  • "Cooper River never fails to amaze me! Menu is unique and has something for everyone. If you think you need to go downtown for a great meal, reconsider and go to Copper River. The staff is very attentive and the food is over the top!"

  • "This was our sixth time at Copper River. Once again, we had an amazing meal and service."

  • "Food was very good, however, the service was slow. Waitress was excellent, but it took a while from the time the order was placed until we got our food. The place was pretty empty so I didn't understand. I would go back though."

  • "I had the grilled halibut - nice char on the outside and moist on the inside. Too many restaurants want to drown the fish in sauce - and they do offer more complex preparations like that, if that's what you like. I like the option of the simple grilled preparation, with a slice of lemon on the side. Mashed potatoes and asparagus accompaniments were very good, too."

  • "We enjoyed the restaurant even before it became the chop house. All around great dining experience. It always delivers. Great servers, very friendly, constant attention to detail without being over bearing. "

  • "We enjoyed a lovely Mother's Day brunch buffet with our two year old. There was a lot of action so she was very distracted, but the food was good and the atmosphere was eclectic. We would love to come back and try the regular menu because we were very pleased with the brunch buffet."

  • "I was very excited to try Copper River as I've been looking for a good local "fish house" restaurant. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi, which the waitress assured me was one of their best and longest-standing dishes... it waa junk, and I was sorely disappointed. My wife ordered a New York strip steak, which she also found extremely disappointing. My $9.00 "Copperade" alcoholic lemonade showed up halfway through the meal and barely tasted of alcohol, not to mention being 50% ice. If you're looking for a good steak, chop and fish house, I regret to say that Copper River is definitely not that place. I have no intentions of ever returning."

  • "The last time we ate here I gave the restaurant a rave review. That, of course, is why we returned. It was Mother's day and we expected the same level of service we experienced before, however, our server did the old "disappearing act." We are not whiny diners: if it is busy we see and understand that service can be affected. However, this was not a busy night. On three occasions, when we needed refills, we had to stop other servers and ask. They were accommodating, and twice went back to the kitchen and got our server to come out. It was just not a really quality experience."

  • "This is a local favorite of ours for good seafood dinner. we had the parmesan crusted walleye & Blackened Mahi w/Voodooe sauce. Very generous portion of walleye! Great flavor, but little over cooked.. Same for the Mahi. The Lobster hash was great choice for side. Grilled Asparagus was very flavorful. I would definetaly order again but recommend the chef check his cooking time/temps..."

  • "We dine at Copper River often. This was the only time our tuna was overdone. We advised the server and a perfectly prepared replacement was there within minutes. Despite us saying it was not necessary to take anything off our bill, the manager offered to make that dish complementary. The new dish was perfect and there within minutes so there truly was no need to reduce the price at all. We finally agreed on half off :) Love this place."

  • "We had Easter Brunch. The menu was definitely limited for a special occasion. Cool scrambled eggs , no eggs benedict or other specialty foods. It was defintely a mediocre meal except for the bloody mary,s and a delightful bar tender who served us."

  • "Overall, an excellent experience. As always, the food was world class. The table service was great. The only negative was upon our arrival, when the receptionist was much more interested in a phone conversation than she was in greeting and seating the people standing in front of her. "

  • "We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday at Copper River, and we were pleasantly surprised by the wine list, food selection and service. Unlike many area restaurants, Copper River has a very unique design and décor, an inviting bar area and outside patio with gas fire pit. A large selection of entrée options will ensure everyone can find a suitable dish to enjoy. The flour tortillas served with a garlic dipping sauce were excellent, we asked for seconds. "

  • "Easter Brunch...very good prime rib, dry salmon, very good garlic mashed potatoes, cold and dry pork, good cookies but flavorless lemon bars and dry cinnamon rolls, good scrambled eggs, good sausage links and bacon, good french toast, but nothing special, pancakes were wet and stuck together....just not worth 26.95. More like 16.95. "

  • "Nothing too special but nice enough. Better than cooking at home. I'm sure their regular meals are very good. "

  • "Lovely experience at Copper River. We went for Easter brunch, and the food was great had a little bit of everything, and all was good. Bloody Mary's are a meal in themselves. Service was awesome our waitress was Brittany she was awesome. Will diffently go back again. "

  • "great place for special celebration. They don't skimp when mixing a drink. Service was excellent- friendly and knowledgable. Walleye was good, but could have done without the tomato compote. Also complimentary crème brulee was wonderful! "

  • "We both had filets which were perfect, nice and tender and great taste! Service was wonderful, very attentive without being annoying."

  • "Enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Copper River Fish and Chop House with its Alaskan Halibut, fingerling potatoes and succulent asparagus. The halibut was absolutely perfectly prepared to bring out its delicate taste, and included a garnish of tasty salsa that complimented this flaky white fish. Many restaurants skimp on the portion size of halibut, but Copper River provided a generous portion that allowed this diner to savor every bite. My date enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Filet Mignon (black and bleu) with garlic mashed potatoes, and several spears of large tasty asparagus. Mashed potatoes could use more butter to add flavor and keep from being too dry. We look forward to a return trip, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dining jewel."

  • "The setting, the staff, the service and the seasonally changing menu cannot be beat. My wife and stumbled upon Copper River on Satruday afternoon and have been back as often as possible for lunch or dinner. Kelvin and his staff really know what customer service is about and they make you feel like family every time we are there. We always choose Copper RIver for special occasions. I can't say enough about the menu and the creativity that is put into the food. If you are a foodie and want something unique without going downtown or if you just enjoy a great meal then Copper River needs to be on your MUST Do list."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Copper River and loved it. They made our experience very special! We were wished anniversary greetings as soon as we walked in and from our server as well. Our menus had 'Happy Anniversary' printed on them and we were given complimentary Creme Brulee for dessert. Our server was fantastic - helpful and prompt! Overall-A great experience...We'll be back for sure!"

  • "What a great place to eat! Loved everything about our visit from food to service. I had the yellowfin tuna and it was to die for. My husband had a steak. He said it was the best he has ever had. Can't wait to bring in friends next for dinner."

  • "This has become my wife and mine favorite resturant. While we do try other venues, we keep coming back time and again. The staff is incredible, the menu changes with the season and the food is spectaclar. If you are a foodie or even if you are not, you have to make Copper River a must do."

  • "Because we were there for Restaurant Week, we did not order some of the less expensive but tantalizing offerings (fish tacos, for example) and stuck with the three "special menus" for restaurant week. I had the bland fish Cobia—it was OK but nothing special, and I'm still not sure what Cobia is. My companions had the stuffed pork chop, which was tender but salty and overseasoned on the outside and not done on one side for one diner. I wanted to recommend this restaurant because has a scenic dining room with a lovely patio outside and is not far from where I live, but they should have been offering their best efforts for the Restaurant Week dinner, and they didn't. I will still probably go there again when the patio is open."

  • "We wanted to go to a nice dinner on short notice, but all our usual hotspots were booked. We fired up OpenTable and looked for restaurants in our area and sorted them by review "stars." CR came up highly recommended so we made a reservation...and boy are we glad we did. First off the vibe of the place is really cool...the contours of the building and vibrant lighting make for interesting atmosphere, but the real attraction is the FOOD! We both had the filet mignon and I'd pit it up against any other competing steak from a MN steakhouse. The staff was extremely attentive and took their time explaining the menu and making many choices on it sound appealing...so we'll be back for sure!"

  • "Our dinner entrees were not worth the value. We spent over $100 for a meal that neither of us enjoyed. The waiter was fine and new the menu, but our overall experience was not worth repeating and not something we would recommend to others."

  • "This restaurant is a convenient meeting spot for a friend and I, and we enjoy sitting in the bar, especially during their happy hour. The happy hour food choices are quite good, and a nice variety. I chose from the dinner menu this visit, and ordered a grilled salmon, which was served with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The sides were good, but the fish was overcooked. My friend ordered steamed mussels, which she said were very small and flavorless. Most of the choices on the menu are fish, so it's disappointing they don't prepare it well. The prices for selections on the dinner menu are expensive, so I expect more quality."

  • "I couldn't taste the fish. There was just way too much butter and seasoning."

  • "Dishes bland or overpowered by red chili, "voodoo", sauce. Reminded they feel they are Oceanaire of the south metro...NOT even close. We were the only diners on a popular night but bar was full, at 5-8 pm. Guess we didn't get the memo."

  • "Food was phenomenal. A real jewel in the rather sparse Lakeville restaurant front. Easy to access. Wonderful and very knowledgeable staff. I recommended it already to several folks and will definitely by back."

  • "This is the third restaurant at this location and it looks like it won't be long until there's a fourth. The price is three times higher than it should be for the quality of the food. The calamari was small and over cooked, the parmesan canadian walleye (with a large blob of sun-dried tomato pesto on top) was over cooked and required a knife to cut it, and the 4 seared scallops (while cooked right) were caked in salt and pepper. Our soft spoken, mumbling waiter left us asking each other what he said every time he left. He performs his wine pouring trick and spills wine on the outside of the glass. If you can't master the skill, at least clean the glass. We will never return."
