  • "My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place! It was built to give ur an old age historical look and they did a great job! We had the samosas, beet salad and butter chicken and our palates were tingling from the perfect blend of spices! Our waitress was the best we've ever had, being so intuitive without being invasive. The recommended vanilla caramel dessert was by far the best we've ever had!"

  • "My partner and I booked a table at the Copper Chimney for our Valentines dinner. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted and quickly seated. The ambience and decor was nice, however we found our server to be overly attentive which was bordering on inappropriate when we were trying to have a romantic night together. The food was nice but not spectacular and was incredibly over priced for what we got. Overall, our whole experience was disappointing. We wont be going back."

  • "After a very tasty lunch of their chicken wrap (fantastic, great naan) , I came back again but was very disappointed. Bottomline, the lunch special was lacking in quantity and taste. It was pretty obvious it was the "special". I was so looking forward to the curry chicken only to get a plate with way too much bare space on it! They weren't even generous with the rice! As for the curry chicken, it was barely warm in temperature and lacked much of any flavor. Very surprised."

  • "We have never heard of this restaurant before but excited about the Indian Fusion cuisine. The dining presentation and the portions were very generous. The more people we dine with, the more variety of foods we can share. The servers were on top of things and very friendly. We had an amazing time, good food & good company. We definitely will be back to experience your regular menu. Thank you so much!"

  • "We were here for DineOut Vancouver with the set menu. It was quiet for a Sat night, but the ambience was comfortable, warm and friendly for a date night. The live keyboard was a nice touch, though a little kitschy, we didn't mind that he played oldies classics. The food was quite good. Though the starter salad was plain, the mains, a fallapart rib roast with asparagus and a prawn curry, were both delicious. The side of onion rings was also great (what was that awesome dipping sauce?!) The paired wine was perfect and affordable. Recommended."

  • "Pros: Excellent live jazz performer. Seated at a large table including a booth. My friend liked the salad and pakora curry. Desserts (both creme brulee and spicy chocolate cake). Cons: Near the washrooms = lots of traffic in the adjacent hotel hallway. Candle on the table that spontaneously sparks. Our request for a cup of warm water was forgotten and finally came with a piece of lint floating in it. Waited an hour before appies and entrees arrived simultaneously. Salt mint lassi was the least likable (acquired taste). Tiger prawns weren't fresh. Nan bread was flat and dry. The chick-pea-battered onion rings we ordered on the side were too heavy tasting (for me). Cumin fries were forgettable. Hope others have better experiences."

  • "A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Food was good, they provided a reasonable option for lower priced wine but still had a comprehensive selection if you wanted to pay more. A pleasant surprise was an entertainer able to entertain without being intrusive or overwhelming conversation. Staff was very attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Nice atmosphere, and comfortable seating. All in all a reasonably priced evening out that to our group of five represented very good value."

  • "First time at this wonderful restaurant! Flavours were amazing. Good use of spices in the curries. Not too spicy not too mild. Short rib was not dry but moist and tender. Tiger Prawns were large and cooked perfectly and in a wonderful curry. Ghost pepper chocolate cake was so delicious! totally recommend!"

  • "This hidden gem is a real find. Room is both eclectic and appealing every way. DineOut Vancouver menu was imaginative and delicious. Star of the show was the service provided by the talented and accommodating hostess, Wanita, not to mention the live entertainment provided by a jazz and blues guitarist. They pull out all the stops to make this a thoroughly pleasant dining experience."

  • "We went on a Friday evening for Dine-Out. It is appears to be a combination of bar and restaurant in one. The portion sizes were on the smaller scale and would rate starter, entree and dessert, all fair. Our server was very nice and pleasant but over attentive. I am not sure if this was because there were not a lot of other customers so she was keeping herself busy, but found she was trying to be part of our dining visit rather than giving us time to visit amongst ourselves. Too many other restaurants downtown that I would prefer and recommend - in comparison to all categories."

  • "We selected an Indian restaurant on Christmas specifically to avoid the "traditional" approach. We were a little shocked to discover that Copper Chimney had created a special Christmas menu, which we had no interest in. We ended up ordering off the regular menu (which was only provided when we requested it) and were a little disappointed with the limited selection. What we did order (for the most part) was very good. But it wasn't good enough to warrant the prices they charged. We won't be going back."

The food was excellent and more authentic in terms of Indian style than many other places that offer a meat gravy with raw spice. The only complaint was the décor and music (rather loud holiday music) not really in keeping with the food being served."

  • "My first visit to Copper Chimney for a business lunch. First off the ambience is rich at the same time welcoming. The staff are lovely and the food was excellent. If you work in the area, stop in and get your re-usable stainless steel take out lunch pail--which CC will refill for you in the mornings. What a great idea!! I will be returning for dinner with friends soon."
