizes. The service was very attentive as well. Enjoyed the atmosphere and was very good for a business lunch."

  • "The setting, the staff, the service and the seasonally changing menu cannot be beat. My wife and stumbled upon Copper River on Satruday afternoon and have been back as often as possible for lunch or dinner. Kelvin and his staff really know what customer service is about and they make you feel like family every time we are there. We always choose Copper RIver for special occasions. I can't say enough about the menu and the creativity that is put into the food. If you are a foodie and want something unique without going downtown or if you just enjoy a great meal then Copper River needs to be on your MUST Do list."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Copper River and loved it. They made our experience very special! We were wished anniversary greetings as soon as we walked in and from our server as well. Our menus had 'Happy Anniversary' printed on them and we were given complimentary Creme Brulee for dessert. Our server was fantastic - helpful and prompt! Overall-A great experience...We'll be back for sure!"

  • "What a great place to eat! Loved everything about our visit from food to service. I had the yellowfin tuna and it was to die for. My husband had a steak. He said it was the best he has ever had. Can't wait to bring in friends next for dinner."

  • "This has become my wife and mine favorite resturant. While we do try other venues, we keep coming back time and again. The staff is incredible, the menu changes with the season and the food is spectaclar. If you are a foodie or even if you are not, you have to make Copper River a must do."

  • "Because we were there for Restaurant Week, we did not order some of the less expensive but tantalizing offerings (fish tacos, for example) and stuck with the three "special menus" for restaurant week. I had the bland fish Cobia—it was OK but nothing special, and I'm still not sure what Cobia is. My companions had the stuffed pork chop, which was tender but salty and overseasoned on the outside and not done on one side for one diner. I wanted to recommend this restaurant because has a scenic dining room with a lovely patio outside and is not far from where I live, but they should have been offering their best efforts for the Restaurant Week dinner, and they didn't. I will still probably go there again when the patio is open."

  • "We wanted to go to a nice dinner on short notice, but all our usual hotspots were booked. We fired up OpenTable and looked for restaurants in our area and sorted them by review "stars." CR came up highly recommended so we made a reservation...and boy are we glad we did. First off the vibe of the place is really cool...the contours of the building and vibrant lighting make for interesting atmosphere, but the real attraction is the FOOD! We both had the filet mignon and I'd pit it up against any other competing steak from a MN steakhouse. The staff was extremely attentive and took their time explaining the menu and making many choices on it sound appealing...so we'll be back for sure!"

  • "Our dinner entrees were not worth the value. We spent over $100 for a meal that neither of us enjoyed. The waiter was fine and new the menu, but our overall experience was not worth repeating and not something we would recommend to others."

  • "This restaurant is a convenient meeting spot for a friend and I, and we enjoy sitting in the bar, especially during their happy hour. The happy hour food choices are quite good, and a nice variety. I chose from the dinner menu this visit, and ordered a grilled salmon, which was served with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The sides were good, but the fish was overcooked. My friend ordered steamed mussels, which she said were very small and flavorless. Most of the choices on the menu are fish, so it's disappointing they don't prepare it well. The prices for selections on the dinner menu are expensive, so I expect more quality."

  • "I couldn't taste the fish. There was just way too much butter and seasoning."

  • "Had a great time - our server was amy - she did a fabulous job!!! Food was good. Wish the bar was open longer, and our group would have stayed till close :)"

  • "Dishes bland or overpowered by red chili, "voodoo", sauce. Reminded they feel they are Oceanaire of the south metro...NOT even close. We were the only diners on a popular night but bar was full, at 5-8 pm. Guess we didn't get the memo."

  • "Food was phenomenal. A real jewel in the rather sparse Lakeville restaurant front. Easy to access. Wonderful and very knowledgeable staff. I recommended it already to several folks and will definitely by back."

  • "This is the third restaurant at this location and it looks like it won't be long until there's a fourth. The price is three times higher than it should be for the quality of the food. The calamari was small and over cooked, the parmesan canadian walleye (with a large blob of sun-dried tomato pesto on top) was over cooked and required a knife to cut it, and the 4 seared scallops (while cooked right) were caked in salt and pepper. Our soft spoken, mumbling waiter left us asking each other what he said every time he left. He performs his wine pouring trick and spills wine on the outside of the glass. If you can't master the skill, at least clean the glass. We will never return."

  • "The food was very flavorful with a good presentation. My girlfriend and myself enjoyed all three courses that we were served. I would highly recommend the French Onion soup. We visited the restaurant on a very cold day so there were few tables occupied. The décor is very tastefully done."

  • "We enjoyed a Restaurant week dinner. The French Onion Soup we had was the BEST I've ever experienced in the US or Europe. My chicken entrée was delicious besides a very generous portion..... Our server was very good, attentive and cordial. Copper River is a must go to establishment."

  • "We only went for lunch and had great food. Not much to judge on areas we would recommend this restaurant for. The food was good and the prices were fine. Had a prime roast beef sandwich that was super! Would go back in a minute, not too far from our home."

  • "I met some friends for lunch. I made a reservation but it turned out that it wasn't necessary. We were the only ones there! The food was wonderful! Humongous portions! The staff was very attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Great find!"

  • "Great physical setting. in the summer the outdoor patio would seem spectacular. Alas, its Feb, and there was 22" of snow out there. They did have the big fire pit going, which looked great. But its still February. Everything food related was OK, but not a cut above. Restaurants in this price range don't use iceberg lettuce in salads. A bit more cream/butter in the garlic mashed potatoes makes them less dry. Those sorts of small items would make it a cut above."

  • "My wife and I love how Copper River creatively changes their menu and consistently delivers. Our latest favorite was the Sea Bass with Lobster and Corn Risotto. It was truly amazing and we look forward to our next time there. It is wonderful to have such terrific fresh seafood options right in our backyard. Keep up the great work!"

  • "Wonderful setting and atmosphere that blends architecture with functionality. Have been to CR several times various occasions from Wine Tasting to Brunch to Happy Hour to regular dining. Each time brings a new experience and the décor seems to showcase a different aspect of CR. The Happy Hour is bargain that nobody can turn down that includes a variety of high quality appetizers. Whether you want to fresh catch or salad or sandwich or choice entree's you will find memorable dining experience. Make sure to try their house bread with lime - even if you visit during happy hour. Their desserts are outstanding and are generously portioned - extra forks to share are common. Be sure to check their events calendar for specials!"

  • "This was the second time my wife and I tried Copper River. The food was amazing. Neither my wife or I are big wine drinkers so we had our server, Anne, recommend something. It was wonderful. We are already planning to come back next month for our anniversary."

  • "The food was fine, but not spectacular considering the prices. The waiter didn't listen, so my dish was not prepared the way I asked, but the food was fine. They like the salt here, but it didn't bother me. The starter edamame spread with spinach tortilla was AWESOME. Wine bottles are half price on Monday, so we splurged and we enjoyed our choice. Its far from my home, so I;m not sure I will return, but its a nice little place for the neighborhood and its decorated really well."

  • "I did request a booth but when we got there they sat us at a table even though booths were available. I asked to be moved but was told those were unavailable. Other than that we had a great time. Food was good and our waitress did a great job."

  • "I will forever be trying to replicate the amazing bacon jam. My filet mignon was good- garlic mashed potatoes delicious (probably because of the bacon jam I smeared on them) and my boyfriend liked his fish and rice. Our waiter was a little weird though and too quiet to understand. All in all, it was a good Valentines day dinner."
